There's something so special about the food here. The quality and consistency is incredible. Their brunch is a Bay Ridge staple. My favorites are the eggs Benedict with toasted crunchy, yet chewy, ciabatta bread and the juevos rancheros served on a crunchy tostada. Every single bite stays crunchy, I don't know how they do that. And the banana foster French toast has a slight crisp on the outside in EVERY BITE. Even with syrup soaking in! I truly love everything about this place, including the staff. And I always feel satisfied but never sluggish even if I order two dishes. I'm guessing that means they use ingredients that aren't crap. One thing to note is it is CASH only, but there is an ATM in the back :). read more

Came here with my dad one morning. I love a good diner! It had an old diner feel. My dad got the western omelette and I got the breakfast tacos that came with waffle fries. We enjoyed our meals, they were filling. I liked my creative breakfast taco dish! My breakfast tacos were $15. The menus on Yelp and Google don't seem to be updated from what I can see. The service was good, there weren't many people there so early in the morning. I recommend Pegasus for a nice diner breakfast! read more

Good brunch that everyone goes to. Long wait because it's a very popular place for brunch. Service was okay Cash only. No dairy-free options, which is upsetting because it's bay ridge and basically every place has dairy-free options. Omelettes were good and cooked well. They arrived to the table very fast. read more

Super cute small diner. Boyfriend and I got BEC (good) and fresh oj(great) for a quick breakfast. Had a cup of coffee while I waited and honestly for diner coffee it was a good cup of coffee, best I've ever had from a diner. Service was amazing everyone was nice and helpful. read more

Great diner on 3rd avenue in Bay Ridge. I usually get one of their omelettes when I go, which comes with a side of home fries and buttered toast- all very good. They used to have a long wait time on the weekends but since covid it's pretty easy to find a table. If you're in the area and are looking for a great place to eat while supporting a local business- look no further. Make sure you bring cash- cash only read more

So so good! We arrived on a Sunday morning around 10:30am. Waited maybe a half an hour. The hostess was super friendly and gave us a call when our table was ready. This was my first time here - the ambiance is super cozy and inviting. I started with an iced coffee and a freshlh squeezed orange juice. If there's anything I suggest it is the orange juice. To top it off the breakfast was such a delight. I had a breakfast burrito off their special menu that came with the most perfected well done crispy home fries I ever had. Pegasus is a hidden gem in Bayridge. Have been in business since last 30 years. Avo Pesto Smash is a MUST TRY!!! English muffins topped with basted eggs. Served with pesto sauce. One of the best pesto sauce I have ever tried. Extremely flavorful. I guess I should have asked for their secret ingredient. Great staff! Would definitely visit this place again. read more

One of the best breakfasts that you can find in the area. If you come during peak brunch time, there will likely be a wait since it's popular. There must be something about their grill, because their eggs are always cooked perfectly, the bacon perfectly crispy, and the home fries perfectly fried. Their home fries are actually seasoned well, also. The coffee does the job. But their fresh squeezed orange juice is soo delicious! The waitstaff is always friendly and quick to take your order. Old school dinner with a creative twist on classics in a well executed menu! Hidden gem! Happened to be in the neighborhood and dropped by. I'd consider going out of my way to return for the Avo pesto smash benedict with prosciutto, the hashbrowns and whole wheat blueberry pancakes. The benedict well composed; the layers of flavor just work! The hashbrowns, thin/crisp and extremely flavorful. The pancakes had a slight crisp but were airy, fluffy and still filling. My dining companion had the chicken quinoa wrap; it looked incredibly fresh and by all accounts tasted incredible. Our server and frankly all the staff sweet, attentive enough and cultivate the rare neighborhood vibe with their regulars. read more

Cute local diner with a little twist. When you walk in this diner is long and narrow. There are a few counter seats to the right and the rest of the diner is small booths (best for 4 people or less). The interior is warm and cozy with warm paint colors and exposed brick walls. Arrived with a friend for an early lunch at around 11am. We were able to get a table without a wait. When we left around 1pm the entire diner was full and people were waiting for a table. They have your standard diner menu/service here but they also had a nice brunch menu. I thought this was a nice little touch on the typical diner stuff. Great place for a bite if you're in the area. Just don't try and come with a large party. This place is cash only too. read more

