If I could give this practice zero stars I would. PLEASE read this if you are debating bringing your children to this office. The physicians do their jobs, but the back office is a MESS. To make a long story short, my vaccines are covered by my insurance contract as preventative care. The billing department is relentlessly billing me because of a miscommunication over a clerical issue between them and the medical group. The medical group is stating they will not pay the claim because the doctor's office didn't submit the claim on time. And both parties cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. The medical group is saying the doctor's office is lying to me, the doctor's office is saying the medical group is lying to me. It's impossible to make sense of and my insurance and the medical group has informed me this is a cost the doctor's office should assume due to an error on their end. The doctor's office is stating "you signed paperwork, so too bad you need to pay," which basically communicates - if we don't do our job properly or cannot provide proof that we did our job properly, too bad pay up....even though I pay monthly for insurance and the services and vaccines provided are FULLY COVERED under my contract. Ericka in billing is TERRIBLE. Her customer service is ridiculous. A representative at both anthem AND prospect medical group were yelled at on the phone and had to send her to an escalation call. When I spoke to her to try to get to the bottom of it, she raised her voice, started getting emotional, and lost all semblance of professionalism, stating "she was just speaking to me the way she was being spoken to." Of course I am frustrated, atigas office is getting me involved in a "he said she said" scenario with a medical group, neither party can prove what is happening, I cannot speak with a level headed individual at their office, and the situation is a MESS. When I told her I'd likely have to switch to another doctor due to these persisting issues she said "at this point we are happy to see you go!" We will likely have to file a claim with a regulatory board. Dr. Atiga, if you read this, please consider who you hire to represent your office. Problems cannot be solved when your billing department refuses to remain calm and professional, and I should not be stuck with a bill due to an in office mistake. It's unfair, I will be switching providers because your office staff is impossible to deal with. read more

3 babies under 3, Dr atiga has been great in the hospital and with their circs (don't recommend watching that), and I absolutely love the office staff.. P.A. Erika is my absolute FAVORITE!!! She goes above and beyond, takes as much time as we need, answers more questions, listens to my stories, and I adore her personality and beautiful spirit! All 3 of my boys have been seen here since moving to California. The best experience I've had with any pediatric office. They are quick to help especially if you need to be seen urgently. My third son just turned a month on Sunday, I didn't know you had 30 days or up to 10 lbs. for circumcision, and Dr. ATIGA was kind enough to squeeze us into his full schedule before his vacation. That right there is amazing care and he is so kind and patient. The PA's are very sweet, personable, and always do so well with my rowdy boys. The front office staff is very nice, and they are very good with scheduling and relaying any concerns you may have. They always answer the phone, which is nice. 5/5 stars for our family, we're grateful to have such an amazing pediatrician for our children. read more

I went here for 2 month shots , I than realized they gave her two shots and in her shot paper they only put that they gave her one shot and Ive been asking for her shot record, and they have yet to send me her shot record I've been calling them asking them to send it to me for a couple weeks now . I don't recommend coming here when I had my daughter I told them I had another pediatrician in mind to go and they still booked my appointment with them after having my daughter. read more

The one star is purely for the billing. Dr. Atiga was the on call pediatrician on the day my daughter was born. When I received a bill for Dr. Atiga almost a year after I gave birth I was confused since the hospital bill was processed and paid for through my insurance. When I called in to I asked why I was getting a bill they said my insurance didn't know who I was. I was assuming there was an error so I ask for my insurance explanation of benefits but I was told no they wouldn't give that out. But I went on his website I filled out a request on their website and spoke with their billing representative multiple times and was told they would look into it but I never received a call back. I called my insurance they said they never received a claim (which is why I assumed they never wanted to give me an eob). I was still waiting to hear back about their reprocessing or any update but I received a noticed that they sent me to collections. Please be aware of their poor business practices, even if you have zero control over if he sees your newborn in the hospital like me. read more

This place never answers the phone !!! We took our son here for his circumcision. That day of his procedure we paid for it. Then a week later we had his follow up appointment. I called the day before to see if we had to pay for the follow up appointment, and the lady on the phone told me know that it was part of the cost that we had already paid. A few weeks go by and then we get a bill for $92.00 for the follow up appointment!! All for the lady to check him out for not even two minutes. I tried calling and getting a hold of them and no answer or call back after leaving voicemails. Another time I called and someone answered and hung up right away. Dr. Atiga was nice The day we did the circumcision and seem professional so it's nothing against him but it's the ladies who are in the office who are giving the customers false information and can't even do their job and answer the phones or call people back. read more

