Best pizza I've ever had. Amazing service and such a cute vibe! We will definitely be back!

A quick trip to Tucson and noted the recent reviews from the locals about Penelope Pizza. The building has a warehouse feel with benches, tables, couches or high top that are spread out. They have a chill vibe and an eclectic clientele. We ordered the large green salad with parmesan, home made warm croutons, and a ceasar dressing. It was delicious, crisp and tasty. The pizza was the Nina with house red sauce, red onions, ezzo pepperoni, mozzarella and house sausage. The dough was perfect, a bit of char and the perfect chew. The center was limp but overall very good. If you are in Tucson, treat yourself to a very good pie with perfect crust. Two thumbs up to Penelope Pizza, we are glad we stopped. read more

We've been wanting to try this place, so did a girls night to celebrate my birthday. It's a small place, but held our group of 10 just fine. It is a busy place! So, I stumbled on a Reddit thread about best pizza in Tucson and Penelope came up a couple times... and I LOVE pizza. Like, I literally ate pizza every day on my various trips to Italy. Penelope sits in shared space with Cartel Roasting Co. And the inside is welcoming and open/airy which I like. We ordered the Penelope House salad and a couple of pies - Margherita and Spicy Jim which are wood fired. Besides the salad being absolutely delicious (I've never seen my husband inhale arugula), the pizza was gold standard for me. I was transported back to Rome eating Margherita pizza at various cafes comparing and doing taste tests. The dough here is perfection and the sauce just the right amount of tangy. Chatted with Manny for a bit who is clearly passionate about Penelope , the pizza and we could taste it in the food. Look, I know different peeps like different pizzas for a variety of reasons but this pizza is my kinda pizza and Reddit posters did not steer us wrong! read more

Great date night at Penelope. The food and service don't disappoint! I highly recommend this cute little restaurant. We love the friendly vibe without being so loud you can't talk and hang out with friends and family. This was our date night and I highly recommend this yummy friendly atmosphere read more

Good food, took a little longer than I expected but that's cause they were short staffed overall not terrible.

I ate here on Friday for a birthday party. The service was pretty slow and we had to flag the servers down multiple times for all moments of our time here: to order drinks, to order food, and to pay. That being said, it was a busy night and we were a large party. My drink (clear negroni) and the wood-fire pizzas were really good! I was able to try several pizza's: Figgy Piggy (my favorite), OTC, and Pammy. I also love the vibe of the place with all the plants. I will be back to give this place another try maybe for date night. I love that there's a cute date spot on the east side! read more

Great pizza and bartenders. I ordered an OTC with cannolis to go and ordered a beer while I waited. Bartenders were friendly and the pizza came just as I finished my beer. Hit happy hour so $2 off my beer. Pizza was delicious and the cannolis were yummy I got one of each. I will be back to try a new pie. read more

Cool, casual space that you just want to hang out, eat pizza and drink coffee all day. The pizza is wonderful, tasty toppings and a crust that I want to finish. This is a must go try! read more

I've had my eye on this place for the last year and have been specifically wanting to try their pasta night. I finally had a Tuesday night off so I prioritized pasta night, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. First off, line was ridiculous. Good for them though, that should mean the food is worth waiting for. Wait was about an hour from standing in line to getting our first dish. Our first dish was a loaf of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and the bread was delicious. Springy, and with good sourdough flavor. Then the pasta, which was the most al dente thing I've ever had, borderline raw. When I took a bite and looked at the center, it looked like raw pasta and was pretty crunchy. Three of our four pasta dishes were like that. For the price and the wait, not worth those dishes. The best thing about this whole dinner was the dessert. That alone was 5/5 stars. I will be back for some Okashi pastries, but not for pasta night. read more

After numerous recommendations from friends, we finally made our way to this absolute gem of a pizza place on a rainy Sunday evening. All hustle and bustle when we walked in but we were seated quickly with 4 adults and two toddlers. Appetizers were delicious; meatballs and hot baked pizza dough and the Hazy IPA and Sav Blanc were thoughtfully selected and perfectly paired for the menu. It's a bit loud but what good pizza joint isn't? The pizzas were scrumptious across the board and we had three. Pepperoni was covered with thinly sliced rounds, the Margherita was spot on, and the Nina was our favorite. The crusts are all thin and well charred and they all came out piping hot. Just go! read more

