I feel they neglected my puppy. The camera was always shut off when I was out of town trying to find him on the camera view. I had to call them to see if my puppy was okay. He did love the doggy daycare but when I picked him up from Bone Adventure Boarding where he stayed two nights on Sunday evening my dog was very ill. He got two ear infections, paws red itchy, and bloody. He seemed traumatized and very ill. I took him to the vet and they had put him on antibiotics, they gave him steroids and allergy shots and it's still 16 days after and his paws are not healed and my puppy is getting worse and lots and lots of vet bills. It is worth it to pay for a dog sitter. read more

It's truly a shame if this review is also removed as all we want to do is prevent others from having to endure the pain and suffering we did due to taking our dog to Bone Adventure. -- Photo 1: Daisy upon pickup from her first overnight stay at Bone Adventure Photo 2: One week later - Daisy's melting cornea, caused by a chemical at Bone Adventure Photo 3: Four weeks later - Daisy after her enucleation (eye removal) There was no bite, scratch, or debris. The doctors suggested this could only have been from a chemical. Staff at BA let Daisy follow them into the laundry room (a RESTRICTED area for dogs) and was on security footage afterwards rubbing her eye. They claim no toxic chemicals were present but just look at the photos. Taking Daisy here was the biggest mistake we ever made and our poor 6 month old puppy lost her eye because of their gross negligence. BEWARE! read more

I had such a great experience here! They took amazing care of my dog, Shay Shay. When I picked her up she smelled incredible and looked so clean and well groomed. You can really tell they take their time and treat the dogs with care. It's always a little nerve-racking leaving your pet somewhere, but they made me feel really comfortable and Shay Shay looked so happy when I picked her up. We had our dog here for boarding Christmas Eve. We chose to return here as we didn't want to leave him overnight for the 3 night minimum the alternative place we use required during this time. Upon arrival today retrieve him before 11 am the smell of anal glands was absolutely overpowering. My husband was waiting in our car out in the parking lot and said he could small it from there. He closed the window as it was so bad. I have been using an alternate place recently as the last time he was here he got a yeast infection in his ear that took almost a year with multiple veterinary visits and medications to get resolved. I accept our responsibility that the breed is susceptible to them and I allowed water play (as I was told he would have to be isolated from the other dogs to keep his ears dry). This time I chose to keep him isolated from the main pack as a precaution. The problem I believe should be looked into was the amount of dogs allowed over the holiday. There had to be 75 dogs just from the camera I could see at drop off. We left him less than 24 hours. I had to give him a bath with the hose in the back yard on a very cold Christmas Day to rid the smell just to allow him back into the house. It permitted every bit of his fur. It wasn't from him as I had just had his glands internally expressed from the vet days before boarding. I usually have my dogs bathed after boarding but didn't think it would be required after a less than 24 hour stay. And it shouldn't have. I know that some dogs have issues with this (trust me) but this was 9/10 gross. Still wouldn't be my first choice to board here as it won't hurt him just icky. I did appreciate that had openings for reservations and no multiple day requirements during the holidays but this really did blow up our holiday. read more

I am new to the area of Huntington Beach and I was looking for somewhere I could take my dog for play dates and perhaps eventually boarding when needed. I found bone adventure, which is not far from where I live. Maverick had a trial play date after applying and filling out all of the paperwork. They have a great indoor outdoor play area for dogs. And a nice surveillance system so you can watch your fur baby play all day. However, he was put on probation for over sniffing, lol? He got bit in the face and came home with a couple punctures, but they said it was because he wouldn't stop getting in another dogs business. ??? OK, I guess I get it? Do you? But overall it was a very clean place and the staff was very accommodating. We may try again. read more

This time we also got a grooming added for Mochi and he came out all fluffy and soft! I would have appreciated more if the front desk lady was a little more polite. Ashamed I've not previously reviewed the Bone. Primarily because the decisions about good loving care for my 23 lb Shiba mix is SO much easier since I found the Bone! He is a handful; delightful with people; somewhat choosy and dominant with intact male dogs regardless of their size. So he's a red bandana guy and they watch him carefully in the population. They truly display affection for him; like Cheers, everybody knows his name. He comes home healthy, with not a bit of stress. By the way, he usually goes to the Backyard. For the first time, he will soon be staying at the Home. He was attacked and sustained significant neck injuries from a bite from an 80 lb pitbull a block from our house on a walk. He still has staples in his neck. With the staff, we decided the Home would be calmer, so he will be there for 3 nights. I'm confident because of all our past experiences. Did I mention he's a happy wanderer? He tries to get out of everywhere; they saved the video of an attempt he once made at the Backyard; it didn't work because their security is tight. I believe due to his stunts he's now a red AND blue bandana guy. I truly believe the Bone is the best boarding facility in the OC, and their prices are justified. read more

