I do not like giving bad reviews but I have to call this you your attention. Last evening, my friend and our 5 kids wanted take out Chinese to eat from our hotel on a brief staycation. She went wandering around me came across Peking House. We ordered standard fare but somehow the order of Bourbon Chicken got mistranslated to Kung Pao chicken. Not discovered until she got back to the hotel. We called and PH was kind enough to deliver a replacement. lo if that were the worst of it. The good was ok. Nothing to celebrate but good enough for us until about 930p when the first child threw up. Then every 20 - 30 minutes for next 6 hours one of the children was throwing up in the hotel room. We changed the bedsheets 3 times and used 20-plus towels to keep the place in a reasonable state. I suppose that there could be another explanation (stomach bug)....but it is just uncanny how everyone of them got so sick, so quickly and in the same way So our $23 takeout Chinese ended up costing one days use of our Science Center tickets, $50 tips for the maids, and about $25 in ginger ale from the hotel vending machines. The worst food ever . On top of that I ordered 17 egg rolls and expected them not to send a sufficient amount of duck sauce because they never do so I called back in order to ask for more and the owner yelled at me and was very rude and told me he will not service me ever again and cancel the order . I hung up the phone because I was at my place of work and waited on the driver her got here I checked the order and of course the duck sauce was short and I declined the order . The driver was rude also and told me thanks for waisting his time . I called back to be refunded and he informed me he would charge me 10% off of my refund for what reason idk . Food is fantastic. Best fried dumplings I've ever had. I live on the 9th floor of a secure building and they come right to my door. Ever time I order it never fails to amaze. I recommend them over and over and I will always order from Peking House. read more

Great place been going here for about a year now.. Real Asian people with fiery pans making tasty food.. This is not a place you go for decor or conversation it's mainly a carry out place but it has plenty of seating.. A real whole in the wall with good food.. I should start by saying that this should be a daytime trip for those uninitiated in urban life. I'll also add to no go into the bathrooms. Those caveats aside, this is some of the best chinese in the downtown area. I'm in town for classes for an extended period and am hitting this place at least twice a week. We encounter an awful delivery nut. He was cussing in our State Agencies, because he was unable to reach the person who ordered the food. I attempt to help him and I was ignored. He was saying the world FUCK loud in our State office while dialing the number. I was kind of scared that he was going to zap out. It's decent, inexpensive Chinese food. I've only done lunch there and generally the same two or three dishes. The steamed tofu with broccoli is pretty good and the portions are a reasonable size. They also deliver within a few blocks of their location, so on a rainy day, our office will sometimes do a large order. They've never gotten the order wrong. read more

I had the General Tso chicken and chicken noddle soup. I got very ill in a span of 5 hours. I only tried a couple bites of the soup bc it was awful -watery noodles with bad tasting chicken. Horrible customer service, mediocre food, unclean environment. I attempted to place an order via phone, and while I was going over possible menu options with the woman on the phone, she hung up on me, because I said give me a moment to think about a certain option. So impressed with the fast delivery- arrived 10 minutes earlier than expected! Tasty house lo mein with a good mix of chicken, shrimp, and pork. The sesame chicken combo was hot and seemed to be all white meat. The steamed pork dumplings were the only thing that was "just ok" and reminded me of kreplach (polish soup dumpling) more than Chinese dumplings. Will definitely order from here again! read more

Their food is cheap, tasty and addictive. Delivery is quick and easy. Whenever I am in the mood for fast food, I usually prefer this to the burger chains in the neighborhood. Extremely poor customer service. Phone order-taker was very rude and hung up on me immediately after taking my credit card number. Ordered tofu and was delivered chicken (not good for a vegan.) Called to ask for refund, was told (eventually) I'd have a refund and the correct dish delivered, but no such luck. Delivery man became belligerent when I asked about it, and proceeded to yell profanity in front of my house after I closed the door. Previous dealings with this establishment have been satisfactory. The only reason this place gets one star is because they were open on Christmas. I ordered the general tso's chicken platter with fried rice and a egg roll. The sauce was very soupy like. The fried rice had a minty evergreen taste to it. I couldn't critique the egg roll because they didn't send one. This will probably go down in my top 3 worst delivery joint experiences. This place does not honor their customers. I ordered chicken and broccoli and the chicken was full of gristle. I took the food back to this place and they refused to even look at the return or examine it . They were kept stating their their chicken is soft and refused to even address my issue or give me my money back. This place does not have good customer service and have horrible food. Good, solid carry-out Chinese food. No, the place isn't fancy nor is the interior particularly appealing. But the food was good and the $5 lunch specials make my wallet happy, especially given the expected large/multi-meal portions. I had the General Tso's Chicken - I figured, having never been there before, this was a safe bet. It was better than safe - the chicken was tender, the breading was crisp, and the sauce was sweet but spicy, as it should be. The texture of the fried rice was perfect - not hard and crunchy and not mushy, it was chewy and just right! Also had the hot & sour soup which was flavorful and spicy! This was my first visit for lunch, but they were busy for the lunch rush, so they obviously have a client base in the area. The fact that you can order online thru their website and schedule pick-up for a time in the future (i.e. order lunch @ 11am for pick-up @ 12:30, in the event you get to busy to order as lunch gets closer) is super convenient. Overall, I'll definitely go back and I would recommend it to anyone who has a hankering for some Chinese! read more