I made reservations for my dining group of 18 for dinner on February 14, 2026. Unfortunately, I was the last one to arrive, which made it difficult to challenge the dining options. I was told that we would be indoors. However, my group was seated outdoors, in a very tight space. I must admit that our numbers increased a few days prior to the reservation. However, I did in fact speak with the restaurant the night before and nothing was said about being seated outdoors on two picnic tables designed to seat about 6 people comfortably, not 9. Besides being very cramped it was quite cold outside. They did provide two tall heaters that did very little to evade the cold. Nonetheless the wait staff were really very good. They were constantly checking on us and provided excellent service. A few of us ordered olive appetizers that was really nice and spicy. Everyone enjoyed them. We also ordered several different pizzas, the OTC, Figgy Piggy, Spicy Jim along with the normal choices of pepperoni and sausage. The pizzas had great flavor. However, the crusts were extremely soggy and wet, particularly in the middle. You couldn't pick it up without it drooping and dropping toppings everywhere. The knives that were provided couldn't cut the crust either, so it was somewhat of a mess to eat. Many of us ordered drinks, particularly Margaritas, and were disappointed with the size of the glassware used. Very small glasses for a margarita, although the cost was less than most restaurants. Overall my group was disappointed with many aspects of this dining experience and the majority stated they would not return for a second one. read more

Not your run-of-the-mill pizza place. Unique pizza toppings/sauces, yummy salads and great customer service.

I am reviewing this place strictly for their lasagna. I know they are a pizza joint, but the pizza is just okay. Nothing special and nothing memorable. The lasagna though is absolutely on point. They nailed it. I would come back any day of the week just for that dish alone. One hundred percent worth it. My only complaint is the size of the restaurant. There is almost always a wait on weekends read more

I stopped in for 2 to go pizzas & was impressed with the building, bar & ambiance. Taylor was the friendly, professional, pleasant bartender who took my order, it was just after they opened at 3:20pm on a Wed with only a couple of other customers seated. Taylor provided great conversation & answers to questions while I waited at the bar. While waiting for my pizzas, I ordered a craft brew from their great selection of brewers & styles. I also noticed they have an awesome selection of additive-free artesenal tequilas & some other nice spirits not commonly found. The Wood-fired oven cranked out my pizzas in a few minutes & I was good to go. I enjoyed them with family & we all agreed they were both well made pies Neopolitan style with quality ingredients & attention to detail. I look forward to returning to try more of their food & sit down to sample some more of their great drink selections. 4 stars only because I didn't stay to eat & enjoy more conversation with Taylor & check out the ambiance more, & they were just opening for the day read more

Ordered delivery from Penelope while staying at the JW Marriott Starpass over 4th of July weekend. We spent ALL DAY at the pool, and come dinner time, we were craving pizza. Unfortunately, we couldn't really leave the hotel because they were sold out, and parking was at 100% capacity as well. If we left the hotel for takeout, we would have come back with NO WHERE to park. Penelope's to the rescue with delivery!! We ordered 6 pizzas. Pepperoni, cheese, sausage/pepperoni, margherita, and the Pammy. We loved all of the pizzas. In the future, I would ask for them to a bit more crispy. It was great find a new pizza place in Tucson!! read more

Everything was fantastic. They have team service so someone is always making sure things are moving along. Parking doesn't have lines yet but maybe in the future. Cocktails are on the pricier side but the Penelope spritz was so refreshing. The bread and spread was soooo good, add some red pepper flakes for a tiny kick and it's perfection. The bread is so fluffy and delish. We ordered vegetarian since the meat pizzas all had some form of pork. We got the Caesar salad which was delicious and had spicy homemade croutons. The lasagna was the star, 10 layers, lemon basil ricotta, and even better the next day. The pammy was a delicious pizza and I love the crust. Overall everything was so good and I will be back. Excited to have it on the east side. Also there were tvs at the bar if you want to catch a game. read more

To was happy to try this pizza spot out as my husband and I are looking for a new go-to when it comes to pizza, on the east side. The location off of Kolb was convenient. Walking in on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy. It's a smaller space but with plenty of dinning space. My husband and I sat at the bar, where there were 4 TVs, 3 on playing different things (one sports, one "the office", and the other the POV of someone walking in Japan). We ordered an appetizer, but I can't remember the name. I searched the menu online to find it just now and it's not on there. The pizzas also seem to be off since my husband orders the Jackie Luna and the menus in the restaurant said jalapeño, which it doesn't say on the online menu. I also don't think they put pineapple drizzle on his. Not sure what the reason for the discrepancy but it seems their online menu may be different than the in person one. The pizzas were good. They're thin but not charred and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. I'd love to try more of their pizza flavors. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while but do not live on the Eastside. I will be making the trek way more often. The food, drinks, ambiance and service were amazing. The chicken Parmesan pasta was perfectly flavored with a great marinara sauce. The pizza was so tasty. The burrata with heirloom tomatoes, pesto and balsamic drizzle was creamy and delicious. Thanks again for the top notch service that I thoroughly enjoy when I go out to eat. read more