My son has been going here since he was born and five years later they have no idea who he is. If you are looking for a personal experience with your child's pediatrician this isn't the place. The PA actually wrote my son was autistic once on a medical clearance for preschool when he does not have autism and never has ? Anyway, typical medi-cal doctor that will slowly and surely degrade any little bit of hope you have left for our healthcare system. Our kids started visiting this office in February, after my youngest was born. I saw Dr. Atiga as a kid and was so excited to see his office was open to new patients. Unfortunately in 10 months, my kid's didn't once see Dr. Atiga. We only saw his many PAs. They don't take any time to spend with the kids and build a relationship, they move people through this office in and out! The office is small and cramped and is not a friendly environment for kids- there's no room to move around and everything is cold and sterile. It's clean, but not inviting for children. No toys and they JUST put some pictures on the wall. They don't even use character band aids when the kids get shots! There was nothing kid friendly about this place. Both my little ones would freak out during doctors visits, something we never experienced at our last office. The walls are thin and you can hear the conversations of the patients in the rooms next to you. They are constantly training PAs, which is great, but I hate how they do it. Instead of the sitting PA overseeing those in training, they let the trainee do an exam, then the sitting PA comes in and they do the entire exam all over again! They don't seem to listen to anything the trainee relayed to them, so you have to repeat everything all over again and your kid has to go through another uncomfortable exam. I did like the nursing staff. They were very attentive and warm. When they administer the vaccines for the first time they have you wait in the office to make sure your little one doesn't have a reaction. read more

I chose Dr Atiga's office based off of a recommendation from a friend and I am so glad that I went with their office ! I have absolutely loved every provider who has seen my baby! You can choose who you want to see your baby, however I don't really mind who sees her because they have all been so great! As a first time mom, I love that they really seem to care about my baby girl and they take the time to answer all of my questions ! I cannot say enough good things about this office! I have called in for advice and they return my call within a few hours. For my personal insurance, I have Kaiser and it typically takes a few days to hear back with a response, so this office's response time really blew me away! I would highly recommend this office to anyone who wants to see providers who will love and care for your kiddos as if they were their own! read more

Lorinda from Jon Atiga office has 0 customer service. She has huffing and puffing problems when asked questions. Please advise your staff to have manners and learn how to treat parents correctly is called common respect. As our concern is about our children not the staff. Jacqui was very helpful and understanding. The manager Celina has no respect but instead has a very aggressive personality. Does not know how to behave herself around other adults but instead tries to belittle others to get her way. Customer service is lacking in this department. My kids have gone to this doctors office, and it has been nonstop issues, and rookies. Appointments generally take over an hour from when you are scheduled before you leave, so expect to take time off of work if you want to go to the appointments. A few times we had different random doctors, that seem to be learning, since they did not really provide much information, read off a questionnaire, didn't spend any time listening. My kids have been going here for over a year, and I have never met or seen Artiga himself. Feels a bit dishonest to have him as my kids primary but they never get to see him, instead these random people that clearly don't know the history other than skimming through the chart a few minutes. There has been a few really nice folks that work there, like the nurse, she's been really nice and awesome. Another doctor who's super happy and hyper also has been a pleasure. The unfortunate part is when you get someone who is clearly new, doesn't have any answers, and you may never see again anyways. The front desk staff are rude, and even more so when you call in. The billing department is running some type of scam, my wellness visits somehow turn into regular appointments for asking questions. Referrals get forgotten, or take weeks to complete. I have to follow up and remind them, or things don't move. What they won't forget though is to bill you. The entire experience in general has been bad, Artiga I hear is great.. too bad when you make him your kids primary you never see him. read more

Patients Beware. I took my son there for an annual physical with no extras and the insurance paid. But the billing dept said they want more then the contracted insurance and threatened to turn it over to collections. This is called Balance Billing and is illegal in CA. They also hung up on me and the insurance company during a 3 way call to resolve it. Watch out, they have zero respect for the law. read more

The doctors and staff here are amazing, almost no wait time and when scheduling they are extremely flexible and depending on urgency they've always been able to get us in, in less than a week. I haven't been happier with a Dr office. Highly recommend them! read more

I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews - maybe I haven't "seen" the bad side. But each time I've taken my son multiple times and there was hardly ever a wait. Their waiting room was never full of people. The wait time to be seen is not long either. I usually book my appointments and I'm in and out within 35 minutes. I personally don't mind that it's not Dr. Jon Atiga each time, as long as it's someone certified to understand my son's symptoms and get me on my way with a prescription I don't see an issue. I also never feel rushed or that they're trying to push me out, they seem to be very attentive with my son, getting on his level and caring about his needs. So thank you staff for continuing your hard work and I appreciate it! read more

We absolutely love Dr. Atiga and Carrie King PA! My son's been going to this office for 13 years and now my 4 month old goes to this office too. Dr. Atiga is very personable and always has a ready smile for all his patients. Ever since he moved to his new office in Hancock it's been quite busy and wait times have been a bit longer but I don't mind because it's hard to find a doctor that so great with his patients. He answers his calls after hours and if he's busy he calls back right away. To help with the increase of patients he's added Marlene, a nurse practitioner to his practice. She's also quite nice and has great bedside manner. All his nurses & medical assistants have been awesome. Front office staff are efficient and handles referrals pretty quickly. read more

