This spot is very cool. Located near Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle Center, Cafe Vita at KEXP is a huge cafe with hipster vibes and great music. The menu here is great. Lots of interesting choices. The merch selection is also killer. We stuck with a basic matcha and iced americano. The staff was efficient, pumping out drinks like no one's business. Both drinks were great; however, the matcha comes unsweetened, so adding some free simple syrup from the bar was needed. The americano was well-balanced. Pricing here was very reasonable. The best part of this place is the space. Shared with a radio station, it's a large space with plenty of seating. The music is bumping, and there is even a record shop right in the middle of the room. Very cool. This was a great and unique stop during our Seattle trip. We visited Caffe Vita as part of the first Friday of the month free cupping experience, which they hold monthly for I believe 25 guests in total. The event is held on the tables right behind the cafe in the KEXP building. It's open to the seating area, so it's a bit loud especially with the music and conversation, not to mention all the chaotic energy with the employees trying to lead around a large group in a rather crammed area; it's not exactly the ideal environment for a tasting, but I can't complain given that it's free! At any rate, for this event, we got to try 7 different types of coffee. First, they ground up the beans and we single file went through each set of three cups, giving each a series of short sniffs before ambling over to the next one. There's not much time devoted to each coffee, maybe 5 or 10 seconds, so it's difficult to take notes or develop much of a thought consensus for each one. With that being said, my personal notes are as follows: Sweet Dreams (Light Roast Bolivian) - Sweet smell, not quite fruity Wild Heart (Light Roast Colombian) - Super fruity like red berries Norwester (Light Roast Blend) - Some lighter fruity notes compared to the Wild Heart Caffe Del Sol (Med Roast Blend) - Balanced roasty smell KEXP Blend - Very toasty and dark Passionfruit Coferment - smells like passionfruit, exactly as the name suggests Dragonfruit Coferment - smells like dragonfruit extract/powder, very concentrated smell, way more than the actual fruit itself. It smells natural though. They then brewed each cup for a couple of minutes, broke the crust, and got the top crust grounds out. Actually sampling the coffee took awhile given the amount of people. Apparently in the past, they would have participants dip spoons into each cup and directly sip from the spoon. Now that we're in the COVID era, they provide paper cups, so we spoon the coffee into the cup and then sip. (Note: I caught a cold two days afterwards. I can't definitively say it was from this coffee cupping, but I have a strong suspicion, especially since I saw other people store their spoons in their cups between sippings). Again, since there's a line of people, there's not much time to spend on each coffee. My notes: Sweet Dreams - Surprisingly fruity, like peach or other stone fruit, which I didn't get from the smell at all. Wild Heart - No fruitiness, instead is rather chocolatey, which again, doesn't match the smell of the grounds. Norwester - Not much here, tastes like a nice coffee blend. Caffe Del Sol - Roasty with some sour tang at the end. KEXP Blend - Tastes like dark roast, I couldn't get much out of this one with the time I had. Passionfruit - Actually really good, tastes like passionfruit green tea from a boba shop, but a bit more complex and less artificial. Dragonfruit - I loved this one the most. Strong dragonfruit essence. I actually asked if I could buy this, but they don't sell it. They told me the got it from Black & White Coffee Roasters in Raleigh. I'll definitely be looking them up. For snacks, they had some cut up pastries from Grateful Bread. Very nice gesture to end the cupping with! Overall, I found this cupping to be very chaotic without nearly enough time for me to develop strong opinions on each coffee. I think it was a certainly a good experience overall (especially with the fact that's it's free!) but it's not something I would do again. My boyfriend has been loving this place lately and wanted to come here for some coworking and it's literally the perfect place for getting work done. I love the energetic vibe and the open space. Having so many people around me working really helped me get in the zone. And to fuel all that work Caffe Vita has literally the yummiest mocha I've had in a while. I got a 12oz oat milk mudhoney mocha and it was so rich and sweet. I don't love my oat milk to be super foamy and I feel like they steamed it to the perfect texture so it was creamy and made my drink so cosy. For breakfast I ordered a plain bagel and got some cream cheese with it. My partner warned me tha the bagels were super soft and he was right, they were definitely very chewy and I prefer a little bit more of that pan-fried crunch. But it was a sufficient coffee shop breakfast. The music is definitely my favourite part of working here, I love getting to listen to the local station and discovering new artists!! Today they had a live in-studio band which was a super cool experience. I didn't know radio shows still did that. I love this cafe!! A fun location, spacious, and a very good use of the space including a cafe, stage (that you can also sit on when there's no performers), the recording studio, and the shop including their merch and CDs/vinyls. I was very impressed with their drinks. I got the black sesame latte, and tried the bananas foster and cardi rose lattes. All were so good and I would definitely have again. The fact that KEXP has a dope coffee shop on site is 5 stars alone. Then you bring in the expertise of Caffe Vita you're guaranteed a surefire experience from beginning to end. I recently discovered Caffe Vita at KEXP, a big coffee shop and live radio studio. I love that it is extremely spacious with chairs, tables and couches. It's a great spot if you want to hang out, read, or get some work done. I even saw a bunch of people doing crafts! It can get pretty loud (especially at peak hours on the weekend), but I found sitting at the corner spots to be more quiet. Even if it's super crowded, you'll likely be able to find a seat at their communal tables. Also a bonus that they're dog friendly. How I heard of this place: While spending the day at the Seattle, Center, we had a couple of hours to enjoy a treat before going to a show at the Seattle Children's Theater, and found ourselves most intrigued by Caffee Vita's online offerings. Ambiance: An extensive, airy, open space with plenty of "living room" options for seating gatherings of all sizes. Couches and coffee tables, dining tables and chairs, lounging seats on the stage and more welcome guests. The amber lighting offers a warm glow. It's so large, on this particular day, we saw one child riding a balance bike throughout the establishment, while others giggled and laughed as they ran around the "living room" where their adults were seated, chatting. The glorious sounds of people enjoying themselves over coffee and pastries is truly what makes the space feel most like your home away from home. What I ordered: We selected the Maple Bar Latte & Cheddar Lye Roll for me, and the Fruity Pebbles Donut Factory donut & vegan Jonboy caramel steamed milk for my little one. This is such a cute and cool space. It's spacious with plenty of seating yet still feels cozy thanks to the decor, record shop, and comfy leather chairs and sofas. There was a line to order, but it moved quickly, and the employee taking my order was friendly and helpful. I got the campfire latte and a plain croissant. The croissant is from Sea Wolf Bakery, and while the latte was good, I didn't really pick up the smokiness it's supposed to have. I've always been a big fan of KEXP so this was a must on my list of things to do in Seattle. The building itself is right next to the stadium for the WNBA Seattle Storm and there's a large, beautiful plaza area in between the two. The building is beautiful inside and out. The massive windows allow a lot of natural sunlight and there is a lot of space to sit inside and outside. The cafe itself is just on the right as you enter and they have a lot of drink and food options. Once you order, the staff (who were all very friendly and provided quick service) have you wait in a larger area at the end of the bar. We got our drinks and chose a spot over by the KEXP studio and watched and listened as the hosts did their work. I've also long been a fan of Sub Pop records, so it was a treat to look through the store they have next to the cafe and see all the clothes (one hat is pictured) and records they have for sale. If I lived locally this would definitely be a spot I'd come hang out at regularly. read more

