Took some customers here on Business trip. I have to save it was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Flew into Monterey, felt like stepping off a private jet onto the tarmac, this is how the 1% lives. We golfed at Pebble Beach (bucket list) one day and Spyglass the second day (another bucket list item). The golf was picture perfect, the 18th hole on Pebble right along the ocean, drives to remember for a lifetime. Both courses were beautiful and everything was first class all the way. You are assigned a caddy, just like the pros, really fun. I think these guys make more than doctors, big dollars fall into their hands, but they make it enjoyable and fun. This is the kind of trip you dream about and it did not disappoint. The restaurants were 5 stars, ribeyes/steaks and seafood every night, even the breakfast spot we went to in the morning was amazing, cinnamon rolls the size of dinner plates. The Hotel had a gym that was better than many gyms you pay a membership for, new, huge, great equipment, great views. A spa with a steam room, locker room and showers, wood lockers, old money style, Just the way you picture it when living it up. Every dream sports car/luxury car parked in front of the hotel. My four stars is not anything to do with the experience, I would not trade it for the World and am very, very grateful for the opportunity to experience it. The golf, the hotel, the service, the restaurants, etc. first class all the way. Where I struggle a bit is just the excess here and the expense of a trip like this, I would have never spent this kind of money if it was not connected to building a Business relationship. We are on a birthday road trip and managed to get on one afternoon to play Pebble Beach. Complete bucket list for me, my husband has played it one time before. Short Review: There is a reason this is rated the #1 golf course in America. It is truly an experience, and I highly recommend you doing it at least once. Long Review: So, playing Pebble Beach was always just a dream of mine. I never really thought I'd have the chance to do it, nor was it really on a "must do" bucket list. However, I won a live auction item at a charity event for 4 days / 3 nights at a Pebble Beach resort hotel and after waiting a year to redeem it (again, I was in no rush to play or visit Pebble), we went for the week between Christmas and New Years. All I can say is... WOW! Every hole on this course has breathtaking views of the ocean, and on many you are overlooking the cliff with waves crashing against it. The sounds of the ocean while you golf actually help you drown out all other noises and concentrate better. Now, just to be clear, this is not an easy course. It's on the Pro-Am and PGA stops which says something, but the challenge is amazing and something you should at least experience on e in your lifetime. We stayed at Casa Palmero on the property. Can you say "Bold & Bougie"? Cause I can and will! LOVED being treated like the Queen I am while there! I should have a separate review on that place that you can read, but if you're gonna play Pebble Beach might as well make the place you stay just as eloquent! read more

Sun and fun! What could be wrong with that? Pebble Beach is a world class golf course. It's an expensive place to place but it's on most golfers bucket list. You're required to stay at the hotel for two nights but you may get lucky if you drop in and find a cancellation the day off. It's a long shot but why not try It. We attend the AT&T ProAm every year and it's a nice place to relax and watch some pros play with some famous stars. I suggest going to at least one tournament there at least once. read more

Everyone says this is one of the best courses in the country if not the world and it truly is. Unfortunately the summer months can bring some unpredictable weather that can make the round much more difficult. In all honesty, I have never played the course (it is on my bucket list) but I have walked in at least 10 times as a volunteer for various professional golf tournaments including the US Women's Open 2023. Here is what I have to say about the course as a player with a significant number of years playing the game and watching the professionals navigate it. If the weather was really nice, scoring can be quite good, however with a 10-15 mph wind, some fog drizzle and colder temps, the course can be a challenge to score well. The front nine seems to be there easier nine holes than the back nine. The 6, 7 and 8 holes are aptly named the Amen Corner of the west coast by some golf publications. I feel the 8 and 9 holes to be the most treacherous holes with incredible seaside cliffs bordering the right side of the fairways. One of the biggest challenges is learning how to play the small greens on the course. Accuracy is a premium. I stood on the 7th hole taking measurements of each shot the player made and even after the wind died down and the sun came out, it was still a difficult 93 yard hole. But the few is definitely worth parking one's rear end down on the grass and just watching the waves crash against the shoreline. Even the sea lions just laid on the rocks enjoying a nice snooze. read more

