David provided an excellent service to an incredibly complex front porch roof and gutter issue…read morecaused by a nest of squirrels living rent-free for decades. We bought a century-old rowhome in D.C. and didn't realize we also inherited a family of squirrels that ferociously dug into our front porch beam. We've gotten several quotes in the past two years where roofers and siding companies chalked it up as "this is going to cost you a lot of money and it's just not worth it." We finally decided to prioritize fixing this problem and got three quotes. I got two other quotes, and one was really expensive (due to different material cost) and the second one was comparatively the same. I trusted David's expertise because he was referred by my friend who highly recommended him (David fixed my friend's leaky roof issue nearby); and David didn't give me a run-around answer with the problem I had raised. When I finally decided to start on the project, David's team was ready to go. I wanted David to fix three big areas: 1) trimboard/beam; 2) gutter; and 3) front porch ceiling. David's team took photos throughout the process, identified that the front porch trim board didn't actually have a beam inside, so the squirrels lived in this hollow space filled with mulch and tree branches. They quickly gave me an estimate of the additional cost to add a beam and worked extremely hard to fixing the front porch roof area. They were done within a day and a half. I'm super pleased with David's craftsmanship. David went above and beyond my expectations, fixing a beautiful antique crown moulding that the squirrels chewed up, and making it look like new. I am so relieved to know this problem is now fixed and the squirrels have no way of getting back into the roof. Everything is sealed and properly done. Please protect David at all cost. He is a 10/10.

They confirmed the day of service twice the week before (despite not even giving a time window)…read more Then they didn't show up that day, didn't contact us about any delay/cancellation, and didn't respond to my follow-up email. At their request, we had already rescheduled another contractor as they can't have others on the property during service. Very disappointing since their reviews otherwise seem fine, although now I see several complaints that they're prone to missing the day they confirm.

At the time that I reached out to them I was having issues accessing their website (now working as…read moreof last week). Not sure if those initial issues were my computer or on their end. So I called and left a message and received a call back the following day. I explained to the person on the phone I couldn't get onto their website so she asked a few questions about my house etc. And gave me an estimate and told me when she could schedule. Luckily something opened up sooner than the previous date range so I said yes please come sooner. Since it had been a while since my gutters were cleaned and we've seen some overflow with the heavy rains. They came I happened to be home and they apparently cleared a good amount of debris, since I saw one of the crew carrying a big trash bag with a big wad of stuff at the bottom. They later emailed the invoice and then I paid online. Simple and straightforward which I like. Would certainly recommend.

The quote was competitive. The team was fantastic. Delivered materials the day prior and showed up promptly to begin work. Everything went incredibly smooth--the crew finished by late afternoon. Mason was friendly, professional, and available for any and all questions. The biggest relief is knowing we went with an experienced roofer that guarantees the quality of their work with an outstanding warranty. We are so glad we went with them over other options in Frederick. Looking forward to not needing to replace this roof again!

Bottom line up front: Impact Roofing is not a company that takes hands-on pride of their work. They…read morewill send a team of people who barely speak English to do your project with no supervision. The company will go hands-off as soon as they get your deposit. I almost never write bad Yelp reviews and I have been sitting on writing this review for a while but I had to because I am still so upset with the quality of service. When giving me my estimate, they sent a real professional to actually survey the property, go up on the roof, take measurements, etc. I had a really good feeling about the company. However, the person who gave me the estimate quit the company and I was reassigned to someone else who never physically came by to see the property. On the day of the installation, the team that they sent had no familiarity with the specifics of the project (which was attic insulation, gutter installation and rain barrel installation). I had to explain everything to them all over again, like they'd never heard of it before. It didn't help that they didn't really speak English and I had to show them what a rain barrel was with hand gestures. The workers installed my backyard rain barrel backwards, and my front yard rain barrel upside down. They took bricks from another part of my yard to mount my rain barrel without asking. The worst part by far: One of the workers, without asking, cut down my Virginia creeper plant that I had been growing and training for three years. It covered the front of my house and attracted birds and butterflies in the spring. Now it's destroyed. There was literally no reason to do this, he didn't ask for permission or anything (he said "it's poison!" when I asked why he did it; it's not, it's a harmless native plant). My house used to be unique, now it looks like every other house on the block. This last offense was intolerable, I called the company and demanded they sent someone down. They ultimately discounted the project by $2600, which was fine but did not compensate me for my loss. This was the first time any supervisor actually came to the property. It was clear the supervisor didn't know the workers at all, and he couldn't communicate with them any better than I could. The management had no interest in coming by to check work after it was complete, either. I had to reach out to them to request that they do so. They were perfectly content to just let their workers do it and leave for the day. Ultimately, they did the job that was on the contract, hence the two stars: they insulated my attic, installed gutters, and installed rain barrels. But everything else was a terrible experience. I wish I could undo hiring them in the first place.
