I used to love Peet's but I feel like in the last year their quality has plummeted. Last time I ordered a cappuccino and a breakfast burrito, and they were both inedible. I like that Peet's focuses on the quality of their coffee. They don't have a bunch of crazy different types of drinks or food options like Starbucks does, and it really shows that instead of trying to do everything, they focus on quality. It really is a world of a difference in the coffee between Peet's and Starbucks. In terms of this location, it's far from home, but that's because they closed the Woodland Hills Village location and the one at the Topanga mall in Woodland Hills is awkward because it's halfway in a crowded mall next to a kiddie train...? Closing the one in the village was a really bad move because that one actually felt more appropriate given the ambiance of the village. Anyway, this Tarzana one is good. The people who work there are nice and it's a nice quiet place to work. Plenty of seating and friendly service. I'm not a Peet's regular, so I had a variety of questions before ordering and all were answered with a smile. I like that they have the wide cups for cappuccino if you're having your beverage in house, which I was. It was also kind of cool how many regulars were there; they knew the staff, each other, etc. It did provide a bit of sensory overload, as far as volume of conversations go, but people were friendly. So I've been traveling recently, and have had Peet's Coffee at home (meaning I bought it at the store and brewed I myself). Never was I disappointed when I personally made my own - cost efficient of course. BUT after having Starbucks nearly 7 days a week for the past couple weeks, and being in LaLa Land (a place with some of the worlds best coffee mind you) I needed to switch it up. Here at this location, the service incredible - the cashier/waiter brewed my coffee, mixed it exactly perfect, and brought it to my table with a smile, and very quickly. The store is super clean and a great atmosphere, with classical music playing in the background. Lastly, the coffee....SO GOOD! First time here, wanted to try something different from Starbucks. The guy at the register, taking our order was VERY rude and seemed to be hating life. It's common courtesy to be polite to people that haven't been to your store and don't really know what to order. We came to a quick decision, ordered and waited and waited and waited. The people that came after us got their order before us. We asked them what was going on and it seemed that they completely forgot about our order. It breaks my heart to do this since Peet's is my favorite coffee chain but I won't visit this location anymore. Today, I planned on getting a couple hours of work done here but after one hour, a security guard came in and went table to table showing customers photos of cars that were about to be towed. She said there was a one-hour time limit which was unbeknownst to everyone (no visible signs on lot). I know it's the property manager that hired the security guard and instructed her to do this, but I blame Peet's. If this was a condition in your lease agreement, then it's a shitty one and you never should have signed it. If it wasn't, then you need to have a talk with your property manager and tell him/her that this is unacceptable. You are the anchor tenant in this strip mall. You are the boss. If this is the way you want it, then fine, but this is the only coffee shop in town that I know of that kicks patrons out after one hour. Wow what a great morning I was very upset all this morning until I got to this great sis's café the breakfast was amazing and the coffee was excellent I choose the Columbian coffee and it was very pleasant the team was very quick and I didn't wait so much I really recommend this coffee place for everyone. Best coffee place in town! This is the closest location to me and I drove the distance to get a mocha! This location is in a strip mall that is super busy, apparently, because I (and a few others) had to wait for a parking space to open up. Once I got into the shop, I could smell the coffee! The place is open... lots of tables pretty close together. People are sitting and talking and hanging out and some are reading or working on their laptops or devices. My mocha was delicious. I'm not a coffee expert but I do know that Starbucks and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf don't even come close to Peet's coffee. The coffee has amazing flavor, robust, if you will. The overall quality is just unbeatable. The customer service was great, too. Nice guy at the counter - warm and friendly. The barista was quick and made my mocha just right! The dude that greeted us and made our coffee was so helpful, nice, and gave us a little suggestion on our ice blended coconut drink -- he could make it with mocha to make it taste like a Mounds bar. We said "Hell yeah! Put it in a large cup!" He made it for us pretty quickly and asked us what we thought of it.... Verdict is.... DELICIOUS! It wasn't too sweet which is great because at some other chain coffee shops, drinking an ice blended is like saying hello to another cavity. The service is here a joke!!!! Lines to the door almost every time I stop in and only 2 people working. This is not a bad review based on their skills but a bad review based off of corporate greed. The location gets plenty of business and everything is priced similar to Starbucks and coffee bean so it's not like you are getting a deal for waiting 20 minutes just to place an order. If you are going to see your customers over with understaffing at least give them the illusion you care about their business but giving them 10% off for the wait or something. read more

So I have driven by this place a few times and recently noticed their coffee at the grocery stores, so I of course checked out Yelp to see what they had going on and if it was worth going in. Glad I did. HOLY MOLY they have good coffee!!! I ordered a regular sized coffee on my way to work yesterday, not sure which blend or roast or type. But WOW it tasted really good. It had a very distinct coffee flavor that had a lil nutty sweetness to it. It was so good I went back this morning to see if it would taste the same (Ya know...just in case I was just having one of those days yesterday and maybe just thought their coffee was the best I had ever tasted) Peets delivered AGAIN. It wasn't crowded, Customer service was great and I noticed that the Barista knew most of the customers by first name. As to the size of the place and all of that, it was average, comparable to Starbucks or Coffee Bean and I am almost certain I didn't see any outdoor seating as I read was mentioned in another review. So that might be some what of a minus against the place. Seriously? Really? Do I really need to Yelp! another Peet's Coffee & Tea? Hell yeah! You could imagine the joy I experienced when this Peet's opened a few years ago near me! Before that I used to get my Peet's fix at Studio City or Brentwood. Now it's just a hop, skip, and a jump to get to this caffeinated paradise that is Peet's. The store itself is tiny; just a handful of tables and chairs for about 30 people. The rest of us enjoyed our Peet's either to go or just sit outside in the parking lot (or wrestle for that one outdoor bench). The staff is really friendly and even if you come in just 5 minutes before closing, they won't think twice about brewing a new batch of their daily coffee. Need wi-fi access...no problem either. One thing that holds very true about Peet's Coffee; their daily brew is consistent. I never had a wimpy watery cup of coffee from any Peet's. Just good hair-raising, growth-stunning, up-until-3 a.m. cup of joe! Other drinks such as their Freddos and lattes are also very tasty and bold. Customizing your drinks is not a problem. A couple of hiccups with this Peet's: short store hours, small parking lot, and minimal seating. Other than that, knock yourself out! read more

I love peets coffee way better than starbucks! This is my go-to location, mainly because it's the closest to me in Northridge. Parking can be tough depending on the time of day you go. I usually ago before 6am during the week before heading to work. My go to drink is the coconut black tie. It's sweeter than the regular black tie but still has a good strong coffee taste which I like. I also recently tried the cold brew fog latte which is mostly likely one of my new go-to drinks. The drink is nice and creepy. It comes out foamy on the top which somehow makes the drink more satisfying on the palate(?). It's nice of like the Starbucks Nitro cold brew but better! As for the actual place, it is kind of small. I tried studying here once and there aren't many places to sit, so I suggest not going here for a study session. The only reason I give one star off is because some of the workers can look a little more happy when you come in the morning. Most of the workers are friendly and greet you but certain employees just look a little miserable, but I guess I look miserable having to work before 7am as well.
