Many years Penelopes has cared for our dogs. They love spa day. Consistent service and personalized care for our family members without breaking our budget. Thanks Penelopes for being so dependable and great. read more

The staff did an amazing job with our VERY timid pup! Since this was Blanket's first time here, I asked if there were any extra charges for 'difficult' dogs (what another groomer at Petco called my 13 lb shih tzu). The gentleman helping us said that there were no additional fees and that they would take breaks during her hair cut to keep her as calm as possible through the whole thing. When I went to pick her up there were no signs of razor burn on her bum or random bald spots and her nails were nicely trimmed and filed. Plus they added a cute holiday bow to her harness :) Blanket is one happy pup! read more

What an outstanding experience for me and my cat!! She looks like a new kitty, even though she's like a thousand years old!

This place is so awesome and very reasonably priced! Everyone is so sweet and gentle who works there! I will continue to use them for my cat and dog. I recently rescued a German shepherd who is very timid and they were so patient with him and he looked and smelled great when I picked him up . They also did great with my kitty, she is so happy when she gets shaved...I think she feels all fresh and new thank you, staff at Penelope's, I am so glad I can trust someone to treat my animals as sweet as I would. I love Penelope's Parlor! Today was our first time here and I was so pleased with the results. My little Mitzee looked adorable when I picked her up. The best part, was that she was ready in less than 2 hours and didn't have to sit in a cage all day. I am one happy customer and so glad we found this place. No more Petsmart grooming for us! Thank you for the cute red bows and great service! read more

See all

I have taken my dogs here for a decade or more. I had a senior dog with a lot of arthritis at the end of her life. The owner always groomed her and used a calming voice and Sadie was always relaxed and felling better. I now take Boomer and Sammy in. Sammy is a little afraid of other people but he goes willingly in the door. He gets the haircut appropriate for his breed. Boomer was a rescue dog and he was very hyper but always comes out looking great and happy. She's been grooming Boomer for ten years. I trust the staff with my animals 100%. read more

I have been taking my dog Meeka here now for about three years.she always comes back happy and amazingly fluffy and clean.they are always so nice when I come in And accommodatable to get her out with in an hour even when they are really busy.I will always go to Penelope's and I definitely recommend it for your pet read more

The boys were clean and fresh and all for a reasonable price. The people that helped us were also very kind and I felt comfortable leaving my pups with them. We will be back. read more

This place is amazing!!!! I was really scared to take Willow to a different groomer but not only is everyone amazingly nice, but they did a remarkable job as well. She looks perfect and is so soft. I usually have to commute and it's hard to get an appointment with my current groomer so Penelope's Parlor is a huge find for me! Thank you so much for making Willow even more perfect! read more

I took my dog here for grooming and everything including pricing, timing and quality was great! Very friendly staff and a kind grooming team. My baby smelled so good and was happy leaving so I know she was treated well! read more

Hidden Jem! I absolutely love this place. I have been taking my Malta poo here for about three years. $50 for everythinggggg and she always look so fresh and fluffy! Or shaved nicely for a summer cut. They do it all, nails, anal glands , ears , teeth, bath and shave or trim. It seems family owned or has that kinda feel at least. The customer service is awesome. They also take your pups and cats out to the bathroom and on walk breaks! How awesome is that?! You have to try this place! read more

I recently moved to Costa Mesa. It was time to get my mini-schnauzer and pug groomed. I tried Penelope's Parlor right next door to Newport Harbor Animal Hospital where I take the boys. I'm so pleased with the attention they received. They looked and smelled terrific. We'll definitely be heading back to Penelope's Parlor. read more

I can not say enough nice things about Penelope's Parlor! We have a 14-year-old Shitzu who is blind and VERY resistant to strangers picking him up, touching him and especially grooming him. He also has a heart murmur which rules out a lot of sedative options to relax him during grooming. We've taken him to many other groomers and they refused to groom him because he was deemed "aggressive". Penelope's is the only location that has gone above & beyond to help us figure out the best plan of attack to groom him. We are forever loyal Penelope's customers now! Thank you, thank you! read more

Penelopees parlor is top notch! I have seen the video of the disgruntled employee waiting for a slight whine of a dog to quickly post! Lynetta and her staff are amazing! I and all my friends and family have used them for 18 years! There is not a more caring groomer or person. Do not look at the posts of a disgruntled employee who has nothing better to do than try destroy an incredible groomer who is not only talented but is the most caring person I know! I will be referring them a great attorney! Your loss is you don't use her! They're AMAZING read more

They do a great job! We took our dog Stella Blue there for the first time and it was one of the best haircuts she's had. She got a bath as well and the products they use worked very well for her coarse hair. Definitely will be coming back! read more

