To make a long story short, my vaccines are covered by my insurance contract as preventative care. The billing department is relentlessly billing me because of a miscommunication over a clerical issue between them and the medical group. The medical group is stating they will not pay the claim because the doctor's office didn't submit the claim on time. And both parties cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. The medical group is saying the doctor's office is lying to me, the doctor's office is saying the medical group is lying to me. It's impossible to make sense of and my insurance and the medical group has informed me this is a cost the doctor's office should assume due to an error on their end. The doctor's office is stating "you signed paperwork, so too bad you need to pay," which basically communicates - if we don't do our job properly or cannot provide proof that we did our job properly, too bad pay up....even though I pay monthly for insurance and the services and vaccines provided are FULLY COVERED under my contract. Ericka in billing is TERRIBLE. Her customer service is ridiculous. A representative at both anthem AND prospect medical group were yelled at on the phone and had to send her to an escalation call. When I spoke to her to try to get to the bottom of it, she raised her voice, started getting emotional, and lost all semblance of professionalism, stating "she was just speaking to me the way she was being spoken to." Of course I am frustrated, atigas office is getting me involved in a "he said she said" scenario with a medical group, neither party can prove what is happening, I cannot speak with a level headed individual at their office, and the situation is a MESS. When I told her I'd likely have to switch to another doctor due to these persisting issues she said "at this point we are happy to see you go!" We will likely have to file a claim with a regulatory board. Dr. Atiga, if you read this, please consider who you hire to represent your office. Problems cannot be solved when your billing department refuses to remain calm and professional, and I should not be stuck with a bill due to an in office mistake. It's unfair, I will be switching providers because your office staff is impossible to deal with.

Haven't been to a doctor since my OBGYN when I had my baby almost two years ago and knew that I needed a checkup! She is so sweet and friendly and puts you at ease, there was a nurse there as well (I believe his name was Joel) who was also awesome. I loved the feeling of not being "judged" as I answered all the basic health questions. Dr. Matta has an excellent bedside disposition and calmly answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. She patiently listened to all my concerns without making me feel paranoid and ordered a full blood panel to check all my numbers. There is a lack of operational efficiency at every turn. I did my best to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just a busy day but I am now on my 5th attempt to contact this office and my hold time today exceed 41 minutes before I gave up. Our 1st telehealth appointment was confusing, Dr. Matta was late, then there were zero instructions on how to obtain scripts for labs. We weren't informed which lab the requests were sent to. Since you can't efficiently get ahold of anyone on the phone this required my husband to make an extra trip to drive across town to find out in person. Now let's chat about the Patient Portal where we messaged the Doctor on February 11th and the office did not return our call/message for A MONTH. 2nd appointment. Our $100 copay was conveniently collected but our appointment time came and went with zero communication from the office. I remained in a hold queue for 30 minutes, about to hang up when a text comes through with a Zoom link. Dinner is now cold, there is zero respect for patient time and I am expected to join this call as if I was not just completely inconvenienced at the cost of $100. At the end of the day we are all trying to navigate a broken system. Practices that have zero respect for patient time are not helping. I can't in good faith recommend this office with my recent experience that spanned over a few months.

Then proceeded to tell her she was too skinny and needed to start a high calorie diet and also was questioning if she gets fed enough and kind of suggesting there might be child abuse going on in our home. I was LIVID. My daughter has been thin her entire life and it's very easy to see that on her charts. I can't believe the audacity of Dr. Schiffer to even comment on her body and to push vaccine she knew I didn't want her to have. She had access to my phone number and email and could've spoken to me about any issues she had. Will never be returning to this practice.
