Our group of 10-15 ladies and a handful of husbands have been dining here EVERY week for 7 years or so. The food is good, the servers, Jamie, and Diana, and Juan are very liked by our group. 2 out of 10 ladies today did not order a meal, not sure about the men, they sit in a different room, there were 4 men PLUS 10 women today in the group. So after placing our orders, Fred the manager came out to us and said ordering meals was MANDATORY. So after 7 years of patronizing Peghas, our group is moving on. The food was good.. yet you can tell that the staff aren't on the same page as a team.. honestly some of the older ladies tried to over step the younger people, that got told to do their job. While they were talking with us. Yet if someone did that to one of the older women that work there , words and looks would be seen and said. The staff neeeds to be better about respecting each other and working as a team. Help each other out , so your customers don't pick up on it . Especially when we first walked in the building. Seemed like we were seen as a paycheck by the waiter we had. The young lady was much more of a people person with my husband and I. We came in from out of town , hubby has family here. That was our first experience with that place. Service was great and friendly but the food overall was meh! The kids pancakes were rubbery like they had been sitting in a heat lamp for too long, the biscuit was super dry even after putting butter and honey on it. The country fried steak was ok the gravy had a good taste and the fried chicken was good that came with the waffles. Honestly nothing special in my opinion and probably wouldn't go back. From the "onion lady" - Pegah's for me is like being with caring and fun family. I usually get the tuna salad on toasted sourdough, with a slice of onion, and am a happy camper, whether with fries or fruit. My other happy food is the BLT, with a slice of onion, and a bit of thousand island dressing on the side. I'm a dipper. Breakfast, if I get up that early, instead rushing in before the 2:30 PM closing time, has been wonderful, too. Bacon is yummy. I usually get the Senior Breako. My stomach isn't awake too early. Finally got the chance to try breakfast here. With all the high reviews I expected more. Staff wasn't nearly as attentive as most people say, coffee went unfilled for quite awhile, ice tea also. Nice little diner in Vista California. Came here with a friend who is from the area. Plenty of parking in the little plaza it's located in. The staff was super friendly and attentive. You truly get your bang for your buck. After a hike we worked up an appetite. So with that said i ordered a veggie omelette with a side of home potatoes, a short stack of pancakes and just coffee. We all enjoyed what we ordered. The staff had masks on and of course were cleaning after each party would leave and sanitized. Bathrooms were clean as well. Here's the thing about Pegah's... It's always delicious and hearty and filling. You go here when you want a fast tasty breakfast without all the frills. I really enjoy the fact that they're open to letting you customize your food to however you really want it. I guess my reasoning for 4 stars is because the parking, while plentiful, is still kind of a pain in the butt and the entrance can be confusing to find when everyone's coming from different angles. After being recommended this place by multiple people, we finally decided to try it. The atmosphere and lack of customer diversity as soon as we walked in should have been enough of a red flag. For the love of diners and my morbid curiosity, I had to try though. The servers were so-so and seemed to be annoyed to be there. The table diagonal of us left, muttering about how crappy the food was. Should have got up then but we ordered drinks. The cups were chipped and not clean in the least. The coffee, something every diner should pay attention to, was awful and tasted like burnt mud. After taking a few sips begrudgingly, we opened the menus to be hit with high prices for such simple foods. Looking back at the board, their special for the day was $19. $19! We fumbled around the menu for a bit and ordered the Lumberjack breakfast with pancakes and an omelette breakfast, then waited. For the lack of customers and simplicity of the items, the food took a rather long while. When our food finally arrived, I was disappointed. Our waitress had described the potatoes as squares, which is normal for home fries / country potatoes, with bell peppers, onions and seasoning. There were zero peppers in my husband's and mine had one, large, oddly shaped chunk of a bell pepper bottom. The onions were still in a clump and uncooked and the potatoes ranged from a sliver to a 2 inch, uncooked chunk. The eggs were not over medium as I'd ordered and were wet in a way that suggested they weren't cooked properly. They tasted awful and the pancakes tasted like water and bisquick. The bacon was the only half decent thing on either of our plates. Husband's omelette was lacking, undercooked and sloppy in presentation. The big kicker for the meal besides the price, which will haunt me for weeks, was that absolutely nothing was seasoned or had any real flavor. Not even a speck. It's almost as if this was a hospice care kitchen for high cholesterol patients. I've worked in senior care and even we put more seasoning than this. Worst $50 I've ever spent. read more

What a great experience. The food was great and the service was exceptional. My 5 year old granddaughter was coloring and after working on the drawing for 15 minutes she was crushed when her sister spilled water on it. The waitress came over and gave her a new coloring sheet and took the wet drawing to the kitchen and put it under the heat lamps. The drawing was returned a few minutes later dry and no worse for the wear. My granddaughter was thrilled. That was above and beyond service and I will be a regular from now on. Very large menu, breakfast lunch and dinner so many choices everyone will be able to find something they want. The prices are also very affordable for the amount of food you get. I ordered the veggie omelet and it was so good! Tons of veggies and cheese! It came with hash browns and toast or a biscuit. I got a biscuit with gravy and it was so good! The gravy had tons of sausage in it and had such good flavor. The hash browns were mushy, I prefer them more crunchy. My boyfriend got the lumberjack meal which came with so much food! He enjoyed everything. The only downside was the sausage was severely undercooked. Other than that food was great! Service was fantastic as well. I have been going to Pagah's, Vista since they opened and brought several groups and 20 to 30 people of my family many times. The one group I belong to has been coming to Pegah's for seven years, every Wednesday. We have about 8 to 12 people every week . This past Wednesday, November 5 was a real disappointing day at Pegah's. The owner, Fred came up to the table and said "I'm embarrassed to tell you this, but you are not ordering enough food to set at this table in the back room. Two girls did not order food that day, but that was very unusual. Most of our bills range from $15-$25 each time. There is not another table in the main dining room to seat 8 to 12 people. All the girls were so upset they couldn't say anything. I asked one of the waitresses, Diana, if there was something wrong with Fred, she said not that she knew. I always felt, I could talk to Fred so, I went to the front and asked to speak to him. I went off to the side so I wouldn't be in the main dining room. I said, Fred, what is going on, he said, what do you meant. I said I understand you told the girls they weren't ordering enough food to sit at that table. He proceeded to tell me he had overhead and had to meet it. I asked him if he would prefer for us not to come and he said, you can come or not come, it's up to you. I was very hurt. read more

This is super low quality food. When you see that they are old school - they really are. They serve smuckers syrup with caramel color in it with your food. I don't think I've seen these packets anywhere in like 20 years. I got head fog from the chemicals in their sausage Pattie's and decided to decline eating my French toast. They offer gluten free which is generally healthier but they are not healthier they are just capitalizing on gluten free like it's a trend. Lowest quality food I've seen in a minute. My husband and I live nearby and walked here for a nice midweek breakfast. The place was very clean and we were greeted right away. We were sat towards the back of the restaurant, which was nice and quiet. I was really impressed with the inside of this place given the outside, which looks old.
