So this place as my wife and I walk by has ALWAYS been packed... but we finally decided to venture out and see what the hype was all about. We popped in brunch and was not really greeted by anybody, but one of the waiters pointed at a table signaling us to sit there. This place is a really small, mom-and-pop type of brunch place which has its own hipster/city like charm with its decor of the bar and seating arrangements. The menu was pretty straight forward, but we decided to order off their "BRUNCH" menu that looks like it changes occasionally. I went with chicken and waffles and my wife ordered the french toast. The waffles were whatever -- nothing to really write home about, but the chicken tenders/strips as they advertise "NEVER FROZEN" really delivered. It had to have been one of the most tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked chicken strips I've ever had! It was perfectly accommodated with their homemade honey-dijon sauce. French toast with diced almonds and bananas -- my wife loved them; but I wasn't too big of a fan. It tasted very bland. Overall, this is a nice little place to have near by; you should definitely check it out but remember, they are cash only with no ATM on site, so come prepared! read more

This was a nice cute spot. Came here for a brunch on a weekday, and it didn't disappoint for a brunch spot. I had an omelet with potatoes and a coffee. My sister had pancakes and an OJ. The omelet was good, but not amazing. It was really decent though. I had a bite of the pancakes, which were also pretty good. We failed that we came after 11AM, when they top serving the waffles. Fail. The food is filling, and pretty good for the price. What cinches it for me is the service. I'm a sucker for good service, and for about 15-20 tables, there's only one waitress. And she is AMAZING. My sister ran an errand, so she texted me her order. When the food was ready and my sister still not there, the waitress volunteered to put the plate in the back to keep the food warm. HOW THOUGHTFUL. She was really timely with my coffee refills, and she was so friendly to the customers! Came for breakfast here with a few friends one early morning. Luckily there wasn't a line out the door. This place has dim lighting. it's relaxing and the staffs are so friendly. I had the French toast with bananas and walnuts. My goodness it was so good, I finished the whole dish. It comes with 4 halves of french toast, topped with bananas and walnuts as it says on the menu. The syrup is on the side. It was so good. My friends got the Irish breakfast with easy over eggs. It was so much on the plate. Although I didn't try it, it looked and smelled really good. I was so excited to come here but it was just ok. I ordered the kick ass eggs benedict. The home fries were well seasoned but could have been warmer. The eggs benedict was nothing special. The crostini it was served on was kind of soggy with zero crunch to it. The hollandaise sauce was standard. I was really hoping to be blown away based on the reviews. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles. I had a bite of that and that was pretty good. I would definitely suggest ordering that over the eggs benedict. Another thing is there is NO hallway for the bathroom so people were hovering over our table during the meal which was kind of awkward. I'm glad there's a good brunch place within walking distance of my apartment and I don't need to take the subway just to get anywhere good. I've passed by Pegasus lots of times but have never gone in until my best friend came for a visit. We were ushered in almost immediately and given cups of coffee to start out meal. My best friend ordered an omelette and I ordered french toast. And they were delicious! Just the perfect amount of home-cooked goodness especially if you're far from home. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea of though. Service is inconsistent and can sometimes be slow. But I think the food more than makes up for it. It's definitely cash-only but there are banks and ATMs nearby. If you're going on a weekend and want to avoid the rush, be sure to come early or late. Pegasus was pretty good in my opinion. I'm a brunch person and I LOVE local spots that serves brunch. My usual go to place is Milk & Honey and I go so often that I decided I needed a change. My friend recommended me Pegasus and I had my suspicions when I first heard about it. As I made my way there the interior is quite small making it a very comfy and homey feel. It's a place to grab brunch and enjoy a meal then leave. Overall I'd like to say my experience there is pretty good. My waiter was extremely helpful when it comes to telling us what's on the menu and what's good. I got the chicken and waffle meal and it's AMAZING. This is the best breakfast I've had in a while. We had to wait approximately 20 minutes. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. I had a cappuccino and it was a good balance between steamed milk and espresso. However, it was unsweetened, which threw me off a little. We ordered the Challah French toast and the meat mix omelette. The French toast was moist, indicating that they soaked it in the liquid for a sufficient amount of time. There was nice browning on the bread. The meat mix omelette was good but nothing over the top. 98% of the time there is a line for a table and 100% of the time it's worth the wait. Best diner in Bay Ridge and I am really going to miss this place. If I was Yelping from the first time I went here, I bet I would have checked in 30+ times. Everything I've had here has been well prepared, delightful and consistent. I have a hard time picking between the pepper & onion omelet, a potato, egg with cheddar cheese grilled on rye or French toast with berries for breakfast. When it's lunch time, the veggie burger is delicious and I highly recommend it if you are into them. If I had to pick one word to describe this spot, it would be: CONSISTENT. Their food is consistently good. Their freshly