Chinese takeout kind of night . I spotted this little spot on my way home from work and figured, why not? No dine-in here--no tables, no chairs--just point, pick your combo, and head home with your feast. I grabbed the 3-entree combo: 1. Fried rice/noodles - solid, nothing to complain about. 2. Orange chicken - your standard go-to, nothing mind-blowing. 3. Sweet pork - fatty, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect (in a good way). 4. Sautéed eggplant - the MVP of the night, packed with flavor. All that for $16. Portion sizes aren't the giant "barely-close-the-box" type, but still plenty for dinner. Not the flashiest Chinese spot out there, but if you want quick, tasty, and easy on the wallet, this one gets the job done.

I give this place 4/5 it was good than I expected. The whole combo was seasoned well. Orange Chicken was cooked well and the broccoli was crunchy good and not over cooked. Bbq pork was also seasoned well. It was soft and easy to eat. The Eggplant with Tofu was well cooked. I like it. The attendant was helpful and served the fast. . Inside was ok, well lighted and good table spaces.

Me and my friends come here RELIGIOUSLY every time we meet up in the area and I can tell you for a fact that it never misses. Food is great, workers are always greeting us with a smile, and the amount of bang for your buck is unreal. If you want to try some great Chinese food then this would be my recommendation!

We got chow mein, jalapeno chicken, teriyaki chicken, and BBQ pork for a quick meal today, and here's our quick recap: 1. BBQ Pork: definitely good - we both agreed! Slightly sweet, and you can taste the spices, but savory and tender! Great flavor, easy to eat. 2. Jalapeño Chicken: savory with a nice jalapeno flavor, but not very spicy. Good! 3. Chow Mein: ok - it did the job. 4. Teriyaki Chicken: the flavor was ok, but not great. Some parts were pretty dry and hard, so I would rather try something else next time. Overall? Definitely try their BBQ pork! Jalapeño chicken was solid. Maybe pass on the teriyaki chicken. We didn't have any wait, and got our food quickly, so it definitely did the trick for us today. :)

The food was old, tasted like it was from hours earlier and the meat had a nasty after taste. I asked the lady to give me 3 egg rolls and only gave me 2 she was stingy with the hot sauce. The food was so bad we had to throw it away and buy something else for dinner. Never coming back!!

We recently discovered this place and I have been living in the valley for most of my life. They have great food for a very affordable prices. My go to is the bbq pork and chicken curry. The owners are very nice and aren't shy with their portions.

I got this and it was so good

Customer service and food rice was soggy. The curry was not good. The orange chicken was dried and old.

Does anybody know if this place is now open? They had closed it. Not sure if they were fixing the place up.. I miss their delicious food there 😩😩

YES they are open & everything is great there. A car smashed thru the front window & they are making some repairs, but they're back open !!! YEA !!!

What happened to this place? Its been closed then open then closed, boarded up. Then it looks like the boards got cut into and now the whole strip is up for sale or rent, not sure. It seemed to be a good and busy little spot. Seems a shame.

It seems that in October of 2019 there was a car accident that went in and destroyed the front end of the restaurant but they are open now as of December 1st and we had some food from there and it's the same people same owners everything's the same…

So we decided to give them a try. WORST. CHINESE FOOD. EVER!!! There are cheap Chinese fast food takeout that are way more delicious than they are. Their food is about as below average as those cheap bad Chinese fast food takeout. The noodles and steamed rice smelled like old burlap sack! The food we ordered either had no taste, not tasty at all, or it smelled. My mom and I swore we'd never go back. A couple of weeks ago, I was craving fried noodles. I don't know why I decided to give them a try again. What a waste of money!!! One thing improved, I guess... At least the noodles didn't smell like old burlap sack. As for taste... zero, nothing, bland AF and to top it all off, the noodles were over cooked so it's mushy!!! Seriously a Chinese restaurant who can't cook noodles??? WTH??? Anyway... It was disgusting! I ate a few bites, threw away the rest. What a waste of money!!! I don't know who keeps giving them praises for their food. May be those people just don't know any better and they've never had any good Chinese food. Golden City is definitely a "HELL NO! Never again!!!" for me. Perhaps it's because I'm Chinese that I hold a higher standard, but seriously... this place was disgustingly inedible!

It started off with the fact that they have a big parking lot with a ton of free parking. Once we stepped inside it was really cute. We loved the booth seating, and the variety of options. We did go an hour before their closing time, which is why it was probably quite empty, but it was nice not being in crowded place for dinner. We ordered a couple of things to share. We got the pork wontons in chili oil, the shrimp and chives boiled dumplings, the beef fried noodles, and the sweet and sour pork ribs. The food arrived pretty quickly. Great family style portion sizes, and very flavorful! The prices were also reasonable, which was a plus! Also, loved their house made chili oil. It was the perfect level of spice for me, and delicious. I poured that oil over all the food, which made the food taste even better! Once our food started coming out, it was brought out one dish at a time with long gaps in between, so some of us were eating while others were still waiting. We had to ask for ginger a couple of times, and by the time we received it, our food was already getting cold. Our rice and green beans never came out at all, and when we finally asked about them, we were told the ticket had gotten lost. I do want to give our waiter credit because he seemed to be trying, but overall the service was very disorganized. The food itself was just okay, and my soup was lukewarm. We chose Northern Cafe for a birthday dinner, so it was disappointing to spend so much of the evening waiting and trying to get missing items. Unfortunately, not a great birthday dinner experience for us.

Everything I had was laden with this heavy, greasy, fattening stuff. If you're a fan of cooking oil, this is your go-to spot for sure. I had the "gourmet" dinner. That means Mongolian beef, my usual in basic old-school Chinese places like this. I chose won ton soup over the seafood soup choice. The broth was fine, but the won tons were thick and doughy. Not great. The beef seemed of a decent quality, but was absolutely floating in oil. This made the green and white onions too soft and mushy and dripping with oil. Ditto the very messy foil wrapped chicken appetizer, but the egg roll was okay, if bland. There are plenty of excellent choices for all types of Chinese cuisine in the Valley. No need to come here. Again though, remember I only had one dish, but I have an idea it's indicative of the entire menu.