Came in for brunch with my boyfriend which ends at 3pm on the weekends and it's $11.50 besides their angry crab cake benedict with it $2 more. I think their brunch menu is worth the money you're paying for. Love their angry crab cake benedict, but wasn't a big fan of their salad that came with it ( I didn't like the dressing that came with the salad ) the crab cake is meaty and love the fact that their hollandaise sauce has a little spicy kick to it. I don't eat spicy food at all so their was a little kick for me, but I think if you eat spicy food you won't taste the spiciness. I had to try their iced "hot" chocolate and I would get it again. I love chocolateeeee lol and on the rims it has dipped chocolate with peanuts. I finished the whole thing . My boyfriend had their chicken and waffle with fresh squeezed orange juice. I'm not really a big fan of chicken and waffle but I did try it and their sauce is good. My boyfriend enjoyed it he finished the whole thing. That I guess that says something. read more

Went on a Saturday afternoon, still very busy but we were served very quickly. I ordered the peaches and cream French toast and my husband got eggs Benedict. Both were super delicious especially the eggs Benedict. Different from a traditional one, it had layers of English muffin, thick slice of bacon, eggs, topped with cheese. This place is a classic Bayridge gem. We went for breakfast and overall the food was good. The only thing that was very disappointing was the avocado toast, which bread was not toasted and eggs were cold however they were nice to remove from the bill since we did not eat it. read more

I have been a patron of Pegasus for over 10 years and today I decided I will never return. The brunch special has increased $7 over the past 2 years... I understand a slight increase but I actually laughed hysterically when I saw the $19 avocado toast (my usual that is quite literally just avocado toast with an egg and some spring greens on the side.... That's it.) I used to always order it but it is NOT worth even $15. It costs them AT MOST $4-5 to make. Drinks are not even included. You can get a much higher quality brunch special at Skinflints for much cheaper WITH drinks included. I was informed that at Pegasus drinks are an additional $4 to the $19 for brunch.... So it would be $23. L M A O. At this rate you can order a fancy pasta dish at an Italian restaurant for dinner and pay less. Pegasus is just a diner at the end of the day and I think they need to remind themselves that. No one wants to pay 5 star quality prices for DINER FOOD. Every few months I come here and there's ALWAYS a price increase but it is insane how bad it got and it's at the point now where I will never return. The menu said $5 for a bacon and egg on a roll and my receipt said $8.25. So it was $3.25 cents extra for a slice of fucking cheese. Never in my life have I paid that much for a bacon egg and cheese. I spent over $20 for a bacon egg and cheese, fries and a Diet Coke. My friend who got chicken and waffles and a latte spend over $30 for BRUNCH.... Insanity. And the quality of the food is the fucking same. If you're going to charge me that much you better be improving. The flowers you added to the wall aren't much improvement if you ask me. Good riddance Pegasus I can't see you lasting much longer because I am not going to be your only regular customer who won't return after your ridiculous pricing. You will be nothing but another empty storefront to look at in Bay Ridge. read more

There is a reason that specials exist. Our waitress let me know about the peanut butter burger, which the last time I had one was in New Orleans. And I have dreamt about it ever since. This peanut butter burger had bacon jam, peanut butter, over easy egg and a side of home fries. I was hesitant getting it so early since I'm more of a breakfast for brunch girl, but it did not disappoint. The coffee was strong. This place is tiny but we got a seat without a rezzy in like 15 minutes. I will be back. read more

They need to start accepting credit cards. I do not carry large amount of cash especially if my partner and I meal is $50+ Even if they have to charge a percentage.. just start accepting credit cards or Debit cards ANYWAYS, I love this spot. I come here for breakfast and brunch. Their juices are freshly squeezed. Their coffee are also fresh and so caffeinated (MUST TRY) I have only tried their Omelettes and pancakes. They quick. The place is clean and waiters are so nice. They are on point. Would highly recommend. The only con about to place is that it's too tight but everything else about this place is so nice. read more

I love this place! I come here with my hubby & kids at least once a month. The place is usually full but the service is so quick the wait is usually not long at all. This time we got the banana foster French toast, we added Nutella to it. It's absolutely delicious and surprisingly lite considering the scoop of ice cream on top. Their eggs are cooked to perfection and the home fries are one of the best I've had , very light and crispy. The coffee is good but not that strong. The only con about this place is that they don't take card, only cash or venmo. read more

