To make a long story short, my vaccines are covered by my insurance contract as preventative care. The billing department is relentlessly billing me because of a miscommunication over a clerical issue between them and the medical group. The medical group is stating they will not pay the claim because the doctor's office didn't submit the claim on time. And both parties cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. The medical group is saying the doctor's office is lying to me, the doctor's office is saying the medical group is lying to me. It's impossible to make sense of and my insurance and the medical group has informed me this is a cost the doctor's office should assume due to an error on their end. The doctor's office is stating "you signed paperwork, so too bad you need to pay," which basically communicates - if we don't do our job properly or cannot provide proof that we did our job properly, too bad pay up....even though I pay monthly for insurance and the services and vaccines provided are FULLY COVERED under my contract. Ericka in billing is TERRIBLE. Her customer service is ridiculous. A representative at both anthem AND prospect medical group were yelled at on the phone and had to send her to an escalation call. When I spoke to her to try to get to the bottom of it, she raised her voice, started getting emotional, and lost all semblance of professionalism, stating "she was just speaking to me the way she was being spoken to." Of course I am frustrated, atigas office is getting me involved in a "he said she said" scenario with a medical group, neither party can prove what is happening, I cannot speak with a level headed individual at their office, and the situation is a MESS. When I told her I'd likely have to switch to another doctor due to these persisting issues she said "at this point we are happy to see you go!" We will likely have to file a claim with a regulatory board. Dr. Atiga, if you read this, please consider who you hire to represent your office. Problems cannot be solved when your billing department refuses to remain calm and professional, and I should not be stuck with a bill due to an in office mistake. It's unfair, I will be switching providers because your office staff is impossible to deal with.

(We already did preliminary x-ray, ice and elevation prior to my deeper concern) I requested that he be ordered an MRI due to abnormal palpitation of his knee and surrounding tissue, increased pain and decreased mobility. After a quick examination, I was told he did not need the MRI and to continue to ice/elevate. Mind you, I would not have brought my son into her office had I thought this was a normal healing process. One week later, my son woke up in agony and could not put weight on his left knee. Went to ER, sat for 12 hours (and what do you know, they ordered an MRI!!!) and he was transferred to Rady children's for surgery and drainage of infected fluid in a rare condition that happens in blunt force traumas called "morel Lavallee lesion" Had this doctor listened to my concerns and ordered the MRI as I tried to justify to her, we could have handled the problem a week sooner and non emergent, likely saving me thousands in an ER visit. The visit was pointless otherwise, and clearly my concerns were not taken seriously. Avoid.

I saw a primary doctor at my health organization I work for when I was first feeling unwell and had a fever. Not much was done and all my testing came back negative (covid etc). This was on a Tuesday. I went to this urgent care the same week on a Friday. The front desk girls were really nice and professional. The waiting area is clean. They are cashless FYI (I paid with Apple Pay). On Friday I came right when they opened. First the MA(assumption on the title she took vitals and asked qualifying questions). She was brief and then turned on music before she left while my wife and I waited for the PA. I'm not a huge fan of the fact that music is being played. Especially when you feel miserable. Not sure if that is for patient privacy (if the walls are thin) but it was odd. Anyways, I went over my symptoms with the PA who was super nice. PA Stock. There wasn't really much done that visit. I know with a virus you just have to kind of ride it out. But it just kept getting worse. So I left and ended up coming back Sunday... that same week. This is where the magic happened. I was in so much pain I couldn't take it anymore. My throat, upper respiratory, sinuses, eyes were infected... and so my wife and I drove again to this urgent care. This time on the way there I booked my appointment online which is an awesome tool! When I got there I had a bit of a wait but it's urgent care and it wasn't like 2 hours and I had no choice. When I got back to the doctors office and waited for him that took a while. But A) I was in so much pain every minute felt like an hour and B) That Urgent Care got slammed and had limited providers. The xray tech did vitals and was super sweet and empathetic. Asked if I needed any water etc (that really goes a long way). Again goes the music haha my wife actually turned it off after a little bit. I would just recommend asking the patient before turning it on. I know it seems silly that it's just music but radio like music playing loudly when you feel horrible is just not the bees knees. Finally, at last the doctor arrives. I really didn't expect much to be honest because it's really hard to find a good doctor in general and especially at an urgent care I've had more bad experiences than good. Well this doctor is the reason I'm leaving this review. Dr Hamzeh was all about "how do we get you better" even with it being so busy I did not feel rushed or dismissed. He right then and there gave me treatment options that I took and prescribed me an antibiotic that I needed. I take several medications for some health issues I have so I get really worried about medication interactions esp having a past or doctors prescribing conflicting medications. He reassured me... more than once and I'm so sorry if I was annoying asking twice haha that I would be okay. And I was. I had a few questions after he left and he kindly came back to us when he had time to answer them. He was very confident in how he was treating me and actually took the time to help me. I started gradually feeling better the next day. It took a few more days to notice a bigger difference but I did! I was back to work by Wednesday. Today is Friday and although I still have the after effects of the virus and am not 100% I'm about 90% and that's all thanks to the Dr. Thank you to the staff and Dr Hamzeh on last Sunday. For someone who works in healthcare and someone who needs healthcare I know how frustrating it is to continue to pay copays with no help.
