Noise wasn't an issue but it looked like a homeless camp on the sidewalk. Old food boxes brought flies. Only other complaint was the ice machine, door was half open and it's outside. It has so much potential, but it attracts a questionable crowd. PROS: The room we stayed in was clean, spacious, and seemed to have been renovated somewhat recently. There are 2 nice outdoor spaces to hang out and enjoy the evening, a deck and a covered sitting area. CONS: Loud cars drove thru the parking a lot a few times overnite. Several guests seem to live at this motel. One couple seemed fine, but a couple of other folks just looked *sketchy.* When we left at 7:30 on a Sat. morning, a sheriff's car and a city police car were parked outside. One officer kept banging on the door of a guest room, calling the person by name and telling them to open the door, which they weren't doing. Another was standing in front of the office door ringing the doorbell repeatedly, because no one was there and didn't respond. We said good morning, and he said, "I wouldn't stay here again if I were you." It definitely sounded like this was not an unusual event at this hotel, which matched our impressions about some of the long-term guests.

I found this place as I googled for B&B near where I was going to sky dive. They had a few sleeping options but we opted for the cottage a 1 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 comfortably has a wooden patio with seating, AC, a cable TV, bathroom & mini fridge & micro. Clayton, the owner, gave me tour & as I walked the farm I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with the smells & it wasn't manure!! The roses, herbs & other flowers, amazing how many times I stopped to; "literally smell the roses". As I toured what stood out was the meditation labyrinth, the drum circle room, the party barn & the tree houses. These folks have thought of everything! Have kids? Well they will love the animals, treehouses & swings. Love nature? You'll love the vegetable garden, flowers & thoughtful sitting areas. Are you a hippy? Then you'll love the meditation labyrinth, drum room or fire pit. Maybe your a big family or want to have an event? They have an awesome room they call the party barn with pool table, shuffle board, full bar, kitchen & thoughtful decor. Enough of my stereotyping but you get the point, they have a variety of activities to suit almost anyone. We were planning to go to the nearby state park but after settling in & seeing what the farm had to offer- we didn't need to move. Probably more amazing then the surroundings & thoughtful activities are the owners themselves. Marsha is a talented artist & Clayton a sort of renaissance man himself were very welcoming. We struck conversations right away & within a hour or two were invited to join them & another couple staying on the farm for dinner. It's so refreshing to get to know humans that reach out to others, people that don't make you feel like strangers. If you are close or even if your not & desire a retreat from the norm both scenically & socially, try Waits farm retreat. I think you'll be happy you gave it a try.

This place was so unbelievably peaceful and serene and the owners Clayton and Marsha were absolutely amazing and now have become part of our little family! They were very welcoming and it didn't take long for us to invite them to hang out and spend time with us. Two of the best people I've met, the grounds were beautiful, the cottage was adorable, just what I needed to relax and get my mind off my hectic city life. We all have decided to now make this a yearly trip and we can't wait to go back! Thanks again Clayton and Marsha for sharing your home and life with 6 dysfunctional strangers....Love ya!!!! P.S. get them to make you a real homecooked breakfast, totally worth the extra money!!!!!

Nothing fancy, just a good old fashioned burger cooked on an old/seasoned flattop grill. All of the prices are super great!!! You can't go wrong at this place. Cold beer and sodas...and some snack food too! The dance floor is nice and big in the center of the hall. Lots of tables and chairs around the dance floor. The chairs aren't super comfortable, but we were dancing most of the time so it didn't bother me. We attended a wedding in August and it was pretty hot outside because as a guest, you have to stay seated for a bit for the whole ceremony, but that is a seasonal thing. There was an outdoor patio appetizer set up area to mingle for a little bit, and then we moved indoors to be seated for dinner and the reception I thought the venue was perfect. The only big tip that I would have liked to have received before attending was to try to come with an SUV or four-wheel-drive because the incline to get up to the location is pretty steep!! It was a little scary and I wouldn't have liked to have been the one driving.

