The loft space is too cool for me. I've ventured up there a few times but typically take my coffee "to go." Sometimes, I'll glance up there when I come in and think to myself, "I'm not worthy!" The coffee is solid and during the summer months, I'm definitely a fan of their iced drinks. Over the years, the little things have really made my day. What things you ask? We can start with pastry in the morning from Mon Amie Bakery in Mill Creek. I'm a huge fan of them and each morning, I can walk in and grab myself a gorgeous piece of flaky goodness. If you see the large one with the strawberries, prepare to fight me for it! Another great thing about this location is that they receive food delivery from Peach. For those of us who can't convince co-workers to sign up for Peach, having a place nearby to grab a bite to eat is a really nice perk. Finally, they write really cute things on their signs outside. I miss my green-clad corporate coffee-slinging overlords, but this is a nice shop. It's filled with a totally different crowd than the Starbucks crowds. The girls behind the counter were not exactly friendly, but not rude either. I've had better treatment at Dilettante mocha bars. They get an extra star for the hipness of the environment. Whenever I try some place new I always get an americano so I can taste the coffee, not the milk. It's OK here. A bit acidic, but not to the level of a Kenyan coffee. It lacks overall body and richness of other local blends. Also, I don't like the no credit card policy unless you spend more than $3. Yes... it speeds the line along and increases your profits, but I don't care about your profits and who wants to hurry when they are getting coffee? The whole point is to stand in line, chat, and enjoy the scene. read more

Oh how I love Seattle's oldest coffee bar! The lovely ladies here offer me quick and tasty libations without me even having to order. Blessed be the regulars! It's a small shop, perfect for the in and out while you wait for the bus or head off to work. The ladies that work the mornings are incredible. Fast, friendly and hard working. I have never been disappointed. They recently started making their own bakery items which I should resist due to my gluten issues but goodness they are beautiful. And to sweeten the deal they have discounted happy hour drink prices in the afternoons and free flavor Fridays. read more

The loft is a great place to relax or get some work down since its away from the main lobby where all the foot traffic is. The Barista's are respectful and know what they're doing and I haven't had any issues since I started coming here. They also have delicious pastries and health conscious alternatives. O my god I hate being a female customer here. About 1/2 the female baristas will talk up the guys forever while ignoring my existence even as I'm standing in front of them non-verbally asking, 'Can I just order and then you can go back to your convo?' They have the attitude that they're the barista and can make you wait forever if they want. The drinks are also inconsistent as others have noted. The worst coffee I have had came from this location. Really burnt coffee beans have made more than one drink a sorry purchase. read more

The coffee isn't particularly good by Seattle standards, and the baked goods are pre-packaged, but if you are across the street and looking for a cuppa in the morning, this may be your huckleberry. They say that "wifi is available, but not provided by us." Whoever is in signal range figured this out and has disabled interlopers. Really the staff here would be unwise to recommend using networks which which they have no relationship. There is a pretty chill area upstairs where you can hang out for a while and work on things without much distraction. read more

I come here before I go to work. They have cheap lattes, are located conveniently, and have a bring-your-own mug discount. I always get a Chai latte and honestly can't find much at fault with it- I mean, it's just a chai, so it's really good, but you can't really mess it up. Baristas are nice too- within 2 weeks of me starting to go here, they already know my regular. This is the Cheers of coffee shops! The coffee and tea at Pegasus are great, but the baristas make the whole experience. I love these girls! They know their regulars, have their drinks ready before they get to the front of the line, and are always so sweet to everyone. As for the prior reviews, I've been going to Pegasus for four years and have never seen them be rude to anyone. As with any service industry, tipping subsidizes their less than ideal hourly wage. First off, I gotta say that the soy drinks are garbage. I'm not sure what it is, but I get the feeling that some coffee shops don't taste their soy drinks before serving them. They use Kirkland brand soy milk, which is good on it's own, but when heated and/or mixed with coffee it tastes like cardboard. PLEASE taste your soy drinks before serving them!!! So far this place has made me the best mocha I've yet to taste. It was just simply awesome. I've had mixed experiences in the past, most notably grinds in my iced espresso shots. As coffee houses go, this is a classy joint. You can settle into big leather chairs, or sit at attention at tiny tables downstairs or upstairs. The baristas are a little more risque in their dress here than at the usual coffee house - is this intentional marketing or attractive women dressed for a warm day? It's not the Starbuck's uniform, that's for sure. I don't typically go for the multi-ingredient coffee drinks: just give it to me black. The coffee's fine. The wireless is rocking. Pegasus is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Seattle. I used to work in the same building and now that I am at a new job, I still make sure to go out of my way to go to Pegasus for my coffee. The baristas are wonderful, know their customers and their orders. The coffee there is amazing as well and are very efficient with the work they do. Everything from their book exchange to the questions they have for customers to answer when tipping make for a fun, inviting and warm coffee shop. Go there enough and you will start to know your baristas by name as well! I recommend Pegasus to any of my friends that visit Seattle from out of town. read more

