I mean, average at best. Service was super friendly and the iced tea was delicious. I came here on a whim to eat with my best friend and our first choice wasn't open, so I settled on this. Eating Chinese can be tricky when you're gluten-free. Luckily for me soy sauce doesn't bring me pain like consuming other gluten does. The combination fried rice was ok. It wasn't anything special. They gave me just a few shrimps and as per usual they're always over cooked and tough. I ate it. It wasn't the worse, wasn't the best. My only other qualm is that they wouldn't let me order boneless spare ribs, even though they offered it with the poo poo platter. I was annoyed because this is my favorite Chinese food. So that was a disappointment. My friend enjoyed her food though. I doubt I'll be back as I'm not in the area often. read more

Baraboo isn't a hot spot for Chinese food and there are limited options, however we order from Wok King all of the time! The prices are reasonable, food is always great and hot, plus ready extremely fast! The servers are usually friendly and accommodating. It's not a really classy place inside but it seems like the majority of business is take out - we always do. The cons? You won't be put on hold if someone else is already calling to make an order, you get the busy signal and have to hang up and call back. We'd probably order even more frequently if there was delivery, such a bummer! All in all, affordable, large and delicious servings in a very timely manner! Definitely recommend. read more

4/5/19. My wife ordered chicken egg foo young. I ordered shrimp egg foo young fried " well done" I was told that there would be a 20 min wait and I said no problem, I didn't want to rush the cook. We were dinning with another person but I have been told by yelp that I can't comment on something someone else had. Even if what they ordered was good. My wife was satisfied with her order but mine was a disaster. First off I ordered it will done. When I cut it in half raw scrambled egg ran out of my shrimp egg foo young. I asked the waitress to have the cook fry it more. She said that she could not put it back into the deep fryer because the gravy would mess up the fryer. I mentioned frying it in a pan and she corrected me and said it's cooked in the deep fryer. She said she would microwave it some more. For the record I've had Chinese food from half the Chinese restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown and all the way to Rockford Illinois and never herd of them dropping egg foo young mix into a deep fryer. A couple minutes later I got it back. I tried eating half of 1 of the patties and decided to get a box and take it home. We ended up taking 1 and 1/2 of the 2 patties of the wife's chicken egg foo young home as well. Again I'm going to say if you serve me crap I won't cause a scene or argue I just won't ever come back. I paid $28 on a crap dinner and left. When I got home I though I could possibly save this dish by pan frying it or adding something to it. That's when I noticed it all fell apart. There was plenty of shrimp in it but it only had one vegetable in it " bamboo shoots " no other vegetables were in it same with the wife's chicken egg foo young. They were like 2 1/2 " tall and 4" across. This is because the were made like doughnuts in a deep fryer at dunkin doughnuts. I kept frying it and squeezing it and oil kept running out. I actually got about a half cup of oil from one patty. I picked the shrimping and ate them and fed everything else into the sinkorator " disposal" Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Love Wok King! We order about once every three weeks and it's always delicious. The owner and her daughter deliver fantastic customer service and we always walk away satisfied. Ordered three entrees and three orders of crab ragoons to pay $70. The WORST MEAL EVER. One entrée had hair in it, all of the fried rice was burnt to wear it was crunchy, and the crab ragoons had less than a teaspoon of filling and were also burnt. We tried calling to see if we could get a portion of the money refunded and the lady argued saying nothing was burnt and it wasn't possible to have hair in it because they haven't changed how the cook the food and the cooks haven't changed. 10/10 would NOT recommend. If you're wanting Chinese, make it at home or drive to Sauk or Mauston. The lack of customer service is just pathetic and poor for business. They can say adios for a 20+ year customer. read more

This place is always amazing. Service is always great, I've never had an issue ever here, and I've been coming here for years. Prices are very good. And the food is the best and you get good portions. I always leave very full here. I highly recommend this place. It's not a buffet, it's table service and that's what I like. The hot and spicy soup was okay but lacked a little flavor - the main dishes (we had hunan shrimp, teriyaki chicken and another chicken entree) was very good. The prices were wonderful, especially considering the food quality, which was delicious. I used to eat here weekly years ago. Having lived for years near China Town in NY I loved this place but it has fallen apart. I was sick and sent a friend to get an order for me. The two meals (moo shu pork and orange chicken), rice and rolls were all thrown into a flimsy bag without any structural support (most Chinese food is layered in paperbags with cardboard layers or in boxes). By the time my friend got to me the entire bag was all over her car floor. The taste, well, let's say they have lost their place in the food chain; the Moo Shu was boring and hopeless and the orange chicken a sickening sticky mess, the rolls...dear heavens Kwik Trip does better. Have eaten here a few times in the past. The atmosphere has gotten worse through the years. The food is inexpensive and usually pretty bland. The place could use a bit of sprucing up as it seems dirty and old. Last time there, we saw a couple pull into the parking lot with a car and a trailer. They got out and noticed the Pizza Hut across the street and seemed to change their minds where they were going to eat. A man we assume is the owner or manager, practically followed them across the road to the Pizza Hut. He must have confronted them about parking in the lot and not eating there, because it wasn't long and the man came back over and moved the car. We were still there when the couple came out of Pizza Hut and left. In that time, there was plenty of parking in the WokKing lot and no one parked where the couple had parked originally. Seems rather rude to chase down potential customer and insist they move their car. There was nothing posted in the lot stating it was for WokKing customers only, so the couple could have stayed there and not had to worry about getting ticketed. That will be the last time we eat there. We won't go where the place just seems dirty and the owner or manager is a rude, arrogant person. read more