They give me full reports of activity and have helped me with my dogs in so many ways including teaching them both to swim! Took my pup here for a temperament test. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They suggested the other Costa Mesa location since he's more active. Bark collars, squirt bottles, cuts on noses and your dog may be ignored by staff. Our dog was boarded for 5 nights at the BAHome in Dec. We had a very reliable recommendation for BAAdventure, but decided on BAHome because she is a small dog and by reading the website, it seemed like the better fit. Mistake... I guess. We dog daycared her a couple times before our trip at this location, she seemed to like it and was excited to walk up to the place. So we were relieved to go on our trip. I watched the webcam everyday, multiple times(I am disabled and take many rests during the day) and for the most part she seemed in good spirits even though they squirted her with water bottles, squeezed their hands around her snout and for 3 out of the 5 days they put a bark collar on her that was almost as big as she was. Half of the staff treated her as good as they did other dogs and half ignored her. All the dogs would get pets and sometimes she did, but mostly ignored. (Maybe other people paid extra to get pets and treats for their dogs) She is a sweet dog, but has a strong bark and prefers the company of people. I know she is not a perfect dog, but not anymore annoying than other dogs I saw on the webcam. I tried to take screenshots of the incidents, but it doesn't allow you to. When she came home she was great, no problem except for the cut on her nose. If there is a next time I will try BAAdventure. I only wrote this because people should know what to expect when visiting this location on the small dog side. read more

First time visit for Temperament Test for Maximus. This is a dawg interview to see how he reacts to other dawgs, to determine how temperamental Maximus can be. Located on Superior, it is very easy to get to from the 55. This is a smaller location than the one on Bristol. It is meant more for dogs who need to be around less energetic dogs. Parking is limited since it is a small property, however, once you go into the office, you are greeted with a friendly HELLO & Smile. On this day, Emilie & Monique were at the front desk. I checked in with Emilie while Monique gave me much needed information regarding day care. Emilie was my main contact throughout & it was a pleasure. I left Maximus for 2 hours. Upon my return, I was greeted by Emilie who advised me Maximus did just fine. So he PASSED! YAY! Emilie answered all my inquiries & gave me a lot of information. So WOOHOO! it IS as good as it gets! BTW, I chose Bone Adventure because both have OUTDOOR play & water areas for Maximus to enjoy. Maximus came back wet, I could see he had a great time. Happy Dawggy Day Care and Fight On! read more

I take my dog Bruce to the Bone Backyard every weekday while I'm at work. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in. Bruce goes nuts when we drive into the parking lot and oftentimes I feel like he would rather be at The Bone Adventure than with me! My boy is treated like a king when he is there. I love the Bone Adventure and I can't say enough good things about it. I would highly, highly recommend this place for your dogs to stay for daycare and or boarding. read more

Big mistake, not at all what we'd hoped for. They came really highly recommended and decided to go through the temperament check visit with our 2 6 month old pups. The facility looks amazing unfortunately for us It was overwhelming and chaotic. Misinformation when we picked them up to the point that the manager on duty told us one of our dogs bit someone. We were shocked to hear that (but knew not impossible because any dog could) so we asked for him to come back out and tell us more about it and he said he was mistaken and it wasn't our dog that bit someone. Then once we got home we saw a cut under our dogs eye ... so I guess we'll never know what actually happened. Now guessung he was actually bit but the Manager didnt want to tell us this so they wouldn't lose business. Also while the place was huge and ample staffed it felt very unorganized as for the registration process. It was too much having new dogs coming in, filling out too much paperwork to try and manage the dogs on a leash in the same area where dogs are being dropped off and running a retail location. Definitely don't recommend for puppies or anyone who feels there dog would be overwhelmed with so many dogs at one time. Lesson learned, we'll stick with housesitters! read more