A bucket list course and definitely worth the experience. Our caddie, Denzel, was amazing. I highly recommend a caddie. Denzel was great at walking us through putts and chips. Unfortunately the fog rolled in right when we were teeing off, so Denzel directed us on each hole and knew exactly where our balls were landing. He was such a professional and made our experience that much more special. I played horribly. I was nervous. I was the only women in our foursome and the fog made it a wet, chilly day. We missed all the ocean views on the front nine. The fog lifted a bit for 17 and 18. We had a 'guaranteed finish' tee time of 3pm. Nearly 6 hours later we were done and it was getting pretty dark. They shine lights on the 18th green but the folks after us had to have had a very hard time seeing their balls. The staff was wonderful. It really is an experience, not just another expensive round of golf. We stayed at Spanish Bay so we were able to reserve our tee time. It was my husband's bucket list item but I enjoyed it just as much. read more

If you never been to Pebble Beach Golf Links Community, then I suggest you drive up to the gate, pay the $11.25 and take the 17-mile drive around the community and some of the most beautiful shoreline of California. To your delight you will have the opportunity to stop at each of the check points along the drive with beaches that offer views of sea lions, deer, aquatic birds, and during the right season; whales! In addition, you will see surf and waves that will astound you. The drive is well worth the expense, with roads that are lined with fabulous houses, tall trees, and the smell of pine. At the end of the drive you can stop at the Pebble Beach Golf Course for food, beverages, photo opportunities, and souvenirs. Marshal Mark was rude, condescending and lacks any taste required to work at such a prestigeous golf course. Mark harassed our group the entire front 9 for pace of play which we played under 2 hours. When confronted, Marshall Mark had no replay and was arrogant, disrespectful and oblivious to the groups currently playing in front and behind our group.. Mark does not deserve to work at this stellate establishment. Other employee experiences were amazing and I love Pebble Beach Golf. read more

What a beautiful, wide, peaceful area. My team and I were here to work the PGA event for 4 days 2020. So grateful to have such a beautiful view every single day working there, and a great experience. A great place to not only play golf, but also to hike. During my time there, I did see a lot of people do that. There were definitely times when it got really cold, so when coming here, definitely have a heavy sweater or jacket. Be careful your hat might blow away. Stunning golf course, 1 of the most watched/photographed course in the world! I was blessed to be here a dozen of times, and this last month was for the US PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2020. It's such a gorgeous place with mesmerizing views in every hole. My favorite was hole 5-7 and then 11-13 views! The course is always pristine. The sunrise and sunset views alone, worth everything! Spectators can watch their favorite players thru the above lounge or can follow them around. Love their staffs, pick you up in the golf carts to drop you off places. Limited food options here during the tournament, unfortunately. The food course doesn't open till 11 AM on the first tournament day! So you better get breakfast at your hotel before arrive to the course! Limited food option, no vegan option on this year tournament! You got hotdog, burger, chicken & rice, etc. they didn't allow my friend to get just rice/salad. Really odd at a 5 stars course, and they are NOT flexible. Visit plenty of sponsor lounges for freebies too! We did enjoyed the help of over 2,000 volunteers for the event. They were very helpful. read more

