We have a two year old and we basically had to drag him out he wanted to stay there all day. There is soft play area where there's no shoes where the very little ones can crawl around and play with big pillows and soft sticks. There's a big yarn thing to climb on. There's a big water area for them to play with pipes and running water. There's a few big tables and pits with hundreds of legos, a book corner, and a big floor to ceiling interactive screen room which was amazing. There's also an outside area with rock walls and climbing areas. You can park your stroller at the start where there are bathrooms and hand washing area as well as a place to fill your water bottles. The museum itself was really nice with multiple floors of interesting topics from dinosaurs to space to an earthquake simulator. I think for those floors it's best to be 3-4 or older. Everything is still very stroller accessible!

A perfect spot to get a little culture in between meals. Honestly, a must hit for out of town visitors looking for something fun to do that does not involve eating. The DMA has a supporter membership for $120. It includes parking which would cost you $20 otherwise. You also get two free admission tickets that you can use to view the museum's collections or any special exhibitions each and every day of the year. The membership will also provide a discount at the museum store and in the snack bar. Visit twice during the year, and the membership more than pays for itself. You can buy your membership online, print the receipt, and show it for free parking. Once inside the venue, show the receipt at the check-in desk to get your free tickets to the special exhibit(s). Your DMA cards will be mailed to you in four weeks, in the mean time, use that printed receipt for everything. We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!

There are bold colors, unusual patterns, sculptures, optical effects and endless little artistic details mixed into the fall scenery. It's also incredibly photogenic, so expect to take LOTS of pictures. If you're visiting Dallas this fall or looking for something seasonal to do in DFW, Harvest Hues is definitely worth experiencing in person. It runs through November 1, 2026, so don't wait too long!

I was misled and thought there was a mechanical bull.. there is not unfortunately but there is like a fake bull you can pay and take photos with. We happened to walk in right in the middle of a line-dancing class, which was super fun to watch! It's pretty amazing how quickly the dancers, both men and women, picked up the steps and choreography. They were all super good! Afterwards, it transitioned into open floor dancing, which was equally entertaining in my opinion! As a first-timer, it was a total blast and it's easy to see why it's such an iconic tourist destination. We didn't end up eating here since we had just grabbed dinner at Cattlemen's nearby, but the BBQ and other food options here didn't look super appetizing. On Sunday September 20th, 2026 during the Dallas Cowboys football game staff stopped allowing fans in through security checkpoints. Security closed the gates stating we are going inside because of approaching bad weather and lightning strikes nearby. I stated to security "so you're going inside and leaving us out here in the open"? A Dallas Cowboy employee directed paying ticket customers to stand under trees by the entrance? Complete stupidity, we all learned you don't stand under trees in electrical storms when we were in kindergarten. The Dallas Cowboys should be ashamed of themselves leaving fans outside as heavy rain approached and dangerous lightning strikes fell upon the area. They admitted the danger by pulling security and closing checkpoints and leaving paying customers stranded at the entry gates under trees. My wife and I said screw this as the line grew for entry and we decided to leave before it started to rain. Keep in mind most people park a mile or two from the stadium and walk. After about 20 minutes of walking towards our car it started to rain and lightning became more intense. Thankfully security at the "National Medal of Honor Museum" gave us shelter out of the weather. We didn't even have to buy a ticket. Imagine that the "Medal of Honor Museum"providing a safe place for someone needing shelter with a fast approaching storm and charges nothing. We waited out the storm for about 45 minutes here. On the other hand America's so called team "The Dallas Cowboys" sells you a ticket, leaves you stranded outside with approaching bad weather to save themselves, leaving paying ticketed fans stranded and in harms way. What I learned yesterday is the AT&T Stadium and the Dallas Cowboys staff from top to bottom believes in every man, woman, and child for themselves. If the ships going down they will not put you in a life raft, drowning in a pool they will not throw you a life ring. Imagine a tornado approaching AT&T Stadium and security closes the gates and runs inside locking the doors to save themselves. That is what they will do because I've seen how they react with approaching bad weather first hand. This is what happened September 20th, 2026 to every Dallas Cowboy Fan trying to get to the game and seek shelter before the storm arrived. "America's Team"? I think not!

I didn't go for a game, just wandered through, but even without a crowd it had that big Texas energy. You can feel the history in the bones of the place--like it's still whispering old Rangers games to itself while gearing up for a rugby scrum or high school football showdown. The architecture is part ballpark, part modern facelift, and part "we're figuring it out as we go." I kind of loved it. It was quiet the day I visited, but the views were wide open and the breeze rolled through like it had season tickets. From the upper deck, you can see the whole Arlington entertainment zone laid out like a buffet--Texas Live!, AT&T Stadium, all of it. Choctaw might not be the headliner anymore, but it's still in the show--and it's got charm, history, and a little grit left in the stands.

It's been around for a while, the brick ball park is becoming a thing of the past. When the Rangers moved across the street, I was excited to know that they weren't taking this one down. It's a beautifully aged ball park. One memory is of being in the park for opening day of the Rangers where they set a record for the coldest opening day for the Rangers at 31 degrees. It was cold, but it was fun. The vendors are plentiful and the views are great. Walking up top, you can look over the brick wall and see across the area, it's a beautiful view. The baseballs out front are a great touch. A lot the outside accessible areas are becoming restaurants, stores, and offices. It's still a beautiful ball park.
