We started bringing our firstborn in before she turned one, and from the very beginning, we were so thankful to have found this practice. Dr. Phan is thorough, kind, and direct. He makes both me and my husband laugh, and he always makes us feel heard and validated. He listens attentively to our concerns, provides sound, evidence-based advice, and truly demonstrates compassion and care with every visit. I just had our second baby on May 15. I was able to get an appointment scheduled the very next day (a Friday) for the following Monday morning. At that visit, we learned that our baby had lost 12% of her birth weight. This exact thing happened with our first, and our old pediatrician handled it terribly--immediately mentioning "failure to thrive" and making us feel panicked and inadequate. So this time, as Dr. Phan was gently walking me through the next steps, I started crying. But instead of jumping straight to suggesting formula, he encouraged me to take care of myself first and to pump to see what my output was. To my surprise, I was producing plenty of milk. That encouragement lit a fire in me--and by that Friday, our baby girl was already back to her birth weight. I am endlessly grateful for Dr. Phan. He was encouraging, compassionate, and honest throughout the process. Most importantly, he reassured me that he wasn't concerned about our baby's health, which gave me an incredible sense of peace. His calm confidence was the complete opposite of the fear and guilt we were met with from our previous pediatrician. Nurse Practitioner Ms. Shayla is also absolutely lovely--and our toddler adores her. For a while, our daughter was terrified of doctor visits, but Ms. Shayla completely changed that. She made her feel safe and comfortable, to the point where our daughter now chats her ear off the moment she walks in the room. Ms. Shayla has been a true gift in building trust and warmth around medical care for our little one. The front office and nursing staff are incredible as well. They are helpful, kind, patient, and consistently accommodating--especially when something urgent comes up. We always feel supported, never dismissed or rushed. Honestly, we never want to leave this area solely because of this practice. If we ever move, we're already prepared to make the drive back just to keep Dr. Phan and his team in our lives. Seriously--this office is amazing, and we are so, so grateful. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a pediatrician who leads with knowledge, compassion, and heart.

As any parent would be, I was concerned and looking for guidance and reassurance. Unfortunately, the visit felt very dismissive. The doctor came into the room and stated that "fevers are good" and that if my child was not in pain, I did not need to treat the fever. While I understand that fevers can be part of the body's normal response to illness, the way this was communicated came across as dismissive of my concerns as a parent. I left the appointment feeling unheard and without the reassurance or explanation I was hoping for after bringing in an infant with a high fever. Parents seek urgent care because they are concerned about their child's well-being, and a little empathy and communication can go a long way. I hope future families receive more compassionate and thorough care when seeking medical attention for their children.

We used to live in LA and were referred to this Dr by family in Temecula. My kids were born in LA. We moved when they were newborn to Hemet. We drive to Temecula from Hemet just to see this doctor. He and his staff have been nothing but amazing. ANYTIME I call, they have answered and even have given us same day appointments if need be! They NEVER have multiple patients piled up in the waiting room for hours which is nice when you have young children and covid/flu going around. I also never have to wait more than 3 minutes TOPS in the waiting room. This doctor is the expectation of what I want in a doctor as an adult. I believe when you make an appointment, you should be seen at that appointment time and that's exactly what this doctor does. He's never condescending or rude, but he does tell the truth and is straightforward with you. It sounds like some of the comments that people can't handle the truth. I went through pediatric partners when my son was born and every time I went, I had to wait over two hours. That's really difficult with a newborn and a mom who is just giving birth. I also saw a different doctor every time which is also frustrating because having to re-explain certain medical condition conditions or situations is also frustrating. Pediatric partners and Hemet really dropped the ball with us several times his first year of life. So we ended up switching over to Dr Azhand and let me tell you it's been a game changer. Please don't read the negative reviews on this app and think that he's just the worst doctor in the world. Our 1st telehealth appointment was confusing, Dr. Matta was late, then there were zero instructions on how to obtain scripts for labs. We weren't informed which lab the requests were sent to. Since you can't efficiently get ahold of anyone on the phone this required my husband to make an extra trip to drive across town to find out in person. Now let's chat about the Patient Portal where we messaged the Doctor on February 11th and the office did not return our call/message for A MONTH. 2nd appointment. Our $100 copay was conveniently collected but our appointment time came and went with zero communication from the office. I remained in a hold queue for 30 minutes, about to hang up when a text comes through with a Zoom link. Dinner is now cold, there is zero respect for patient time and I am expected to join this call as if I was not just completely inconvenienced at the cost of $100. At the end of the day we are all trying to navigate a broken system. Practices that have zero respect for patient time are not helping. I can't in good faith recommend this office with my recent experience that spanned over a few months.

She has treated us kindly, efficiently & always answers any after hour calls. She respects my choice not to vaccinate and is never pushy. With that being said, my recent time there a few weeks back was absolutely horrible. The staff is new & unorganized as well as very slow, the books are no longer in the waiting room, they have an automated phone system that takes annoying long to get through to an actual front desk person & the nurse practitioner (Angela, I think) was so extremely pushy on my daughter getting two vaccines. I recommend NOT going there! I am very unhappy with the changes that have been made.
