Super cute new wizarding pop up! This place took some some of the fun elements of a Harry Potter hangout and made a cute experience for fans. I like that it's able to be enjoyed by fans of all ages. The cocktails were good and the butter beer was some of the better that I've sampled. Not sure how long it will be there, but I can't wait to go play some games and hang out longer. read more

I feel bad for the staff working here. They were apologetic but that was the boy good thing I can say about the pop-up. We had had a reservation since November and arrived to a packed bar. We had to track someone down to ask about our reservation only to be told their system went down and they weren't doing reservations anymore and we'd have to just wait and see if a table opened up. There was not a chance a table was going to open up. The place was standing room only and a few large groups with kids (this is NOT a kid friendly establishment) took up the bar and multiple tables and the adults had no interest in leaving even though their kids were bored and restless. Side note: there was no advanced notice about their reservation issues, no signs at either door and no one trying direct people and keep order. The decor was a sad attempt to be wizard-ish. The drinks were fair. Nothing particularly fun or inventive. We've been to multiple Harry Potter themed bars and pop-up in the US and UK so we might be a little biased but this experience was just sad. Hard pass. read more

Great idea for a pop up! This location is a Gorilla Cinema Presents ideation located in the back of Cosmic Gorilla...or across the street to La Ofrenda, depending on your walking direction. There are both alcoholic and mocktail versions of specialty drinks. We opted for the mocktails this time around and imbibed in the Frozen Potion-served bubbling, it was good, but with the flavors of coconut and Pineapple, decidedly not Christmasy in feel. But, it totally wins on style points. Winter Berry Brew-100% Christmas is a cup. Served cold with the flavors of cranberry and ginger, they toast a sprig of rosemary to give it that essence of tree without the overpowering taste of one. Definitely a win. The Pumpkin Cream was my favorite. It is served cold with a cinnamon stick and cool whip on top. Tastes just like a pumpkin pie without the crust. 10/10 would get again. The lone warm drink on our excursion, the Spiced Cider, also hit the right notes. Exactly as advertised, it is warm, mulled spices in taste, and served with cinnamon glitter on top that gets a blow torch sparkle during prep. It is a wow factor for sure. The decor is separated into houses-green/yellow/maroon/and blue and there are dragon heads on the wall that occasionally spew snow onto unsuspecting guests. Every few hours we get to do a little magic and they pass out wands for a light show. It is a great esthetic. In perusing the menu, the alcoholic drinks are all similar to the mocktails, with a little happy juoce added. My only wish is for some light nibbles to go along with the concoctions-perhaps a pumpkin pasty, chocolate frog, or even roasted nuts. Something to soak up the sweetness. I'm really really disappointed with my last visit here. I went on a usual Saturday night and showed up with my friends at around 10:30 and we got our first drink orders in. The drinks have decreased in quality and aren't as exciting as they were last year. We sat for 10 minutes near the entrance/exit and decided to get another round of drinks for the table. As we walk up, the female bartender tells us that they called "last call" "a few minutes ago" but we're going to put our orders in because "i guess you guys didn't hear us." Side note - I'm sitting by the entrance and I can clearly hear the bartenders conversation with her new trainee and other customers so clearly they did not call last call. I was shocked that last call was so soon considering they close here at midnight. Back to the review. I order my last two drinks, a shot and a mixed drink, and my friends order theirs. The last girl in my group goes up to order her last drink and BOTH bartenders ignore her. Blatantly. They then proceed to tell her that "We called last call 10 minutes ago". Again, no they did not. She explains that she's with our group and the female bartender starts to argue with my friend about how she can't serve her because "then i'd have to let everyone else get another drink and I have a kid I need to get home to." Keep in mind, it hasn't even hit 11PM yet and they close at midnight... My friend finally gets her drinks and we sit down. They turned away groups and couples that tried to walk in and then LOCKED THE DOOR. The door is the only way in/out for customers so that sounds like a safety problem?? A couple walked in at 10:50 and immediately sat down with what I assumed to be their friends. The female bartender then proceeded to have a completely different attitude to this new couple and act as if this bar was SO busy tonight and they are so sorry for closing early. There might have been 15 people in the bar while we were there. Overall, I'm really not impressed with this place and if you're going to close early, please post it online somewhere so that way drinks/time isn't wasted. read more