The food is affordable and instagrammable (no, I'm not part of that crowd). Decor is something to be desired, but I'm sure that's not the place that it's meant to be! Just a laid back chill diner for breakfast the locals. This is not a good place for groups larger than 4 at a time (6 if you want to squeeze in). I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. The burger was nothing special--likely wholesale patties defrosted and reheated. Service was outstanding and friendly. Don't forget your coffee refills. read more

5 stars for the staff and the terrific old NYC charm of this dinette . Would have 5 Stars if it was rated for those two important items . The food is so so at its very best . EXPENSIVE they only like cash . Do not accept credit cards businesses have to pay a slight percentage % fee in order to accept payment for credit cards . They can be crowed like I said nice staff and nice charm . Quality so so and EXPENSIVE brings down the star rating . read more

I am a bay ridge native and this is of my favorite brunch spots. I love the peaches & cream French toast when I'm looking for something sweet, and the Avo Pesto Smash when I want something more savory. That said, there is no wrong option on the menu. Staff is also nice. The place is small though, so it will be difficult to seat more than 4 people to a booth. Almost forgot to mention that the fresh squeezed orange juice is liquid gold! read more

Been here a couple times with my college buddies and it has yet to disappoint! I love sitting in the booths. Roomy for two, but perfect for up to four! Sometimes the food is a little heavy for brunch but the freshly squeezed orange juice really cuts through all of that heaviness! There's also unlimited refills on coffee and tea if you don't want to pay the price for the fresh juice, and that's pretty worth it in my opinion. I've tried the chicken and waffles, tex mex breakfast burrito, the kick a** benedict, huevos rancheros, and the peaches & cream french toast. The portions are pretty big for $14.95 and I have a pretty big stomach so that's saying something, lol! Any of the ones I have listed are really great and filling but my favorite is probably the tex mex breakfast burrito -- it's got sausages, eggs, avocado, and salsa (basically everything you'd want for a brunch) all wrapped in one. and served with homefries (you can swap them out for waffle fries, which I highly recommend). Totally WORTH. Side note: it's always busy here, but the wait is never long. Also, the bathrooms are pretty clean for all the foot traffic they get. read more

My favorite local spot for breakfast or brunch. I'm not saying they have the best waffles or pancake in all of brooklyn but they are pretty good. I've tried everything on their menu and I've never been disappointed with any of their dishes. Great spot to bring your family to enjoy breakfast or brunch. Service is always great and it's fun to hear the older locals chat up the wait staff reminiscing about famous people or politicians they used to know that are from the neighborhood. read more

I've always passed this place on my way to yoga. On the weekends there are lines waiting to get in. So I asked myself how good can this place be? Today, I found my answer: real good. The place is small, probably 10 booths and a counter. The counter is constructed of copper tin and the booths are comfy. There is a comfy vibe here and the entire staff is friendly and accommodating. The specials all sounded delicious from avocado toast to fried chicken and waffles. The menu has everything from burgers to eggs to salads. But today I'm trying to stick to lighter fare and I really wanted a turkey burger but they don't serve it.( Note to Pegasus:,at least offer it as a special). So I ordered the omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes, kalamata olives and onions with home fries and a side of whole wheat toast. The omelet was delicious and the home fries were crisp. The coffee was also fresh and piping hot. My mom ordered a hamburger but had sweet potato fries vs regular fries. My mom is convinced panko was used instead of bread crumbs. We had really nice service from Paris and Nick. My mom and I visited Greece in the past and both of our servers are from Greece and are brothers. It was nice to talk about Santorini and Mykonos, two beautiful islands. The owner, Harris, also was friendly and personable. I know the next time I travel to Greece I will be visiting Cyprus where the owner and his family are from. If you are looking for some great comfort food visit Pegasus, you will not be disappointed. read more

