The staff (from counselors to instructors) is also fantastic and a group of very experienced professionals. The directors are always developing new programs and bringing in the latest activities for campers of all ages. One of the newest additions to the camp is the climbing wall and zip line. My kids could not get enough of them. My kids are also huge fans of animals and the fact that Deerkill has a pony, and a couple of friendly alpacas is a great plus. Overall, I would recommend Deerkill to anyone that would like to provide their kids with the opportunity to have summers they will never forget making life long friends along the way. He has been enjoying summers at Gate Hill day camp for three years in a row. Where do I start? The facilities are neat and modern. The staff is very personable, enthusiastic and cheerful and overall the Camp is run very smoothly and professionally. On a day to day basis the Camp runs like a well oiled machine providing the children with a wide variety of activities and different themes for each day. They add some nice personal touches by providing daily summaries of what the kids did each day and text message updates to let you know if the buses are running behind due to traffic. As parents, we couldn't be happier that our son is growing as a person, learning different sports and games and making great friends in a safe and beautiful environment .

There are several vending machines with snacks and drinks at good prices, including (thank God!) Bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos. There is a window with menus next to it and a "Moe's" sign above it .(as in, the quick service Mex-American restaurant .) But I have not ever seen the window open. Let it be known, It would make my day to eat moes during practice. Even without Tex-Mex fast food, this is a wonderful facility. I almost don't mind that I have to drive 35 minutes twice a week to get here.

The disciplinary system of the camp is horrible!!! I have witnessed it myself and a fellow mate of mines that is a counselor has told me as well about his working experience with these kids. My fellow mate had also told me that kids get punished when they disrespect their counselors and the counselors get heated up and take it on the children!! I would highly not recommend this camp especially!!! Especially next year!!!
