Let me formally apologize as it appears I may have posted a review for Panda Express to this restaurant in error and gave them a 1-star review. I no longer see that review on my history so I am assuming that Yelp corrected that oversight as i referenced a drive thru that does not exist at this restaurant but does exist at Panda Express in Soledad. Having gotten that out of the way, now let me accurately review this location. Admittedly I have acquired take-out from this location on several occasions over the past 5 years. To be fair, the food was average and not really having anything so positive or so negative to say I never bothered to submit a review. But I will correct that now for better or worse. The location is in a shopping mall so parking options are generous. The restaurant itself is not opulent nor trashy but just simple and adequate. Seating options are okay though if they were more popular I think they would need to address a better layout for seating. Every interaction I have had with staff has always been pleasant. As I noted above the food is okay. And to be fare, if you check my Panda Express review I revised today to correct the mistake I made. They are heads and shoulders above Panda Express. Their Chow Mein tastes and looks like I would expect (unlike Panda). Their meatballs are okay and the other dishes average. I have tried most of what they offer and nothing was so off-putting that I need to provide details, while nothing so amazing that it warranted being called out. Simply stated, if you are not interested in cooking one night, they offer options that are decent; though if I were so inclined I feel I might cook those options better but they just save me the time. Not intended to sound or be critical. Just an honest opinion and hope it helps. Conveniently located in a busy shopping center. Prompt service. Paid $15 for a subpar house chow mein . A couple shrimp and very little meat almost no vegetables. The two star review is for the person in the kitchen hacking Phlem over and over while I was the only person in the restaurant and my food was being cooked. Will not return. Major gross out. This place is mediocre. The fried rice is not fried rice and was very disappointing. It's just rice tossed with soy sauce. The Lomein is dry and noodles are not cooked all the way. When you walk in there is food sitting on a steam table and sometimes it's fresh. You are better off ordering single items to guarantee it's made fresh to order. For me, the food is lacking that authentic Chinese food flavor. The service is good and you are greeted with a warm smile. The food used to be good when it first opened. I am not sure if they changed the cook or if restaurant changed owners. But I will not be going back. read more

Restaurant is comfortable when walking in. Server was nice and helpful as it was our first time in greenfield. Food was phenomenal and even took leftover back to motel for tmr. Will come back again soon after a trip to Sacramento. read more

STARS: 2.5 MENU AND FOOD: Peking express offers a selection of hot Chinese foods ready to eat at their counter. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service was a bit unfriendly as I had trouble hearing her while she quickly scooped my food into a container without looking at me. Due to pandemic precautions, they also have a giant shower-like, blurry curtain over their entire counter to shield the food, which looks a bit eerie. PARKING: Parking is not a problem as they are located in a large shopping plaza next to Rite Aid. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: I had their two item lunch box with teriyaki chicken, kung pao chicken and rice. I'm not sure if the menu posted on this page accurately reflects what is served. The set up when you walk in to order is all the food is already cooked and you pick and choose what you want. We both ordered the plate of food which we got 4 items to choose. I got the vegetable fried rice vegetable lo mein, orange chicken, broccoli beef spicy. My husband got the orange chicken, broccoli beef spicy, fried shrimp , teriyaki chicken. He also ordered the dumplings which he thought was the best on his order because they were made fresh. I loved my food and I think maybe for him he wasn't so impressed but perhaps the teriyaki chicken and the fried shrimp , he thought maybe it was left out for awhile because it tasted dry in some spots . Over all I loved my food and ate mostly everything , there was a tough part in my beef which was a tiny bit chewy but the rest of it tasted good and beef can be hit or miss quite honestly and so I just put it to the side and kept eating . The one thing I love is seeing how much food they pack into the box. We sat there and ate our food and we thought the staff were nice, plus the setting of the restaurant. Greasy Chinese food but taste is on point. Food is pre-cooked and on tray. Their fried noodles is surprisingly tasty. First time I had lunch combo we ordered teriyaki chicken with beef & broccoli. The beef & broccoli was tasty but had too much sauce that made big mess, and there was only 3 strips of steak and the rest was veggies. The teriyaki is very sweet but children liked it and we ordered again. The second time we ordered with fried shrimp which was excellent. The food is always delicious when I come every time! My usual is the 3 item combo! I definitely recommend the black pepper chicken, teriyaki chicken and the spring rolls! Absolutely delicious. It might be a bit pricy to people but I feel like it makes sense since it's a small business and with everything else getting expensive it makes sense that their prices also go up as well but it's worth it. This place has chinese food ready like Panda Express and you can just pick which items you want. However, I like to order from the menu. Their prices are fair and the food is great! I have been to the Chinese restaurant in Soledad as well as the one in Gonzales. The food at the soledad chinese restaurant was so bad two years ago that we just stopped going there and would drive all the way to Gonzales. I ordered Wonton Soup with a large order, didn't double check before I left the restaurant and once I got home realized there was no wonton soup. Gross! I was passing through town and I had to stop at Rite Aid and we were getting a little hungry. The place was dingy but u decided to give it a try and take some food to go. The options did not look appetizing, but I didn't want to have to somewhere else. The only had two combos from what I could yell. A lunch combo and a dinner combo. I chose chicken meatballs, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. The women obviously didn't have customer service skills and it seemed like everything bothered them. I had to ask for the sweet and sour sauce which I assumed would come with the sweet and sour chicken. The dinner combo was supposed to be $7.35 so tell me why I was charged $8.24. Almost a whole dollar in tax? I wonder if they are charging every customer extra tax. And they didn't give a receipt. I checked the city tax and it is 8.625%. I feel ripped off! Worst of all, the food was disgusting. The quality of the food was poor. I couldn't even finish it, and I love food! I would never go to this place again. I hope I don't see it open if I ever stop by that shopping center again! Save your money and appetite and go anywhere else but here! read more
