Mere's Reserve Event Venue - party at night!

Mere's Reserve Event Venue

I reserved the Mere's Reserve for our 2019 Family Reunion this past weekend and I don't post many…read morereviews except when the service blows me away. From start to finish Laura the Facilities Director was AMAZING. She worked with my hectic schedule to ensure I could come out to see the full facility. Whenever I texted or called leading up to the event she responded or answered within seconds. She even kept my mom happy and my mom is a VERY DETAILED person and Laura was flexible and very accommodating. The day of the even Laura and her team provided CLASS "A" service all day long. They went the full night with us celebrating our family heritage/roots! If you are looking for an event center that will meet your every need from the restrooms, private rooms, dance floor, stage, outdoor space, kitchen, bar, and the best staff on this side of Texas look no further as Mere's Reserve is your place. THANKS LAURA, ELIANA, & TEAM!

As event planner, I give this venue a negative zero…read more My client had her wedding here 8/12. No AC is the bridal/groom suites Outlets in Kitchen and main hall do not work Refrigerator doesn't work Ice Machine doesn't work Kids working and they have no clue what they are supposed to do Bathrooms don't get restocked or tended to Toilets don't flush Owners do not to a walk thru prior to the events to see what is working so the client can plan accordingly. The client literally finds out the day of and has to plan last minute on how to get ice, etc Owners will straight out lie and get caught in their lies and still make excuses Their coordinator never showed up so they sent young kids who didn't even know what a breaker box was when the power went out The owners never showed up themselves. Conveniently he was out of town. They charge close to $7000 for one day. Yet, they can't maintain their facility correctly. The pictures you see online are the hard work of the decorators the client pays for to make this shell of a crappy building look good. Their clientele is a Mexicanos who are scared to complain or do not know their rights as a consumer. Stay away from this place!!

There is a cornucopia of activities and events that carter to everyone in the family: Pumpkin picking 5- acre corn maze Live music on the weekends Farm animals Hay rides Lassoing Archery Apple cannons Face painting Fishing Giant slides Human foosball Carnival type games Cornhole Cabana rentals Concessions Large running areas for kids Huge treehouse Alcohol for purchase Flower fields Giant sandbox MANY photo opportunities Infant changing tables It's beautiful and full of so much fun for the family! You can buy pumpkins and pick your own flowers for a take home bouquet. Food - eh; they pretty much only have pizza or chicken nuggets at different stations. Pretty basic, not much to speak to on that. Both are about $10. I was a bit disappointed on the choices. Esp for fall it would have been great to have pumpkin pie, apple cider, sweet potato, etc like fall items. That would have been cool. Drinks - generous pour for iced tea. I had the frozen sangria snd it was really good snd not too sweet! I did get some brain freezes (yup more than once). My faves- the farm animals, apple cannon ($) but worth it, hayride, corn maze was fun! When you think about everything that is included it seems worth the price. The white pumpkins were kinda pricey since they are special at $12. They have a gorgeous field of flowers that you can pick and cut your own flowers. Lots of photo op moments. Really really great for kids. So many slides, a treehouse playground, a bouncy ground, etc. I'd recommend going. Esp if you have kids.

Angel Mountain Events - Sunsets are amazing from our patio

Angel Mountain was perfect, and Linda is absolutely AMAZING!!! I cannot say enough good things…read moreabout either. The venue is gorgeous, needs very little decorating. Linda sold herself from our very first meeting. Angel was the first venue we toured, we went to two others after, but neither could compare to Angels beauty or Lindas charisma. She was there every step of the way to answer any questions I had or offer up suggestions when I was stumped. With her as my day of coordinator, I knew I didn't have to worry about anything. With her help, my wedding was perfect! (I don't have pictures back from my photographer just yet, these are off phones)

The reception area is big and open as well. My favorite part of the entire place though is the back patio which has lots of room for guests to relax and chat away from noise. Not to mention the stunning sunset view that you get from the back patio. On top of the venue being so beautiful itself, the owner (Linda) was great to work with. She was so helpful preparing for our wedding, and coordinating on the day of the event. Both of us have never been married before, and Linda was awesome to ask advice or bounce ideas off of. She knew what she was doing 100%, and our day wouldn't have been as great as it was without her. I would highly recommend Angel Mountain Events to anyone getting married!!!

Pine Forest Golf Club - Tee box on 11

A group of friends and I booked a round here due to a deal posted on another website (come to find…read moreout you can get similar deals direct from the club, which helps if you need to negotiate rain checks). When the day came around, it ended up being a cold rainy day. We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating staff. Weather conditions proceeded to deteriorate throughout the round, but I don't get a chance to get out with the guys much anymore, so we pushed through it. We ended up being the only group out on the course, but had a fabulous time. Can't wait to go back when the weather is better. Fairways are pretty tight on a lot of holes. 3-woods are probably a good idea for most. The changes in elevation create some very beautiful holes, however be very careful if the cart paths are wet...we had a couple of fishtail incidents that could have resulted in something more serious. Maybe they could put something down on the paths to improve traction on these holes? Overall, for the price charged, I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a solid round of golf.

I see that Yelp is claiming this course is closed it is not. I played $45 per person to play this…read morecourse on MLK day. I do not give out low ratings lightly. I have wondered if two stars is too high. The staff was extremely friendly so that is the only reason I am giving it two. The course should be shut down. I get it is January and the grass would be dormient. That does not explain the "moon scape" of the fairways. Huge potholes everywhere. The tee boxes are so hard you can't get tees in them. Then there are the tee boxes that have backhoe damage on them. Why is a backhoe on a tee box? Then the greens are a joke. The sand traps have rocks in them. If I had paid $15 maybe it would be ok. That is a huge maybe. My husband and I play golf a lot all over the world. This is the worst course conditions we have ever had. It may have been better not to play golf? We looked on line and saw they had some tee times the day of so that is why we went. The price on line was $38. We drove there and to book there on sight was $45. The day wasn't great as well as the pace of play was so so so slow. We had a four some of ladies playing best ball. Two of the four couldn't hit the ball more than four feet or swang and miss. I am all for newbies. Especially ladies. However, you got to be smart about it. It wouldn't have been difficult to let us play through either as we were usually at the tee box with them. Thankfully, they stopped at the turn and only played nine and that is when we found out it really didn't matter because they had a foursome in front of them that was drunk and as bad at golf as the ladies with mouths of sailors. We got so fed-up we drove through on hole 13. I don't know if I have seen people so drunk on a golf course in a while. I do blame the lady at the front. It was clear she knew them. We were a twosome. We knew it was going to be slow, but we could have also gone off before them. When we drove through the last foursome, we didn't have anyone in front of us the rest of the round no matter how fast we went. We play fast. Additionally, on the front nine we had the two some behind us drive into us three times. It is so unacceptable. We were stuck between a slow foursome and a fast twosome. The last time he hit into us I drove back to him and said please go in front of us and see what we are dealing with. I wish I could say it was one guy. We got hit into again on the back nine by another player. Unreal! It sort of speaks to the type of players on this course. Newbies, that drink while they play and don't get the unspoken rules of golf. Do note there is no attire restrictions on this course. Overall, a bad day on a golf course is a better than a day at work but this wasn't really golf. This was hitting a white ball in the hill country. Save your money and time and go elsewhere. We had played here before, so we know it wasn't this bad the last time we played here. Hard to say is it going down or is it on its way up. Along the river you can see they are doing some work, but we will not be back. Not for the condition of the course.
