Food was pretty good, chicken was very flavorful, the food there was good the flavor was good. I wouldn't recommend the onions rings. Service was decent she was kind maybe better timing on refills but I did like that she wasn't consistently asking unlike other places even when you're still doing good on your drink that can get kind annoying. An absolutely horrible restaurant experience. Probably the worst in years. We sat down to order from the menus handed to us by our waitress. She brought us water promptly. She spoke barely any English, so we pointed out the items we wanted from the paper menu. It took several repetitions of us showing her our selections on the menu. She grew frustrated, so called over her dad and manager, who does most of the cooking. I pointed out selection C1 Chicken Chow Mein. He immediately started yelling at me, "If you choose this, no return to kitchen. No bring back." I asked him to stop shouting at me. He said everybody who orders that wants to return it to the kitchen. He did not lower his voice. I told him I promised not to return it to the kitchen, even it is not good. He finally accepted my order. I have NEVER been yelled at by a restaurant employee for anything. It appears that his frustration with speaking or understanding English expresses itself in anger and shouting. This is no way to run a restaurant. We finally got our dishes, and they were delicious and very generous portions. We were very hungry from our long drive, and we devoured it. When we went up to pay, the check showed higher prices for all 3 items we had ordered. I asked why. He said the prices went up July 1 (29 days earlier), but the new menus had not yet arrived. So, I asked, why not tell us about the higher prices before we ordered? He shouted at me again, this time totally unintelligibly. But he did agree to the prices on the menu. We also did not leave a tip. Food was terrific, but the Worst experience I have ever had. Don't go without a Mandarin-fluent friend. Never going near the place again. read more

If you take it for what it is (cheap all you can eat buffet in rural Wisconsin), then you may just be pleasantly surprised. I brought a coworker on a long lunch break. I tried a little bit of everything, and liked the lo mein, honey chicken, black pepper chicken, crab rangoon, fried dumplings, and general Tso's chicken. I would hesitate to call anything on the buffet "fresh" but at the same think there wasn't anything to gross me out or to raise concerns about food safety. The food quality is pretty much on par with a Panda Express. At about $12 for all you can eat, not an awful option. I didn't feel completely stellar after my meal but I could say the same for Panda; it just comes with the territory. Again, if your expectations are managed and you take it for what it is, you could do worse for lunch. read more

I'm gluten free and was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I could eat. Um, it was mediocre at best. Not the best buffet, not the worst. They had pots of rice; regular white rice and then fried rice, but the fried rice did not have much flavor to it and could have used more veggies. The ice cream was absolutely delicious though. More and more, I tend to avoid buffets. That being said; if you're looking for hot fresh food, food choices, a very clean place to eat, and friendly staff, then this buffet is for you. They have many options to choose from. They have (2) buffet food tables and (1) large salad/ dessert area. (Perfect size! Not too many and not too little.) They have your standard hot/sour soup or egg drop soup to choose from. (I have only tried the hot/sour soup, which I like so much that I will stop in and order this alone!) They have fried dumplings (okay), Crab Rangoon (Love it! They are wrapped a little different than usual, but I actually prefer it the way they do it.) I'm not going to go into all the dishes, but I will say that I always enjoy the beef Mongolian dish (it comes with mushrooms, but is missing the standard green onions.) Some things that could use improvement: The honey chicken, General Tso, and Sesame chicken (I think it depends on the cook) sometimes they get it right- other days they all taste the same. maybe too much sugar? I am a regular because the sesame chicken here is delicious and I've been to many Chinese restaurants around the US. Hong is kind and staff there work hard! I have never seen it dirty. The other posts just blow me away. It's clean, has a nice atmosphere and a relaxing place to eat with family (pre COVID) days. Curbside pickup is available for these COVID times. I'm grateful I can pull up to get delicious food with my two little kids. Delivery is available as well! read more

One of the employees started to mop the floor right next to our table 10 min to close with bleach water that smelled awful all over the restaurant , so I asked the owner to have a small box to take our leftovers with us, because we couldn't take the bleach smell, he said "no" and advised me and family to move to other side of the restaurant to finish our food, as soon as we switched tables same guy that was moping came to mop right next to us with that stinky bleach water, I couldn't believe it!!!! It can be a little hit and miss but overall the best Chinese in Baraboo. If you go during a slow time it seems they don't refresh the food often so it can be a little empty.