Get a real PA in there who can actually write a prescription. After waiting for 50 minutes to see the PA today, we find out that only pharmacy that will accept her prescription is the pharmacy next door. Tried to get the prescription filled but now that pharmacy won't accept her prescriptions either. Why can't the doctor write a prescription??? Oh, he is out of the country. So...you leave a person in charge who can't get medicine to the patients. Genius. We will never set foot in this ridiculous excuse for an office ever again. I would hope anyone reading this would avoid it also. read more

I am so frustrated with Dr. Atiga's office at this moment. My kids have been going there for over 11 years. Dr. Atiga referred both of my children for behavioral health services in August. It is now almost December and I have not been able to schedule these services when I called Dr. Atiga's office they tell me that they have sent the referral and when I call Rady's they tell me they don't have a referral. For the first time ever today, they told me I need to call my own insurance and find out where I can get these services. The referral specialist, Marisol, even told me that Rady's doesn't care that they are mismanaging referrals, and Dr. Atiga doesn't care that these referrals aren't getting through. On the advice of a friend I went to pick up the referrals today and they are incomplete according to Marisol and the phone conversation we had earlier today. However, no one would give me the rest of the materials and said that I had everything I need. Also of concern is that I was told I needed to sign a medical release to get these forms and they were ready to give them to me without signing a medical release or even checking my ID to make sure I was the person to receive the medical records of two minors. I feel stuck that I have to stay with this office in spite of it's incompetence to get the services that my kids need. read more

We have never actually seen Dr. Atiga, after having him as a primacy care physician for over 3 years. The front staff is generally unhelpful, confused, undereducated, and most of the time fairly rude...they seem to have similar qualities to Verizon Wireless customer service, except Verizon reps dont hang up on you. The interior looks like an inebriated uncle found some Disney sticks and random paint cans in the garage and started painting. All in all you may have better luck with voodoo than the medical advice (or lack thereof) that you will receive here. read more

I loved them at first because the wait time isn't too bad like at partners pedi. & the office is super nice. However, every damn visit they have 2 students and the nurse practitioner check my daughters heart (she has a heart murmur). The first go around my daughter is fine but scared because of having to go through that 3 times.. which is completely unnecessary. They dont even inform me before hand that the first person dropping in was just a student.. so I thought we were done with the visit and now it's time to go. NOPE. The nurse practitioner comes into the room eating with another student and tells me to lay my daughter down so the student cant listen. I explain to her that I really dont want my daughter to have to go through a 3rd check up because its stressing her out and she still needs vaccines.. The nurse practitioner ignored what I had to say and my concerns, responding with an ugly attitude telling me "well she needs to check her so" Last time I checked this was MY CHILD, and I have every right to deny not just one but TWO student check ups. I am paying the doctor to check her not some damn student. I will never be returning especially because they never can get my daughter in. It's always over a month to get an appointment. Did I mention that my daughter hasn't even been seen by a doctor once? Just the damn students and the rude nurse practitioner. read more

The front staff is nice enough. Everytime I have been there one lady is doing everything..phones, check in, and paperwork. We have been here 3 times and not once have we seen the actual Dr. Atiga. Very frustrating. The first time we thought the appt was with him. It ended up being with a PA and she didn't even introduce herself. The last time we saw a student from Loma Linda and she had to get the PA because she thought my baby had something completely different then what she actually had! They will claim you owe them money over a year later (after it was already settled due to a previous phone call and zero balance) and say Tricare requires you to pay a deductible when that is verifiably false. Over a whole year later! With no other contact! How bills after over a year! What a scam. After seeing how many recommendations there are for Atiga, I can't imagine why. Today was our first appointment with him. He was only in the room for ten minutes, and basically said my son has autism. First off I'm no doctor, but I would think assuming someone is autistic would take more that 10 min. With only two minutes of actual interaction, he only checked his heart beat, and teeth. I wouldn't recommend going here, unless you want to leave the office in tears and with fear. The icing on the cakes was what he said. He said that if he was autistic he wouldn't be " normal." Save your time and find elsewhere to go. My son is only 15 months, and this pediatrician thinks with 10 minutes in the room and no interaction he can assume my son has autism. read more

If you have teen daughters ask to book an appointment with Carrie. She is great with them! I am a pediatric nurse and there is no other pediatrician team I would trust with my girls! read more

You will never see a medical doctor at this office, nor can you schedule with one. The Nurse practitioners and students are inexperienced and suggest therapies such as spoonful one without the proper research to support it. They made my child very ill by suggesting this product when my child has severe allergies. The allergy specialist had never heard of this product. My last visit at the clinic, the staff informed me my child was incorrectly scheduled and would not be measured or given immunizations because she was only scheduled a follow up. Now, they will not even have a provider call me to discuss the issue. Absolutely terrible care. Sorry I subjected my child to this provider. read more