They even noticed I paid a vendor for something they supplied and was able to reimburse me some money, which was much appreciated! Anna, our day of coordinator provided by Red Ridge, was absolutely fantastic. She was handling things I wouldn't have even thought of. She was kind and team-bride all the way. She was absolutely incredible and I cannot say enough good things about her. Everyone in the wedding party noticed how attentive and helpful she was. The venue itself is in a stunning location. The photos from the evening are just amazing against the beautiful backdrop. Everything was just beautiful, especially because we picked the all-inclusive package which really helped cut down on the extra things I needed to plan as a bride. All of their details were handled with easy to access and manage online forms. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to a very disappointing experience with the DJ provided by the venue. I am trying hard not to fault the venue for this, but it really was pretty heartbreaking for me as the bride. The DJ, a young man who had been with the company several years I was told, played the wrong song as I walked down the aisle. Instead of playing the instrumental version of one of me and my husband 's favorite songs, the DJ played our aisle exit song as I walked down the aisle. The song had words and was upbeat. Although a meaningful song to us as a couple, it was just not the bridal moment I had always dreamt about. It the moment, I just went with it because I didn't want to stop and go back, I just wan't sure what to do, but I really can't stop thinking about how that moment of walking down the aisle that I'e always dreamt of was taken from me by a DJ just not paying enough attention. To make matters just a bit worse, he then played that same song as we exited the ceremony space. I had a few guests mention to me how it was as "interesting choice in ceremony music" and I just had to explain that there had been a mistake. I felt really embarrassed and disappointed. In addition, even though I had hand selected the songs to play at the reception, the DJ somehow loaded up the wrong playlist and the first 4 or 5 songs weren;t ones I had picked. Oldies were played, which was fine I guess ... just not our kind of music. After alerting Anna to the fact that this was not our music the problem was rectified. After reaching out to Chris and Bethany about my frustration and sadness over this issue they were very apologetic and let me know that that DJ would no longer be working for their company. I feel a sense of relief for upcoming brides that will not have to feel the disappointment of having that one special moment ruined, but I also feel a sense of guilt for having that employee lose their position.

This is one of the cutest boutique hotels I have been to in a long time. Lone Star Court is located…read morein the domain directly across from shopping, dining, and entertainment. The property reminds me of something that you would see in a movie somewhere in the southwest where people are just trying to hide out and not be found. It has such a cute rustic feel, with a lot of Texas flair. From the minute you arrive, you are given great service, greeted with amazing sense of essential oil, oils and leather with their signature fragrance in the form of a candle or room spray. For just $30 we were able to check in early at 1 o'clock instead of three which was great since I drove in town and had a lunch reservation, this gave us time to get unpacked and rest for a minute before heading over to the restaurant. They have lots of options in the mini bar, whether you are wanting an adult drink or just something cold and fizzy. When we arrived, they did give us a complementary bottle of water as well as a cold beer that I sat out on our little porch and enjoyed as the rain started to come down. I love all of the detail put into these rooms, it is such an amazing property, but I'll be honest there were way more kids than I expected, but it was Easter weekend so I guess a lot of families were traveling. I really wanted to get into the pool, but it was massively crowded. They have an outdoor bar as well as a café on the property that has live music and an enormous fireplace and plenty of big screen TVs to watch sports. Every evening they light up the fire pits and if you want to make s'mores, you can purchase a s'mores kit for just $10. They do not allow smoking in the rooms but allow you to smoke on the little patio outside your door. This has definitely become one of my favorite places to stay in Austin, which is difficult because there are so many amazing places in Austin, but Lone Star has definitely stepped into my top five. The young man that checked us in was great and he comped our valet parking! Truly phenomenal service. I'm looking forward to coming back!

The hotel has a beautiful setup , with all room doors facing the common area, and balconies on the second floor. The common area also had a swimming pool, a shaded pavilion for guests to hang out, a gift shop by the lobby and music nights on the weekend. They also set up a fire pit for guests to have marshmallow s'mores night. Despite arriving late Friday night, our check-in was done super quick by the friendly staff. They gave us complimentary water bottles too. The room had a motel-like setup, with a concrete floor (no carpet), an older-style fridge and a ceiling fan. I wasn't fond of the bed, the frame squeaked a lot and the mattress was soft. Overall a good family-friendly hotel with very great staff. There were lots to do around the hotel and downtown Austin, that was only 15 minutes away.
