This used to be one of my favorite subs and fries. Tonite I got cranky staff... barely warm fries, (not many for a medium order) and hardly any meat on a large classic Italian. I'll not be back for a long time. $20 for what I got was not worth it. Wasn't even busy.

We had not been to Penn Station in a long time until recently. Last year, we went to a shop in Dayton and I was favorably impressed with their offerings. It clearly was not just another cloned sub shop. It distinguishes itself nicely from the rest. This location is on the western edge of the commercial cluster off I-75 at the Main St. exit nestled in a small strip plaza. We were looking for a quick lunch and we knew this exit offered plenty of choices. This place would have been easy to miss if we had not ventured far enough down Main. This shop had plenty of seating and the service was good. The thing that sets Penn Station apart from other similar sub/sandwich shops is the offering of fries. And their fries are great. For sandwiches, my wife chose the Turkey Avocado sandwich and I opted for the Chicken Teriyaki Wrap. We split the fries. It was quite the satisfying lunch. The bill for our food, drinks (ice tea and water) and tax was $24.03. At basically $12 per person, the value was quite reasonable. My wife was even able to take home half of her sandwich. I will look forward to our next visit to a Penn Station.

Decent lunch today! Sandwich tasted a tad too seasoned but very good nonetheless. Will return for sure!

Good lunch today.. Love the cookies for sure. Sandwich had a tad too much seasoning but was very good .. Will definitely be back.

3 of us here for lunch. I had the cold club sandwich. It had chicken, ham and bacon. It was a good sandwich. Chicken teriyaki - bland and plain, sauce was odd. Reuben - it was a typical Reuben but not on rye. It was a good sandwich. We shared 2 buckets of crispy yummy french fries. Chocolate chip cookie- thick, gooey and delish.

That half pound is way too much for me. I must admit I did have a few of his pretzel bites too, and Maggie had a house salad. The atmosphere screamed local place you want to enjoy.

We sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by our bartender. He immediately offered us waters which was nice and provided menus. I wasn't going to get anything but the jalapeño grits and coconut shrimp from the appetizer menu really peeked my interest. I asked the bartender what he recommended and he said both are amazing but if he had to pick one it would be the grits. Boy was he right! The grit cakes were crispy, perfect amount of spice and the sauce was devine! Each cake was topped with some delicious pulled pork too. I ordered a Mojo Old Fashioned which I was skeptical about because it came to be with a lot of sediment at the bottom of it (sugar I'm sure) but it tasted good. I would get it with no ice next time because the small ice chips were annoying to me (I don't like ice in my drinks though). I'll definitely be returning when I have an emptier stomach so I can grab the grits AND shrimp!