squeezed orange juice (recommended) is consistently good. Their service is consistently good. Even their line out the door is consistent. They have a lot of options on their menu which is typical of any diner menu. Banana nut muffin (toasted w/ butter) 5/5 Prosciutto panini 4/5 Chocolate chip pancakes 4/5 Chicken noodle soup 3/5 Orange juice 5/5 Their home fries are just the way I like it. Golden brown with that expected crunch on the outside. Bacon is nice and crispy, again, just the way I like it. The only thing that might be confusing is that there isn't a hostess to take down a name. You basically just wait in line.. So if you see people waiting outside, have the courtesy to ask whether they're online waiting first before you walk in. I really enjoyed my brunch here with my friends. It was a small (probably family run) diner but it was PACKED. I really suggest going early if you want to eat here because me and my friends came here on a Saturday and it was raining and still there was a long line. I think we waited about 10 to 15 minutes which isn't that bad. First let me start off by this place is CASH ONLY. So bring cash or else you'll have to use the ATMs around the area. I found the waiters nice and friendly. Our food arrived fast and I ordered a western omelet if I remember correctly as well as a cappuccino. I enjoyed both. It was all pretty good especially nice because the put our bread on the side with a separate plate for me and my friends. My friends had ordered the vanilla and chocolate milkshakes and orange juice. The milkshakes were good according to my friends and the orange juice wasn't as sweet as he expected. Probably because it's fresh squeeze so it'll depend on the orange itself! One of my friends ordered a banana and walnut(?) pancake and it looked delish! I might just have to try that next time. One of the highest rated places in the neighborhood - so I figured to come here for brunch. The menu was nothing special: waffles, pancakes, sandwiches & salads, etc .. Everything on your typical diner menu. The three of us ordered Belgian waffles, lumber jack, a bacon omelette and a haloumi panini with grilled chicken . The food was okay , although I have to say the panini I had was really tasty , they also give a side of small salad , and with the amount of grilled chicken they give you with the panini .. You can totally take some out to make yourself a small grilled chicken salad ! Came here for the brunch on Thursday. We were seated right away. It's a great place for our neighborhood. They have fresh squeezed juices which is always exciting. My friend ordered the turkey sandwich with French fries, I had the Avocado Toast which was amazing! It had a bit of the salad on the side, toasts had sunny side up eggs and avocado. Delicious! Been living in Bay Ridge for a while now, and this is definitely the best place for breakfast. I really can't recommend any one specific thing. It's all that good. That said, the fresh squeezed orange juice is great (order the large though), the waffles with fruit/Nutella/whipped cream worth your time, and the omelets tasty and big. As for the dining experience, it's a family owned and operated place, and they couldn't be nicer. They will make you feel right at home, taking the time to talk with you if you want, or giving you privacy if that's your thing. If you're in the area looking for a high quality breakfast joint, Pegasus is the place to be. There's usually a line, but the wait is never more than 10-15 minutes, usually less. read more

It's a good sized restaurant not to big, but when it gets packed you have to wait in line for seats. I always get omelettes they give you sides of home fries and toast. If you are not into home fries you can replace it with french fries. And boy their fries are delicious too! Their food portion is huge too! However, it's always a struggle for me to decide if I want to keep my regular orders I get or switch it up with pancakes or french toasts! My finally decision... I usually really like it here. Something has changed. We waited about 10 minutes for a table of 3. Took forever for someone to even ask if we wanted drinks. I ordered a cup of coffee. Not ONCE in the hour I was there did ANYONE ask if I wanted a refill. NOT ONCE. It took a while for our order to come and then my son and my mom got their food and I waited 20 minutes for mine. For a waffle. ONE WAFFLE. Our server didn't come by to check on us. Not to ask if we were OK. Not to ask if we needed anything. Not to see if I needed more coffee. Our dirty dishes were left on the table until I stacked them up. The owners were nowhere. Our server seemed clueless. Maybe it was her first day? I've never seen her. But she was terrible. Worst service - or lack there of - that I have ever gotten in a restaurant. And it's not cheap. Our bill was $48.65 for 3 people for BREAKFAST. The food was absolutely amazing! Definitely the best diner food I've ever had. I ordered French toast and bacon and it was the best French toast ever. The bacon was crispy and had just the right amount of salt. My girlfriend ordered a ham and mushroom omelette and although I usually dislike mushrooms the omelette tasted great. She also got a side of French fries and I was shocked at how good these were. They were better then most other fries that I've had. The waiter and manager(?) were polite and respectful, the establishment is small but has nice decorations and comfortable seats. We also ordered Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice. My mom wanted to substitute almond milk in her coffee, but they didn't have it (so she got the juice). The service was fast, and we got our food quite quickly. The food was presented beautifully, and tasted great. The Huevos Rancheros were tasty and all the flavors combined perfectly. The French Toast was very sweet and delicious. The Kiss A** Benedict had a kick, but that didn't take away from the flavor. When paying, they didn't take credit card (make sure to bring cash!!!)