This course is rated the #1 public golf course in the USA! It is definitely a bucket list for all levels of golfers. It is a steep $575 per person. You're guaranteed a tee time if you book a minimum 3 night stay at any of their hotel properties. The only perk you get aside from that is golf carts are included. The golf carts are only allowed on the cart paths, so I saw a lot of people walking. I definitely recommend getting a caddie for your round, which is $95. My caddie Lincoln was amazing! YOU GUYS. Being that I have a full blown love affair with golf now (who would have thought!), Pebble Beach Golf Club was essential to visit on our way through Monterey to Carmel-by-the-Sea. My friend surprised us with a visit to the Pro Shop to which I totally geeked out. ++ Conveniently located at the 1st tee of Links at Spanish Bay, the Pro Shop allows for insanely awesome views of the ocean. A gorgeous patio is directly off the checkout counter, showcasing the most gorgeous landscape! ++ The Pro Shop is stocked with a variety of golf apparel, ranging in brand and price for both men and women. From golf shoes, outfits, hats and other, it's the perfect place to pick up a gift or a souvenir for simply visiting! ++ I opted to buy 2 hats (one for me and one for dad), along with a single stamped ball to bring home and was surprised at how reasonable each item was priced. Hats were $30, while the ball was a mere $6. ++ A round of golf, featuring 18 holes and a cart is a whopping $290/person, but what's better than saying you golfed where Tiger does? ++ The main restaurant is located to the left of the Pro Shop, which features a killer lineup of food and drink options along with an outstanding view. Although we didn't eat, we stopped in just to check it out. ++ It's quite the hot spot for celebrities and sports players alike - we even spotted a few! No Tiger though :/   I can't even imagine playing here, but would easily return for another go at the Pro Shop and those killer views! read more