They have the BEST customer service I have ever experienced and they are just top notch! My dog LOVES it here! He comes home and he sleeps for days! Love the bone adventure! I've been bringing my American Staffordshire terrier pitbull mix to this location and he loves it here! Spooky is a high energy puppy who loves everyone and bringing him to daycare let's him achieve his puppy dreams! A few things I love about this location: -Live video feed I love that I can watch him while I'm working or away for the day. -Safety He can be a handful so I appreciate that the staff is constantly checking on him if he's starting to do parkour or have the extreme zoomies. I feel safe knowing the staff is confident in doggy behavior. He's energetic not aggressive -TLC The staff truly care about the well-being of our dogs I have had the staff call me on very sunny days and ask if they can put sunblock on Spooky because he does get sunburnt/pink. Those little things are what us dog parents would do for our dogs and the staff is already looking out for them. A little bonus that I appreciate as well is the offer to dry your dog before leaving if your dog was playing in the pool. To sum it up I feel like it's very hard to find a doggy daycare that I feel safe leaving my dog at especially with Spooky's breed. A lot of daycare's don't except Pitbulls or Staffys. Exceeded my nervous pup momma expectations for the first grooming (bath, nail trim, and hair cut)!! My five-month puppy was in need of her first hair cut and like any nervous pup momma I did my research and found the Bone Adventure. The reviews consistently had a theme of: "my dog runs in and loves it here" and I saw that with my own eyes! Every dog that came in was trying to get in faster than the owners could check them in and once in were bouncing with joy. I knew my puppy was in good hands. The groomers were thorough, knowledgeable, and experts in cutting hair. They recommended the hair length and my puppy like herself but improved and ready for the heat. They took it a step above by telling me how she was feeling during the process - that she was welcoming and ambivalent of shears but initially anxious of buzzers, and that she wanted to meet everyone in the various rooms. That's my girl through and through! They really got to know my puppy and that speaks volumes to me. While I am an out of towner and used the grooming session as a way to spend half a day doing things only humans can do (museums, meetings, etc) I will definitely bring back my puppy here next time I am in town (which is often!). Some logistics: the place is easy to find, has its own large parking lot, and has coffee shops and restaurants nearby (at the cabin complex) to pass time for you. You can also pop in and see your pup from the window when she's not being groomed! Price: the price quoted on the phone by the front desk may not be representative of the actual cost for a bath and grooming; there's a slight difference because it's based upon the actual groomer. So be prepared to not pay "as quoted" and remember your puppy was in amazing hands and is better looking because of it! read more

They also feed your pets their food (Nutro) for a fee. +They are open seven days a week. +Your orientation involves a full tour of the boarding, daycare and grooming facilities, allowing you to see exactly what your pet is going to encounter. +They require your pet to be altered and current on rabies, parvo, bordatella and other communicable diseases. +Their personality test is progressive and fair, in a controlled environment. +Their prices are reasonable for the services they provide. +They offer a pick-up and drop-off shuttle service for an additional fee. +They offer webcams that you can view online to see what your pet is up to. +Poop and pee is cleaned up quickly. +Staff interacts with dogs throughout the day. +The inside of the facility is nicely air-conditioned, and on hot days, shallow kiddie pools are available for dogs to take dips in. -They have a discriminatory enrollment policy. No "breeds prone to aggression," which we all know is crap. -Parking is a pain in the butt, but not totally horrible. -The only way inside and outside from the indoor play area to outdoor play area in the small dog area is through a doggy door. This review is for the grooming. This was my first time at this location. We always go to the Bristol location and have never had a bad experience. We dropped off our Goldendoodle for a haircut, and we asked that his face be trimmed more than usual. We were told he would be ready in 2-3 hours. After four hours of not hearing anything, we tried calling and could not reach anyone. We tried calling ten minutes later. They said he would be ready in ten minutes. When we arrived, his face looked like it hadn't even been touched. He still had dirty fur on the top of his head. We asked the groomer to take more off and showed him exactly how much. He took him back for twenty minutes to fix him, but it was still not what we wanted. At this point, our dog's grooming appointment had taken almost five hours. I spent another hour when we got home shaving his face, head, and neck down. Upon further inspection, I found that his fur was dirty in multiple places still. I'm not even sure they gave him a bath. I can't believe the haircut cost $100. This place was overall very unprofessional. The front desk girl had her friend hiding in the corner to keep her company. We will never go back. read more

I don't usually take time to write a review but I was beyond ecstatic with the grooming of Efren! Amazing is all I can say. I rescued my maltipoo in December and the foster parents decided to dye her fur red and green for the holidays. The horrible part was that she this was not washable it was permanent. You can imagine the looks and stares I got walking down the street with a dog with bright red ears and a bright green tail! I asked several groomers to get out the color and they couldn't. Low and behold I went to pick Luna up on Thursday and no more red or green! I was so happy I cried thank you so much to the crew at the bone adventure especially Efren so appreciate you and your services!! read more
