I've been meaning to try Pelicana for a while now and I'm so glad I finally got the chance to! The fried chicken here is so crispy on the outside and so juicy and tender on the inside. I loved the honey soy flavor and had ordered the crispy mixed in whole fried chicken, yumm!! The garlic fries were crispy and more saucy and sweet than I thought, but I still enjoyed it. Service was really friendly, the employees made sure to keep checking on us, the food came out fairly quick. I had some pelicana chicken delivered last night and was not disappointed! This was my first time trying them and will definitely be van I ordered the crispy chicken wings (sauce on the side), steamed rice, and peli cheese balls! On the side I asked for Signature sauce and hot & spicy sauce. The chicken was nice and crispy, even after delivery! I'm about a 20ish minute ride away from Pelicana, so i was pleasantly surprised at how crispy the wings still were! Both sauces were good, but i felt like the signature was a little too sweet for my taste. I ended up mixing both sauces together and using them that way! I do like that you can order the sauces in little packets and try a variety. I definitely will try a couple different sauces best time. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the peli cheese balls! They were interesting. The texture was nice and chewy and the cheese was tasty. It has some sweetness on its coating that I wasn't expecting, but I enjoyed them. The name fooled me; Pelicana Chicken is a Korean style fried chicken, wings, and beer place. When a friend told me what it was, I was excited to try it. We went during the week in the evening. The decor was cool, and the interior was very clean and organized. We ordered the Corn Cheese, 9 Piece Chicken Wings, and of course some Cass Korean Beer. They also included free Cabbage Salad. Been to a couple Pelicanas before this but this opened up near the crib, this is where the Nguyen's Kitchen was btw. Came here pretty close to them closing, maybe 45 min before (my fault). Despite that, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Mayo and chopped lettuce came to the table shortly after we sat. We ordered the 18 pc Soy Honey + Original Chicken wings with the Kimchi Fried rice on the hot plate. The food came out fast and we were able to dig in, the servers kept telling us to take our time while cleaning around our table. Both flavors are pretty solid with ranch as well, I would give that a try if you want a bit more flavor on the original. The space looks great, clean interior, lots of seating when it gets busy, and outdoor seating at the patio available since this plaza does get a bit busy. This chain has been around since 1982 and still thrieving. Everyone has different taste for like for fried chicken but I personally like Pelicana chicken better than other chains from Korea. Ambiance of this location was on point. I loved the wall art and layout of the restaurant. We went on a Sunday night and they were pretty busy with both take out and dinining in customers. I was happy to see mix of asian crowd and non-asian crowd (which means korean chicken is loved by every race). I love when chicken places have happy hour and this place has good happy hour and drink specials for Hallasan (buy 2 get 1 free). We ordered 18 piece original wings along with oninon rings and fries to start and pitcher of Stella and bottle of Soju to drink with side sauce of hot spicy. The owner and the worker is super friendly and kept asking us if we needed anything else. Owner actually recognized my aunt since she had been there couple times for togo. I love it when even though its take out they remember you it makes you welcomed. We wanted to try their chicken gizzard and had to order little more fried food so ordered sweet potato fries. Overall experience was great and I will definitely return. And for those who is new to korean chicken this is the spot you must check out. First time here and probably our last - here's my experience : recently ordered takeout and got the whole fried chicken WITH sauce from their menu which they're already charging extra for the sauces. Only accommodation I asked for is "sauce on the side" so it wouldn't be soggy by the time we got home. While picking up my order, I realized they had only given me one small pouch of sauce. It's like same size as the spread from In N Out, no way it's enough for the whole chicken. I asked the server for extra sauces and explained that i got the whole chicken WITH sauce (which I already paid extra for). He reluctantly gave me ONE more pouch and said that they would normally charge extra for sauces. I didn't expect that and caught me off guard. I get that if it was just a few pieces or half a chicken, but a whole chicken and you guys were going to charge extra for sauces? He even said it like he was doing me as a favor and generously gave me a second bag without charge. I've never gotten that from any other restaurants that I've been to. It's the oldest brand and the taste is different for each branch, but the Chino branch is good at cooking. This is a pretty popular fried chicken chain in Korea. I was surprised to see it in the States. They have various flavors for the fried chicken such as soy, honey soy, garlic, smoky chili, and powdered cheese flavor. I chose to get the boneless whole chicken ($34) in garlic sauce, a cup of gangjung ($8), boneless chicken feet ($30), cheese buldak ($25), and chicken sandwich with fries in white garlic sauce ($13) for my family and I. Since they recently opened, they had a special of free cheeseballs with a $30+ purchase. The chicken was moist and the extra crispy breading was not soggy when I got home. The garlic sauce was not too saucy or thick. The breading was crispy and the sauce clung to the chicken well. I also got the boneless chicken feet (dakbal) which is hard to find in Korean restaurants in the states. Loads of sliced onions, chili, and cabbage in a thick and spicy sauce. It had a good amount of heat, I have a good heat tolerance so it might be too much for my parents. I didn't ask if they can adjust the heat level to the chicken feet. The cheese buldak had plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, sliced chili, onions with chunks of chicken. It had a good heat to it. The chicken sandwich was a large portion with sliced cabbage in a white garlic sauce. My brother chose it and said that the dressing was a sweet mayo sauce and did not taste the garlic in it. The fries were good and crispy. I got the small cup of gangjung which is boneless chicken in an sweet and kinda spicy sauce with small pieces of fried tteok (rice cakes). I do like their cheese balls, it's very chewy with melted mozzaralla cheese. It's slightly sweet from the chewy dough they use. I do wish they had sotteok sotteok or tteokkochi with fried chicken. I got it to go and the saucy items were well protected. The place is clean and a good amount of seating. The staff is nice, the wait time was not long. read more

We stumbled upon this place because we were supposed to go somewhere else for lunch but the line was too long. I'm surprised I didn't try this place earlier. Nice and pretty hip ambiance with great selection of food and drinks. Even when you want to have a bite and hang out, they offer all those options. i've ordered togo from this location plenty of times. i like how they send you text messages when your food is ready for pickup. i always get their ban ban chicken with honey soy. their regular chicken has a lot of flavor and it still so crispy even as to go! the honey soy is my favorite sauce. it's the perfect blend of sweet and salty. i wish they gave more radish on the side though. pretty good portions! inside has plenty of seating, i'll have to try eating here in person one day read more

There are a lot great things i can say about this place. They have a bar that you can sit at if you wanna go to just have a drink and watch a game. They have soju with different flavors which is nice. Now the other MVP of the food are the sauces. The sauces are super rich with flavor. I suggest that you get the garlic sauce and the soy honey sauce. Super good. They also have a special that's 40 bucks with 18 pieces of chicken, two sauces, fries, and you can add cheese balls for five more dollars. You're gonna spend that much anyway if you come with a group so just get that anyway fill you up and save money.