Pebble Beach Golf Links, like the Old Course in St. Andrews (https://www.yelp.com/biz/st-andrews-links-st-andrews), is at the top of most golfers' bucket lists. My dad and I had a really fun, magical round here. It's one I'll never forget and cherish for a lifetime. We made a family vacation out of it -- Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, etc. Playing golf at Pebble Beach though, that was the highlight of the trip for me. I'll be honest. As soon as we hit the 1st fairway, I was a little underwhelmed by the course conditions. Don't get me wrong. The course was awesome. Its natural beauty, sitting atop the cliffs of the Pacific Coast, can't be denied. At times, the setting felt surreal, especially if you're a golf nut like me. The course is soaked in history. But for a five-star course (and this is definitely a five-star course) that is highly renowned and considered to be one of the absolute best in the world, I expected better. I was surprised to realize the course we played at home, Old North State Club in North Carolina, had greener and lusher fairways and rough compared to Pebble Beach. Then again, Pebble Beach is a public course which endures tens of thousands of rounds a year (extremely high volume), so it's understandable. I wrongly expected near-Augusta-like conditions. This is just a really, really nice public course (and really expensive too). In order to play at Pebble, we had to stay one night on the property. We stayed at The Lodge at Pebble Beach: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-lodge-at-pebble-beach-pebble-beach. We also booked a round at Spyglass Hill (https://www.yelp.com/biz/spyglass-hill-golf-course-pebble-beach). I can't remember if booking that second round was a requirement, but it probably was. Spyglass was way more difficult than Pebble. Our room at The Lodge was super nice (there was a private outdoor hot tub built into the stone-tiled ground) and the resort overall was magnificent. We got a great family photo outside. We played in early August with afternoon tee times. The weather cooperated. It was sunny for both our rounds at Pebble and Spyglass. It was slightly windy, but otherwise ideal. My dad and I both wore pants with short-sleeve shirts. In hindsight, I probably should've worn shorts. The twosome we were paired up with wore shorts. Our round didn't start getting chilly until the back nine. That's when I put on my black Pebble Beach windbreaker which I had just purchased in the golf shop before our round. We played from the white tees and I shot a 98. From the whites, Pebble measures 6,116 yards with a 71.3 rating and 132 slope -- above average difficulty. From the tips (blues): 6,828 yards, 74.7/143. My dad and I brought our own sets of clubs from the East Coast and we rode in a cart. The twosome we were paired up with decided to walk with caddies. The caddies ended up helping us out sometimes, even though we didn't ask them to (I wanted them to focus on helping the guys who hired them). If they happened to know where our balls landed and were in the vicinity, they'd try and help us find them. They also gave us tips off the tee and on the greens. We really appreciated it and ended up tipping them after the round. The same thing happened during our round at Spyglass. Also in hindsight, we probably should have hired caddies. They would have helped us and made our rounds more enjoyable (not that they weren't enjoyable to begin with!). The 18th hole was cool because my mom and sister came down to meet us and take pictures. The families of our playing partners met up with them at the 18th green too. It was a really neat atmosphere having everyone there to watch us finish our round on such a historic course. Both my dad and I picked up Pebble Beach hats and pullovers in the golf shop. We got complimentary bag tags which are, to date, the nicest bag tags I've ever gotten from a course. They are high quality decorative medallions embossed with the Pebble Beach 1919 Lone Cypress logo. It's become a permanent fixture on my bag. At the time of writing this review, you're looking at spending at least about $900-1,000 for one night's stay at the resort either at The Lodge, Casa Palmero (next door), or The Inn at Spanish Bay (10-15 minutes away). Then you're looking at $550 per golfer to play Pebble. Caddies are $95 per bag (one caddie can carry two bags) and forecaddies are $47.50 per golfer with a three-golfer minimum. It ain't cheap, but it's also Pebble Beach, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If all goes well, I'd like to come back and bring my son or daughter to play here, just like my dad did with me. This is an exclusive golf course, but unlike Augusta National, you can open your wallet (and dig deep) to play at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. In my opinion, it is worth every penny. Non-members/non-resort guests can reserve a tee time up to 24 hours in advance. My Oct. 19, 2019, 2:20 pm tee time reservation was made through the concierge at hotel where I was staying, the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. This course is truly a gem with magnificent views at every turn and every hole. You become awe struck after every shot! Beware, this course is cart path only. My disappointment was the result of ineffective course management by the Pebble Beach's staff. Despite being promised by the starter and rangers that their course management policies will keep the pace of play moving, it did everything but. Play was consistently slow with extensive wait times on just about every hole starting at #5. To make things worse, it appeared that players in the group in front of ours were receiving lessons and had no business playing a round golf on a busy Saturday afternoon. While course staff did warn me through my concierge that there is no guaranty I would finish play before dark, our group started on a pace that would have permitted us to finish. Needless to say, myself and the other three players in my group were disappointed that the course would permit golfers receiving lessons to play in front of our group while at the same time charging us the full rate. Out of the four courses we ended up playing, this one really lived up to the hype and expectation I had on it. First of all, Eddy who was our caddie was amazing. He has worked there for about thirty years, and with his expertise advise it really showed. The course was in an amazing shape, once it dries out the fairways are firm, the greens are soft but yet the balls can roll off on long irons shots. Really don't need to explain about the course as most of us already know the history. If there is no fog, bring out your phone and take some pictures. Not allowed to drive carts on grass, you are better off walking or you will get frustrated of walking back and forth to the cart. It is extremely difficult for anyone in their later years, they should be allowed to ride carts on the grass to a certain point. With California over reacting on the covid crap, you are not allowed to have a group photo! Even though you are staying in the same rooms with each other!! Any who, this was an amazing experience and if you even have a thought about going, I highly recommend you following through. read more

