But among the empty houses and the skeletons of skyscrapers there are a few hangers-on. Microsoft has a big office here, and during the week their workers make a little buzz around the place. Outside of work hours the whole area is dead, but those few hours of activity are enough to sustain a few businesses. One of those lonely outposts is a healthy Dunnes Stores. Given the nature of their clientele, they have adapted to provide a large selection of prepared lunches for the poor folks who work out here. But a little deeper in the store are all the groceries one would expect.

As a 36 short in a suit, it's nigh on impossible to get something to fit me with a slim fit. Here not at all. I got an off the rail three piece with alternations for €600. Not cheap but that suit will do me for years and in fairness the range of suits, brands and level of quality/service was brilliant. If you want someone to talk to about suits ask for Patrick. Anyway found a polo shirt (red), sun glasses (red) and a baseball cap (red) all at a reasonable price. Although I did try and persuade nipper to have a cowboy hat instead but as it had a bit of pink around the brim it was cast aside in disgust despite my pointing out we could change the pink to something which would be more 'tough guy'. Penneys stock is very resourceful, it was the perfect store when I required the appropriate kit for a Rubix Cube Party recently. The idea of the party was that everyone had to adorn clothes that feature each colour seen on a rubix cube. I was very relieved and happy to find all of the colours I required under one roof, each garment a different style to the next. So not only did I manage to get the diverse array of colours together but managed to pick up a miscellaneous range of styles of garments too, those being an orange hoodie, a red polo t-shirt, green leggings, yellow slip-on ballet shoes, blue ribbons and white-rimmed sunglasses - to underline the wide ranging stockpile. Of course, Penneys being Penneys, the total for all of this as well as a few pairs of good quality €2 socks was incredible value for money and from this visit I was massively encouraged to revisit very soon after.

Now I'd be lying if I said I didn't shop here (I am a big Juicy fan), but usually only around Christmas Time when I have some vouchers or something to spend. I'm not crazy about spending €100 on a t-shirt, and you'd be hard done by to find something much cheaper in the shop. They also stock jewellery, underwear and beauty brands like MAC and Benefit. I like to go in even for just a look around, because the shop itself is quite young and funky.

The store was well laid out, bright, clean, organized and stocked will all the goods, fresh and packaged! We popped in after a few snacks to stock our nearby hotel room with and while we had a list of what we were after, I could not help but wander up and down each aisle. Always something new and exciting for me to waste time looking at...and I loved every minute of it! Service was friendly and helpful. Queues were moving quickly, always available staff on the aisles when needed. Only thing is they do not have a public restroom, so just in case you were in need during your trip in. Overall, solid shopping experience at my first Tesco!