This place wins my heart for the best latte ever. It just tastes perfect, not too strong, not too creamy, not too crazy. There are approximately 9327492734 coffee shops in the area and I tried them allllll in the last 5 years i worked in downtown. I am really not that hard to impress when it comes to coffee/latte. I like it SIMPLE, not sweet, not bold, not too watery.... but coffee these days make everything just... too much and makes my heart explode with pumps of syrup, flavorings and colors and ugh. why don't we just throw in some cake too and drink it. Anyway, what I was trying to say, is that based on what I've tried so far and the simple perfection I look for in my morning liquid stimulant, the moment I discovered Pegasus' latte, I knew it was pure Gold. I was a long standing regular customer at Pegasus, once or twice a day for the last few years. Until last week, when the new barista Danielle decided to insist I was being too picky, when i mentioned that her latte's are consistently burnt. Her exact words to me were 'It's always something with you". I mentioned to her that unless she can make a latte like everyone else in this city, i'd not be back to their establishment and that I'd be speaking to the manager. She, in true condescending form said "please do". I emailed Pegasus about my experience and have stopped by on numerous occasions to let them know what had happened. Yummy coffee! They always make my drink fast enough for me to stop by right before work. The employees are always very friendly and still genuine. All americanos are 3$, whatever the size! So that's what I always get. They also have soy and almond milk, which I appreciate. If you go often, get a punch card! I like how this store clearly has a good sense of humor - the tip jar is always a quirky question and there are daily comic calendars next to where you get your drink. There isn't a lot of seating in the store, but if you go upstairs there are a few more tables. Another downside is that there isn't a bathroom - but I can deal with both of these things since I'm usually just here to get coffee right before work or on my break. read more

There is a depressing lack of good espresso downtown. Although I have probably been spoiled for life by Greenwood's amazing Neptune Coffee, I thought I'd give Pegasus a try for my pre-work Americano. It's right at my bus stop, and it apparently touts the title of Seattle's Oldest Coffee Bar (or so their cups say, anyway), so the convenience drew me in. The coffee, unfortunately, leaves a lot to be desired. While it's not terrible, it's not much better than the drip in my office, and considering the price difference ($2+ vs. free), I'll probably take the drip. That said, I think there are some redeeming qualities to this place. The baristas are pretty friendly and quick. I haven't tried any other espresso drinks, but maybe if you mix in enough steamed milk and other goodies, the mediocre coffee will taste better? And if you don't feel like coffee, they do have an impressive wall of teas by Republic of Tea -- which, I can tell you, is good. All in all, next time I don't feel like an Americano, I'll probably be back. read more

So the service here is nice and the space is okay and the coffee is fine, but... I only went because Cherry Street wasn't open yet. And I told the barista, who said "Cherry Street sucks". Which I thought was funny. I mean, I like smack talk. But if you're going to throw it down like that you are raising the bar for yourself. The only nasty taste that was left in my mouth is caused by the baristas and their bad attitudes. There has maybe been one genuinely nice barista. Today I go in and am accused of lying because the barista "swore" I got my change. I showed her the cash that was in my wallet and nope, $6 was not in there. She was in a hurry for some reason, granted I was the only customer in there. As I added some fixings to my coffee, I hear her clipping her nails behind the counter. Sick!!! I like their coffee, but after today, I'll just head over to cherry st. Coffee.