One of the best pizzas I've had! It was cool seeing a pizza restaurant in the coffee shop. The dough was what stood out. It had the perfect amount of yeastyness and had a really addictive chewy texture to it. I love pineapple pizza so I immediately ordered the Jackie Luna which has a pineapple drizzle on it which added the subtle sweet essence of it. The pepperoni was high quality and the flavors all meshed well. Service is phenomenal and everyone was super nice. I'll definitely come back! read more

Although we waited over an hour to see what all the hype was about (with an impatient 9 month old & 5 year old), I can truly say it was worth the wait. Our favorite dishes were the meatballs, the bread & sauce & the tiramisu. The inside decor had a hipster vibe set to the perfect playlist - I actually Shazam'd several songs while there. My only complaint was the fly situation...but I'm chalking it up to being seated right next to the door, it being summer & the flies wanting in on the yummy food. The staff was so personable & accommodating. They really took care of us since we had to wait so long. We left wanting to be friends with all of them in real life. We'll be back! read more

Ate at their Eastside location last night. It was crazy-busy, and we had a bit of a wait.. but the pizza is about as good as one can get. Seriously good stuff. I also tried one of their signature cocktails (a smokey mescal martini) that was fantastic. read more

Pizza was outstanding. Really unique and fun pizza options and the meatballs were great as well. Had the tiramisu for dessert and it was also amazing. Servers were friendly so 5/5 stars for sure. Will definitely be back read more

Penelope has moved from downtown tucson to Broadway and Kolb on the Eastside. Their new location has been a curse for past restaurants. Several businesses have shuttered at this location, but Penelope is here to stay. The pizza is wood fired and and the flavors are phenomenal. I highlyrecommend the OTC pizza, which has pepperoni, ricotta, cheese, and Mike's hot honey. They serve beer, wine, and unique cocktails. They recently opened at their new location, so expect long wait times. The food was slow to come out, but it was worth the wait. Cheers! read more

We went to this place with friends because they do a gluten-free crust if you order 24 hours in advance, and one of our friends has dietary restrictions. When we got there, it was packed. A good sign for a Wednesday night, we thought. We were seated in less time than they quoted. Also good. Holy hell, though, the service was so slow. I get that they were slammed, and I'm usually pretty patient with those things. It's just that our pizzas took over an hour to arrive after we were seated. During that time, we got one drink refill and a new water pitcher, but no one updated us on what was going on with the food or otherwise said anything about the delay. This place doesn't assign servers to a table, which I think is a recipe for your table to get skipped over. Still, I was excited to try the pizza. My partner ordered the O.T.C., and I ordered the Jackie Luna. Both looked great when they arrived but were ultimately just... fine. The cheese and toppings seemed very fresh, which made the ricotta-heavy O.T.C. the standout. The Jackie Luna was bland except for the maybe two jalapenos that came per slice, and I didn't detect any hint of the pineapple drizzle that was supposed to come with it. My biggest complaint, though, was with the crust. It was dry and just overall lacking in flavor, plus there were quite a few burnt bits that were inedible. There is better pizza available in this town. While we're at it, there is better pizza at much better prices. This place is cute, but everything costs at least a few dollars more than it seems like it should. Cocktails, even basic ones like your standard margarita, are $16 a pop. That's crazy for Tucson. You can go to a fancy cocktail bar downtown and pay $11-13 for a drink. The combo of okay food, slow service, and high prices means this one wouldn't be on my list of places to return except for one reason: the gluten-free crust. I am not gluten free, but I tried a bite of that thing and wow. It's not really a pizza crust so much as a dressed focaccia bread, but it was amazing. I would go back for that. read more

Wow, Penelope's pizza is absolutely fantastic! We try to get there early to avoid the huge crowds that eat here. Our table had a good view of the young chef who spun and flung the pizza dough in the air quite skillfully before adding generous toppings and baking it in a wood-fired pizza oven. What a performance! We'll definitely be back! read more

We had reservations to celebrate my birthday, and the food was amazing!! We tried the OTC, Figgy Piggy, Sgt. Pepper, Spicy Jimmy, my favorite was was the Figgy Piggy. Ambiance was nice and not too noisy. Definitely recommend and will be going back!! read more

Amazing food and drinks!!! Highly recommend this place I was extremely impressed! Chicken Parmesan was to die for!

Excellent pizza with sourdough thin crust and a gluten free option (have to order that a day in advance). Very good service, fast and friendly. The gluten free crust was great, but more like a focaccia style, in contrast to the thin crust for the regular pizza. Most of us liked it, but one thought it was too thick. I loved the creative combos of flavors. The appetizers were great - meatballs most excellent and the Burrata & Tomato was yummy. Ambience was casual and a bit noisy but relaxing. Overall a great experience. read more

Great new pizza place in town. Was previously the location of Firetruck pizza and a few others. Recommended! 5* = A top favorite. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient or the only option. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all.
