I don't know why the rating is so low for Pizza Ranch. When I first entered, it was a bit chaotic being a first timer. You pay first at the cash register and then you find your own seating. It was quite packed since it was July 4th weekend. We managed to find a table for two, but getting in and out of our seats was a bit of a struggle since all the chairs/tables were so close together. The restaurant is an all you can eat buffet with a pizza station, salad bar, hot foods station, dessert station, and a drink station. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy! The mashed potatoes and gravy were good and the potato wedges were huge and crispy. The stuffing tasted like instant stuffing and quite salty, so I don't recommend. Next are the pizza. The taco pizza was my favorite and then the pepperoni pizza. I took a bite out of the mac and cheese pizza, which wasn't too bad either. They also had breadsticks with marinara sauce. The salad bar looked fresh, and the dessert pizza looked amazing. They even let you order any kind of pizza for free, and they can bring you the entire pizza or just a set number of slices. How nice is that!! The service here is actually a lot better than I could imagine!! They constantly have someone wiping off the drippings and food from each station. They have someone sweeping the floor, wiping down tables, and removing dirty plates. They also have someone constantly refilling all the food. Most buffet places just ignore this stuff, but Pizza Ranch really does do a good job keeping the place as clean as they possibly can with kids everywhere. This place is ultimately a buffet, so I think expectations shouldn't be overly high, but overall, I would come back again. There was enough variation to make anyone happy. read more

My family and I always enjoy going to Pizza Ranch when we visit the Dells. For affordable buffets this is the spot to go to! I think your experience can be really hit or miss based on what time you go. During peak lunch and dinner hours food is always coming out fast and fresh! I love their variety and also their Broast chicken is amazing! For all you can eat prices range from 12-14 per person which is a steal for an area like Wisconsin Dells. Majority of restaurants in this area will most likely run a family of 4 around 60-80 while pizza ranch tends to be around 50-60 for us and we are stuffed for the rest of the day. The service is great! They allow you to order pizzas that are not out on the tables. The ambiance is pretty solid like any other American buffets but much cleaner in my opinion. read more

First time in been to a buffet in years. There was a wide variety of pizza in the pizza bar including chocolate chip cookie pizza and apple pie pizza. Salad bar was good. I got some pizza, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pasta, ice cream and soda. Food was very tasty, people came several times around to pick up plates, workers were quite friendly. I grew up going to my local pizza ranch in MN but it has since been closed. When I saw this in the dells I immediately told my husband we have to go. So... a buffet, so take this as it is. We came in for an indulgent (quantity) meal, and were welcomed with a friendly greeting and helpful check-in. We had a couple coupons, and were helped to get the best deal. If you don't have a coupon, it's still only 10.95 (?) for an all you can eat buffet. A great deal if you want a lot of food. The food was surprisingly good. Pizza was decent, with a very bready dough, though nothing special. Definitely buffet pizza. Salad bar was great! Fresh salad and all ingredients. For those of us who like salads, this was a fantastic bonus! Dessert bar was good, with standard pies and a killer chocolate chip cookie! It seems they are known for their fried chicken, which did not disappoint. A little crisper would fit my tastes, but it's coming out of a buffet bin! Very well done! Sides of chips, waffle fries, and mashed potatoes (in rotation) were fair. Overall a great value to feed people with big appetites. We love Pizza Ranch. Our last visit was in early June 2020 (pandemic) and while we knew Wisconsin had different guidelines for indoor dining - there was literally zero social distancing going on and it was pretty busy. We struggled to find a table that looked remotely clean - and had to break our party up because we couldn't find 2 tables near each other. They also seemed pretty confused when they brought out our pizza request that we made at the register when we paid - I guess they weren't expecting us to want the entire thing (we had 10 people in our party). These things made our experience less pleasing than normal. Thankfully all turned out - and we are well past the potential "incubation" of any Rona - and all 10 of us remained healthy after our visit. read more

Who doesn't love pizza? Pizza Ranch offers unlimited buffet style pizza, fried chicken, salad, and desserts pizza/ice cream. They even take customer requests for pizzas which was great to see that you can ask for whatever you'd like on your pie. Awesome place to eat at with the family. The pizza in particular was great, fresh, and delicious. I loved the simple veggie pizza. The friend chicken was good too. The salad bar was decent, I wish it was consistently being touched up like the pizza station was, because the lettuce was low and some greens were wilted and dressings were out. I had just spent 6+ hours in my car driving to the sella and had to deal with Chicago traffic first so you can bet I was hungry. I saw the pizza ranch as I was turning to check into my hotel. I had no idea what a pizza ranch was but looked it up and found that it was a pizza buffet. So a quick drive back and no wait to get in and even better no wait for food. I can't stress how convenient it was just to get in and get our food quickly. They had a wide array of pizza all hand tossed no deep dish. There was cheese, pepperoni, BBQ chicken and several others. All we're about what you would expect at a pizza buffet. The BBQ chicken was exceptionally good. I also had a lot of pepperoni as it had just been brought out. They also had a unique additional offering of fried chicken. I found that the fried chicken was great even better than the pizza. Unfortunately after eating many slices of pizza and a salad from the decent salad bar I only had room for the leg and wing. They do have hot sauce packets. The soda machine also worked well and the drinks tasted pretty good. They did have excellent service for a buffet. They cleaned of all plates rapidly after you finished. Also they serviced the items and kept up with the rapid pace of the guests eating them all. They also had many dessert pizzas and ice cream. Unfortunately after all the pizza, salad, bread sticks, and chicken I could only eat a small bowl of the excellent soft serve ice cream. Note at first I thought the place was kind of expensive I think it is $14 or so per person, but I hadn't been to any other Dells places and I can now say it is very reasonable and most likely the fastest food you can find. read more

