What is this place? So you're probably a tourist in Dublin looking for a premium shopping…read moreexperience. Arnotts is the place to visit. I would describe it like the Bloomingdales or Saks 5th Avenue or Ireland. There's not a lot of options for individual luxury stores in the city so this place is a one-stop shop. Selections might be more limited because each store is smaller, but rest assured they have all the popular items. Tax-Free Shopping: For tourists (non-EU/GB residents), the tax-free shopping option is a huge plus. When you purchase your item, let them know you're interested in doing the tax-free rebate. You should bring your passport but the person who helped me said a photo was fine. They'll print out a receipt for you to submit to Planet at the airport. The minimum purchase is 75 euros to qualify. If the purchase amount of your goods is below 2,000 euros, you don't need to get a customs stamp at the airport. Just return your completed form at Planet desk after security or deposit it in the Planet drop box and they'll do it on your behalf. Considering the VAT is 23%, this is a great value for all you visiting shoppers. Don't forget to stop by this place and check it out before you leave town!

This Department store is close to where Gayle and I first stayed in Dublin. I limited my 2 visits…read moreto the Stationary Department, looking for cool pens and stationary products. They had a decent albeit, uninspiring selection of name brands, maybe being a reflection our expanding digital world. The only thing to show from my visits was a 2026 notebook insert product.

Argos has pretty much everything, whether it's stuff for the apartment you need, office supplies or…read moreeven a karaoke machine for the home entertainment, and various smaller odds and ends. The catalogue is divided into sections: Kitchen, home and furniture, garden, sports, health, jewellery, office, toys etc. You flip through the pages, write down what you want and take it to the counter to pay. In only a few minutes, your stuff will be ready for pick-up! Shopping has never been this easy! Of course, I wouldn't really buy a TV from a catalogue. I kinda want to see it before I buy it, but if you've done your homework and know exactly what brand and product to get and you see on their website that Argos has it, it's pretty handy. I came here recently with my friend who's a buyer for commercials. She needed loads of different stuff and she needed it quick. In only about 15 minutes we were loading her car with a gazebo, basketball ring, parasol and a mini skateboard ramp. Such a time-saver!

As a young fella I was absollutely fascinated by the manner in which you shop in Argos. 'A shop…read morefull of catalogues? Preposterous. Where's all your stuff...my God it's like it just appeared out of thin air!' I thought to myself. Flash forward ten odd years and I'm still considerably fascinated by the place. It has a load of useless crap littering the pages of it's seemingly endless catalogie but it has some great cheap household stuff. If you need anything. Anything. It's probably in that catalogue. Okay, maybe not ANYTHING.