The NCGA was offering a pretty good deal to play Pebble & Spyglass so a few buddies and I decided to take advantage of the situation. We lucked out with the weather, spirits were high and naturally the course was in excellent shape because no one has been playing it the past couple months. The limited staff was as friendly as ever and did their best to make sure everyone was safe and happy. Due to COVID, it was definitely different experience than my first time around, kind of a "no frills" round but I'm NOT complaining. Horrible, terrible, over-rated. Maybe that will keep a few people away :). Looking my ball buried in tall grass between the cliff to the beach and the green on hole #10, I thought 2 things. 1. If not for the grass, my ball would have gone down the cliff to the rocky beach below, and 2. how the hell was I going to hit out of this stuff. The caddy looked down and said "Mr H. you have two choices. You can pick up your ball, take a stroke penalty, and drop in onto the short grass no closer to the pin. Or you can take your sand wedge, take a full swing at the ball, and THEN pick it up and take your penalty when you realize the ball is not moving from there." Hell, I'm at Pebble. What would Arnie do? I took the swing, the ball moved 4 inches (maybe). Then I took the Caddy's advice and the stroke penalty, smiling the whole time. That's the Pebble experience. This is a golf course that any true golfer should play at least once. The others being St Andrews Old Course and TPC Sawgrass (IMHO). It is one of the best and one of the most beautiful courses in the US. Plus there is so much history here. Especially with the Crosby (now AT&T) being played here all these years. The layout is great, the way a golf course is meant to be. No gimmicks such as silly tee boxes 200 ft higher than the green, vineyards running through the course, etc. I have played here a couple of times. One more piece of advice - get a caddie, well worth the money and the experience. Let's face it, if you are shelling out $475 to play there (it was $375 the last time I played), you might as well go whole hog. Get the caddie, he will cut several strokes off your score, carry your bag for you, and even tell a few stories. It's not the longest course around. It's not the toughest. It doesn't have the most holes on the ocean. It's just simply the best. You can't know it until you are there - sort of like Yelpitude. I have also seen several tournaments there - AT&T a couple of times, and a couple of US Opens. Great place to walk and watch. Sit by the 8th green and watch the pros try to hit the small green from the top of the facing bluff with a 20 mph wind - it's a cross wind, now the wind is at their back, oops it is a cross wind again. Play an impromptu "skins" game with they person next to you. Pick who will hit the green and if no-one hits it, carry it over to the next group. You might win $75. Not that I did, because gambling is illegal. I debated over giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Why? - $475 per round - give me a break - and that's if you can even get on But in the end, the awe of Pebble won me over and I gave it the full 5 stars. This course is high on the bucket lists of golfers everywhere. In June and parts of July because of COVID, you were allowed to book a tee-time in advance without staying at one of their 3 lodges. I played this course with my dad as a Father's Day gift, we had a cart, and hired a caddie. It was a spectacular experience. By far the most memorable and enjoyable round of golf I have ever played. I played yesterday, and today I keep reminiscing about each hole and how magical it felt to play this historic, lush, gorgeous course, with breathtaking vistas and scenic green ambiance. If you're considering playing this course you should make up your mind and just do it. It will be one of the highlights of your golfing life. I'm still reeling, it was so much fun. read more

Lucky to have played here twice this year. The guys took me here for my birthday and the experience was as awesome as anticipated so I had to bring our daughters here so that they could experience it too. Daughters (junior tournament golfers) loved the experience - of course it didn't hurt that they both started off with birdie on the first hole and shot 73 and 80 from the men's back tees. Staff was extremely friendly and made me and our out of town guest feel very welcomed even though we were bogey golfers with wonky swings :o) The highlights of course are holes 6, 7, 8, and 18 but there are great ocean views from most of the holes. Looking forward to the US Open here next year - always interesting to see the pros play it after having played it ourselves. If PB is on your bucket list (and it should be on everyone's list...), then just do it - you will not regret it! read more

Our caddy FInn was just super awesome! Very nice and helpful not to just us but to the other people we were grouped with. he has good humor as he thought he lost my bf's putter head cover (which he did drop but thats not his fault, it happens) but in fact we caught it, picked it up and played along as if he did lose it and finally we just showed it to him so he wouldnt stress out too much and we all had a good laugh out of it and he was a good sport about it The greens are "very" fast and maybe its cause we played the course right as it was prepped for the champions tour tournament that they're having there the week after ... The houses are super good looking. I think i fell in love with a few 12 million dollar homes. It's super hard finding this course. Since all of the courses are like in one area. The female bathroom was small. The restroom on the course looked a little on the old and run down. which for a course of this caliber and cost I have higher expectations for it. One hundred dollar plus courses should have way better amenities and appear to be in better shape. but amenities aside ... THIS COURSE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL to me and in the words of my boyfriend as well ... along with the history behind the place, a golf experience doesnt get much better then this, my bf never gets nervous standing on the tee box but at the beginning, even he admit he couldnt control the nerves ... for anyone who plays here, dont rush, anyone that plays this course is taking their sweet time as well with pictures and just taking in the breath taking views ... if you come and play, simply relax, take your time and enjoy and know the fact that you're one of the not many who gets to play this magnificent course ! read more