Can't believe I've lived in the Seattle area this long and just came here for the first time! I'd say this is a must for locals and tourists. Definitely a true Seattle vibe. Love the high ceiling and thoughtful decor. I didn't get any food, but can confirm they had a nice, small selection of things and they all looked delicious. I was there for the coffee and it was definitely hard to decide as everything on the menu looked amazing. Super happy with what I got and the impeccable service from the expert baristas. Wish I could have stayed longer and not been stuck working on my laptop so I could have browsed the fancy espresso machine display and the little record shop. We came here after the Premier. It was a really nice hall and huge! Plenty of space for a party. It reminds me of the artistry in Kakaako. Except this place has glass windows to see in and out and it seems cleaner. The radio station who promoted the movie in Seattle was here too. So we got to have some regular jams and someone was able to play some local music from Hawaii too. We had a great time! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and for hosting us. Last time I was here, it was La Marzocco at KEXP Studios back in July 2016. Wow - six years ago! Time for an update with Caffe Vita onsite. The Homie and I just saw the last regular season Seattle Storm game vs Las Vegas Aces at Climate Pledge Arena on 8/7/22. We had no concessions during the game, so decided to grab some refreshments before heading back to the car. The Homie originally wanted an orange soda espresso drink, but the barista substituted strawberry instead. It was deemed tasty and packed a punch on his empty stomach! I had my usual iced mocha and yes, agreed that the barista did a great job. Nice balance of pulled shots with ice, milk, and chocolate. Long line, but moved swiftly because of their efficient system having a cashier and up to three baristas at the station. The immediate seating area of varying configurations was full of the usual sea of laptops, some Storm-Aces attendees, and others visiting Seattle Center. Nice to see its association with KEXP Studios and noticed an onsite vinyl shop too. Usually I visit Caffe Vita over in Capitol Hill at 10th and E Pike. Good to know that there's this site in Queen Anne/Seattle Center and another one in Fremont. Worthy indie stop at any of these sites! read more

10/10 always good vibes at KEXP! I love coming here early in the morning when it's quiet and you can really focus on the music. The combination of radio station and coffee shop is genius. I love cafe vitas lattes, chai, and bakery items. Everyone here is also lovely and kind. One gripe, I do wish there was more seating. Inconspicuous during the day is the disco ball above the middle of the floor. I picture a band playing on the stage and the floor cleared for dancing or mingling with cocktails on weekends. Check it out! Their plain croissants are buttery and satisfying, the medium roast drip coffee delicious, the chai tea latte subtle/frothy/not overly sweet. My go to for iced mochas and lattes! The inside of the cafe is joined together with a radio station so the ambiance is really cool and there's a small record shop inside! There's also lots of seating but only a few spots are near outlets and those are near the wall. They serve all the typical coffee shop items and have a small seasonal drink menu. They also sell food and pastries. I always get iced mochas and lattes and highly recommend them! The coffee is strong and the milk doesn't overpower the coffee flavor. read more

You could hear them recording the radio show, and the open layout had an indoor-outdoor vibe. People were studying, playing with their pets, mingling, all the good things a coffee shop can offer! The space was clean-looking but definitely cluttered like they had just had a rush. My drink was pretty bad, even for such a simple drink which i feel is hard to mess up. The espresso tasted burnt and watered down, and I ended up trashing about half of it, which stung because it was so expensive.