We'd been playing hard at Ho-Chunk and didn't want to pay the $20 prive tag for their buffet, so we headed to Pizza Ranch for a quick bite. We arrived at 9:15 PM, and they close at 10:00 PM, so I was a bit concerned that the food wouldn't be fresh. My worries were for naught, however, as the buffet was fully stocked with fresh options. Even though Pizza Ranch specializes in pizza, there are many other options available on the buffet. The fried chicken is delicious and they have fresh-made kettle chips that my husband loves. I enjoy the biscuits and gravy and mashed potatoes. There's also a salad bar, soups, dessert pizza, and soft-serve. Customers can request any type of pizza and it will be delivered to your table before it is placed on the buffet. The service was prompt and friendly. Dirty dishes were quickly removed from our table. The only complaint we had this evening is that the floor was pretty dirty with crumbs and food scraps, and the buffet area was sticky from soda spills. I understand that it was the end of the night, but a quick sweep goes a long way. Overall, I highly recommend a stop at Pizza Ranch when you are in the dells. There breadsticks and chocolate chip pie was burnt.But the one thing that made me give this place 2 stars was the fact my 13 year old daughter wasn't able to serve her self. I actually really liked it. I was thinking it was going to be Pizza Hut or CiCi's pizza quality but it's much much better. Don't get me wrong, it's not "THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD". Great location of your staying at the Kalahari. The service is quick and they have a smaller buffet in addition to the pizza that included chicken, mashed potatoes and some veggies. The cool thing about here is you can order a pizza anyway you like it and they bring it to your table to grab as many pieces as you like before moving it to the buffet. Pizza ranch is one of my favorite restaurants. Since my family and I travel avidly around wisconsin we have visited over 12 different pizza ranches. By far, this is the best pizza ranch in the state. They have had the best productivity i've seen and always had 5 full pizzas ready at all times as well as 1-2 pans of cheesy ranch sticks. Not to mention the salad bar was extremely well stocked. As well as the fried chicken/mashed potato station. The personal pizzas came out in 7-10 minutes which was the fastest i've ever seen. The pizza was to their normal quality as well. My only downfall to this location is all employees or foreign so their accents are sometimes tough to understand. However, since only 2,000 people live in this town, I cannot blame pizza ranch for this yet it made my experience lessend read more

To me this place is just a a different version of CiCi's pizza buffett. The pizzas weren't bad for the price and on top of that they had other things as well like fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and various other things. I had someone recommend me this place coming back from the Dells and to be honest I think I would rather go to a McDonald's just because of the cleanliness. I had a big group with me after coming back from the Dells and this place was packed with people. We got seated reasonably fast for the amount of people we had but man I don't know if I've seen a restaurant as messy as this. Food was everywhere on the ground and it honestly looks like they clean the tables and thats it. To get soda it is an extra fee as well but man I saw so many people using water cups to get soda and they seem to really not care. If you don't care about food on the floor of where you're sitting feel free to try this place out. If they don't have a specific pizza you like out at the buffet you can request one and they'll bring it out to you at no extra charge. I've heard mixed reviews about Pizza Ranch, but I've been to 3 locations in Wisconsin, and they have been great each time. This time they fell a little behind on keeping the food out there, but it was really busy, and I ate like a pig, so I can't fault them for that. For the price, you really can't beat it. Took my fiancée here for dinner, yes it's the Dells during summer huge mistake to begin with but it gets worse. I went up to grab some dessert for me and my fiancée and because he is disabled I was getting his portion. I asked the 2 kids behind me if they wanted any of the cookie and they both said no so there were 2 slices for me and 2 for him, so I slid the carboard onto my plate. I was personally attacked by the pink shoe wearing unprofessional "supervisor" saying I had to put it back on the buffett or pay for it. Said this right in front of everyone to hear and witness as I slid it back onto the buffett. Now mind you I did explain to him that I was helping my disabled fiancée and he still insist I could not take what I came to this restraunt and paid for already in the buffett price. This is both disrespectful and discrimination at it's finest. I went back to my seat and nearly cried. We will not be back to this location for it was way below satisfactory in sanitation due to the fact he had me put back the food that had already left the buffett to the non wearing of shoes from other customers to the filthy bathrooms.