Yep boys and girls, it's definitely a five! Can I give it six stars? I waited a couple of days after my round and afterglow to give a quick review of the experience. It all starts at the bag drop, drop it the kids there smiling and greeting you and wishing you a great day. The fellas at the golf shop for check in we're very pleasant and although I know they had a script, I know I felt good after they asked me how I was doing and how I picked a perfect day for a golf outing. Naturally I had to visit the gift shop and drop $200 there but felt good doing it. Got my bucket list cap and now I'm ready for golf. But first, take the shuttle up to the golf Academy and work your shots out. The golf Academy was great and will give you Time to work on putting, chipping and lobs, and of course your full shot. Lessons are also available. Back in the shuttle and down to the course. I had 45 minutes before my tee time so I visited the Stillwater lounge for a bite to eat and it was fabulous. Can't remember the name of the breakfast sandwich I got but it had gravy on it and that made me happy. Really though, as you can see in the Picture, there was an impressive view of the 18th green so you can reflect on all the great tournaments that ended on this hole. Sadly, my old iPhone 6 ran out of battery on the third hole! So my only criticism of this course was that the carts are average and didn't have USB plugs. Yes, they could use an upgrade. As for the holes I'm not gonna go over that because we've seen these holes on TV many times. But I will say is the greens are really small! As far as course maintenance, they are setting up the grandstands for the big tournament and their work guys on the green literally with tweezers! I parred the last three holes and that's what I will remember. Kudos for making it an excellent experience. read more

A bucket list experience to say the least. I was afforded the opportunity to experience Pebble Beach when the organization donated several rounds to my employer (hospital) as a thank you to Healthcare workers during the covid pandemic. I was incredibly excited before the round and it certainly lived up to my hopes and dreams. Even on an overcast day the grounds were still beautiful, and the staff incredibly gracious. They made us (Healthcare workers) feel right at home throughout the day, and were even kind enough to provide us a meal. Can't say enough good things about them, thank you so much for making a dream of mine come true! read more

I often imagined if I would ever get to play pebble beach!!i mean $495 for one round of golf!! Come on now..but let me tell you!! The golf gods made this place with love, lol..it's the perfect place for windy, challenging, picture perfect golf course. My life is complete after this!! The magic that is in the air!! Gives you chills. Every hole, has something special about it!! I know understand why Jack Loves this place so much. The history of champions, the clubhouse, tap room, caddies , starters, golf range!! "Bucket List" Second time to play Pebble. My rating is based on golf course and views only due to the fact I was part of a large corporate group on both occasions. Simply breathtaking views of the ocean and signature holes. Of course #7 par 3 was special and I'm reminded of it every time I walk into a prospect or clients office where they have it proudly displayed. I've played Spanish Bay and Del Monte. Spy Glass still not off bucket list. Based on many of the reviews, not sure I will want to come play with my own foursome. I can't imagine paying $500 each for this incredible experience only to be "rushed" for 18 holes. That would truly get me upset. Spy Glass .... your next!!!! read more