The most personal touch you can receive from a pet grooming salon. They are extremely accommodating to my dog who is currently receiving chemotherapy and very careful with her too. The entire staff is friendly, responsive and warm. I highly recommend you taking your pet here! read more

Due to this post, the owner and I spoke once again and she did let me know that they were truly sorry for what happened at her facility and conveyed to me how deeply they all love pets there. She was quite sincere and offered to do whatever it took to both make me and Dex feel comfortable to come back and try them again. Since our experience, which she said, is rare with Penelope's, they have instituted a new program to make sure that the animals are fed and walked properly as well as keeping a sign in and out sheet noting when and if they used the restroom when out of their cage. Again, Penelope's has treated Dexter quite well in the past and made him feel like a million bucks. I have no doubt that their clientele love them for all of their hard work and their fair rates. Due to the discussion I had today, I will truly consider going back to Penelope's in the future. Again, this seems like a rare experience and that they do truly care for the animals that come to them, just be sure to double check with them over the holidays to make sure they are advise of your pets needs, and that those needs are met. Overall, good people and a neat little shop. read more

Great fast service. Everyone is friendly and they do quality work. My pom always gets the lion cut. The price is also very good for the service. Thanks guys. Drake is a very happy pup. read more

The staff is friendly, polite, accommodating and they are the absolute BEST dog groomers! I've taken my dogs here for years and have never been disappointed. One of my dogs has very thick, wooly hair. I've tried to blow dry her hair myself so I know how hard it is to deal with. I can't even imagine how they get her so perfect. read more

We love Penelopes Parlor and the entire staff! The entire staff is so caring. They always take such great care of Lilly. Lilly is always cut so nice. Plus, she does not have to wait all day to be groomed...that is the best part! I cannot tell you how pleased we are with Penelopes Parlor. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! read more

This place is wonderful! My Yorkie got skunked and we couldn't get the smell out. We could hardly stand it and I was frantically calling all the groomers in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach on a Monday at 4:30. Most of you probably know that the majority of groomers are closed or getting ready to close at this time. But when I called Penelope's Parlor and explained, they took him. An hour (and three baths later) he was stink-free! They even rinsed his harness. I can't give them a higher recommendation. read more

After several bad experiences at the local Petsmart and Petco for grooming services, I was referred to Penelopes. The staff is friendly and attentive to my dog's needs. My dog always looks amazing after a full grooming, and the slightly higher price is worth it for the extra care my dog gets. I noticed that every time I brought my dog home from Petsmart or Petco, he would come home with fleas acquired from other dogs because the kennels weren't being cleaned often and he would scratch himself like crazy. I've never had that problem with Penelopes; my dog leaves the groomer clean, flea-free, and happy. read more

Love Love this place! We are not new clients, but finally getting around to reviewing. My beuatiful girl Rosebud goes in about every month or so. Being a beautiful blonde Golden Retreiver with lovely long locks....she sheds a ton, and needs to keep her looks up. ;). Rosebud always enjoys going, and the staff are always so happy to see her too! They don't charge all these "Add on's" like the chain Groomers....their prices are actually much more reasonable than them too! Love Penleopes!! Xo read more

I am bringing a little Maltese mix to Penelope's, now for almost half a year. The staff is very friendly and listens and takes good care of the little one. The cuts are very solid and kind of standard so you always know what to expect. My dog is happy :-) read more

The worst. Absolutely the worst customer service. The "manager" there, young lady with the glasses and the colored hair, she will ignore you if you're standing right there, and if you do ask for help, she'll blow up in your face. Everyone else is perfectly pleasant, but this one will ghost you for no reason, no explanation. Avoid. read more

I was surprised to find this location, so conveniently placed next to the vet's! My kitty was crawling with fleas so I had her a flea bath (plus she would go NUTS when I tried to bathe her!!), and they did such a wonderful job; even my Elizabeth was calm the whole time. Also, the staff was SO nice and patient, will be coming back every week or so! Only $45 read more

I picked up Scooter, my 14 1/2 year old Shih tzu/Lhasa today and he looked so cute, I couldn't stop hugging him. He smelled wonderful, too - not "perfumey" - just fresh and clean. Because Scooter is getting older, he drinks a lot of water during the day. When I told the owner, (I'm so sorry,I always forget her name) she assured me she'd see that he had extra and, she added, "We'll take him out a few times as well." I feel like little Scooter is always safe and well-cared for while he's at Penelope's. As we drove home after picking him up, I opened the window for Scooter to look out just to make other drivers smile because he looked so precious with his new haircut and his neatly trimmed ears flapping in the wind. My husband looked at Scooter's face in the side mirror and said, "Cute!" Thanks, Penelope's Parolor! See you next haircut. read more
