So, this is a park/beach which is within bicycling range of where we live in Stamford. During the…read morenice months (May through October) it is for residents only ($70 parking fee) but it is free to cyclists at any time of the day, which is very nice, as it makes a place we can bicycle to during the weekends. It's a very pretty, well-maintained park. There's a number of tennis courts as well as platform tennis, which is a flavor of tennis I hadn't heard of until moving to this area. There's also a nice beach, with a pretty view of the sound. It's a nice place to walk and enjoy the nice weather. If you live in the area, or are able to access by bicycle, it's definitely worth visiting. Pack a picnic in your bike bag and enjoy the view!

Getting out to the main road was a total nightmare, when every one was leaving at the same time. The sand is rough with a million seashells to step on. It's so bad I kept my slippers on, even in the water. Although there's a lot of algae, the water is so clean there were guppies swimming around. There was a few people past the water border and the life guard wasn't paying attention. My daughter told me she almost drowned, so I told her to stay on the sand with us for the rest of the day.. because when I glanced over the guard was too busy chatting with a girl instead of watching the water. Good thing the food line was small when we ordered fries. Brianna was friendly. The fries tasted warm and fresh. A few hrs later the line was way too long, which sucked because I would have bought some more juice when I ran out. We came in 10 am, the people collecting admissions were very nice. By the time the evening came the beach was overcrowded, some people were walking on my blanket; not sure if this is legal to have so many people occupying such a small space. The show was really pretty, but I rather not come here again.

I'm a Bridgeport resident so the entry was $100. We didn't think it was worth it so we headed home. Then we changed our minds like whatever. We made a wrong turn & to our surprise we found a public parking around the corner. We were beyond delighted. Although we found public parking it was $25 per family for walk-ins. Attendants up front @ the admission entry were very friendly & nice! Ocean water was very clean you could see the fishes. We loved it. Make sure you bring water shoes there are a ton of seashells & rocks in the sand & water. Fireworks show was amazing! The only thing was we were caught up in traffic when it ended which sucked. The show was sooo worth it though! Hope all you Yelpers had a happy 4th! I know I did!

We went through Cold Spring Harbor and Joe knew all the geography and history of the area. A highlight of the trip was getting to see a bald eagle which I know is a rare sight. There are chairs and benches for dog owners to hang out on, doggy bags (they're usually stocked but as I write this review, this is the first time it's not stocked), water bowls, pool tubs for the dogs, and a hose to fill the pool and water bowls. There's enough parking and there's a playground right across. As for the dog owners, there's always an issue on the larger dog side. The owners don't really pay attention to their dogs and a fight breaks out. Not too many people take responsibility. The smaller dog side is great, though. Everyone gets along and the owners are more responsible than the larger dog side (maybe because the land area is so much bigger than the small dog side). Either way, it's conveniently located near home.

They provided two Yeti coolers and a Bluetooth speaker for music which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped take pictures for our group and the sailing was very smooth. I would definitely book again, probably earlier in the summer for the 3 hour cruise to be able to do the paddleboarding.