Hands down the best diner I've ever been to! Came here with a group of friends for breakfast on Monday (Columbus Day) and thank god it was still early enough where we were able to get seated right away. Halfway through our meal, the place was packed and had a long line for take-out/or to get seated. Their coffee was so good that I didn't even need to add sugar to it, just cream. It didn't taste weak nor watered down either. We all ordered an omelette breakfast. I had the wild western omelette-no cheese with potatoes and white toast. The food came out fairly quick and the waitress we had was awesome! She was always nearby to see if we needed anything/or if everything is okay plus our coffees and water glasses were never empty. The western omelette and potatoes were amazing, cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Highly recommend coming here! read more

This is a solid local brunch spot when you don't want to venture out too far into the city. The seating system is quite simple, you wait by the sign where it says "wait to be seated" and literally that's how patrons are seated, by order regardless of party size. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and were seated within 15 mins. Service is good and attentive. The best part is they have an extensive menu and also a brunch menu that has a variety of items that were more appealing. They have a nice selection for everyone. Pancakes with Nutella and banana + frozen "iced" hot chocolate for the kids (a bit too bitter for their taste - but it was good). Additionally, we ordered the kick ass Benedicts which I liked the ciabatta bread instead of the usual English muffin. The spicy hollandaise sauce was an nice touch. This is a nice revamp of the classic eggs Benedict if you want a little change and variation. (They have the classic version as well). And a whole lotta bacon on the side. The chicken with waffles was pretty good, it could be better if the chicken was crispier though. The mint lemonade was decent and the fresh orange juice wasn't that good for freshly squeezed. We are completely satisfied with this place since we had a good experience with the kids (nieces). The service was prompt because we sat at the bar. It seems to get very crowded and the wait may be extensive. It's a small restaurant. They do have a cute affordable selection for brunch. I do love the fact that they make freshly squeezed grape fruit or orange juice. I ordered eggs sausage and pancakes. My uncle ordered scrambled bacon and hash browns with toast. Have I really not written a review for Pegasus? I've been going here for years and seriously Pegasus has the best corn beef hash and eggs I've had in a diner. Not to mention that the home fries are delicious! From all the diners I've eaten in, Pegasus by far has the best home fries. It's tasty and with my over easy eggs, it's perfection. I can't count how many people I've brought here and had the same response that I have. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice and the coffee always taste good. Do expect a wait especially on the weekend. Usually there's a wait all the way outside, but it is definitely worth the wait. Recieved my Pro badge checking in here today yay! Came with the the hubby and kids for breakfast earlier, we always pass by for ice cream next door, it's packed all the time therefore never ate here before. I thought the food was mediocre, just good ole diner food. Pancakes were hard to cut cause they were stiff. Omeletes were dry, and overcooked. Their flat top wasn't cleaned throughly, you could tell from the brown residue left on the omelets that were served to us. At least the hash is seasoned well with a nice crispy exterior while the potatoes were nice and soft in the middle. I ordered avocado toast with eggs and a pastry. The only real positive was the bread itself, which was fresh, large, and actually tasted good. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. Although the avocado seemed less generic than standard store-bought guacamole, the taste was not good. The eggs were terrible -- they looked very unappetizing, tasted awful, and appeared nothing like the photo shown on Grubhub. The same photo also showed a small side salad, but no salad was included. I requested chili oil, and that was missing as well. The added cheese had virtually no flavor, so overall the dish felt careless, incomplete, and extremely unsatisfactory. I also checked the box requesting utensils, but no utensils or napkins were included. However, to be clear, this review is not about forgotten utensils. It is about the overall lack of quality, attention to detail, and customer care. The pastry was another culinary failure. It was sold under the French name -"Pan Au Raisin" but it was nothing like what real "Pain Aux Raisins " supposed to be, it was bland, greasy, oily and missing the traditional custard base plus it was delivered in an undersized paper envelope that left the food exposed, a clear violation of basic sanitary standards for food transport. Most importantly, this order caused me stomach pain and GI upset. This was the only food I had eaten in a 24-hour period, and more than 24 hours later I still felt unwell. The owner's reply to my original review was patronizing, dismissive, and refused to take any real accountability. Instead of addressing the food quality issues, the missing items, the poor packaging, and the physical reaction I had to the order, the response tried to reduce the entire problem to utensils and push the conversation into private email. I am keeping this public so other customers can make an informed decision. I wanted to support a new local business, but the bad taste, poor execution, misleading presentation, lack of care, and dismissive management made that impossible. Based on this experience, I would not order again and would not recommend this place to friends or family.