Pebble Beach Golf Links - #7 Par 3 - Golf Near Me - Pebble Beach, California

After years of practice, 3 buddies and I along with our wives decided it was time to play Spyglass and Pebble. This was 5 weeks ago. With all the pictures, reviews and hype how could this not be fantastic. At Spyglass the course was in great shape and the staff was gracious. We played in 4 hours and 20 minutes and really enjoyed it. At Pebble we could not have been more disappointed than we were. All of the reviews talked about the 5 hours it might take due to the challenges on the course and the stunning views. We were ready to enjoy this. We were met on the 1st T box by the "Pace of Play Manager". He proceeded to tell us that he wanted to make sure ALL golfers could enjoy the experience so he would keep an eye on all of the golfers to make sure there was a good pace. He stated "if I think you are too slow I will ask you to pick up the pace." If we were warned and not improving he would have to ask us to pick up our ball and move to the next T box. If we continued to be too slow he would ask us to pull off of the course". I asked if he had ever had to do that and he said yes. This was a stunning introduction to what was about to take place. We were on top of a foursome who had a caddie, and we had a foursome on top of us that had a caddie. For as far as we could see every group was on top of every group. Course is cart path only so be prepared to get some jogging in if you ball is across the fairway, take a couple of clubs and be prepared to jog back to the cart. This type of play was mandatory to make sure we kept up. Not one beer was enjoyed or one cigar lite for we had no time. We walked off of 18 in 3 1/2 hours. Our wives were there waiting for us with big smiles asking "how was it". We just all shook our heads and said awesome course but probably the worst round ever for we could not enjoy it at all. A very disappointing experience and the exact story I have told and will continue to tell when asked about our trip to play Pebble Beach. Wally C. read more

One of the pinnacle golf courses you can play...I was a tad nervous with a handicap of 14...but after playing there, I say don't be intimidated...if you have the opportunity to play there...do it! Biggest problem is getting tee time if you don't plan on staying there...you can only book 1 day in advance...We needed 2 tee times so we booked rooms. I booked back in 2/21 for 6/21. I got 2 back to back tee times at 2:50pm. They guaranteed that we would finish at that time. There are no discounts given for PB...only value is that if you stay there, carts are included... Service: 5 stars...no one was snooty. Everyone was professional and warm. The marshalls were actually very friendly and helpful. I always look at the marshalls and cops that would judge my game...Charlie was amazing. Made my wife and her friends feel at ease. Gave great tips. They were all willing to shuttle players to the nearest course. They kept pace of play as best as they could...just be ready for 5.5hrs... Course Condition: Fantastic. Weather was a tad overcast and had a slight breeze...I could not complain. Fairways were nice. Rough was thick. Sand was actually not as nice as SB or Spyglass. Greens were in good condition. Did not run as fast as I was expecting...but very consistent...Overall, it was a hard course...I started off strong but then lost some balls due to not knowing were to land certain shots...Greens are tiny compared to the other courses. I played from the gold and that was perfect for me. All of us had a fantastic time...we tee'd off at 2:50pm and finished at 8:20pm...plenty of light left. I will cherished the experience. First off, this course costs $550 plus a $95 caddie fee (you should definitely play with a caddie here at least once and I wouldn't even consider riding a cart, especially since it is cart path only). This is absurd. This golf course is phenomenal and exceeded my expectations and all of the pictures and videos I have seen. Absolutely stunning. I was so nervous I was shaking on the first tee box and it just felt surreal to walk down the same fairways that I have seen in video games and that the legends have been walking for 100 years. The course has sweeping ocean views from almost every hole and the 6-7-8 stretch is as good as anything else I have seen, with 18 being the best finishing hole I have ever played. Despite playing only two weeks after the US Open, conditions were fabulous (and tough as the rough had not all been cut back yet). They were still taking down grandstands and tents so it was kinda cool to see the course as the pros do. The hazards, small greens, winds, and nerves make this the toughest course I have ever played, but at least I made some pars along the way. The service here was friendly, top notch and helpful - everyone from the bag drop to my caddie was affable and down to earth. I also really enjoyed hearing about all the celebrities and pros who have walked this same course. It was fun pretending to be a high roller for a few hours despite being almost certainly the poorest player on the course. Sure, a 6 hour pace of play on a random weekday is truly ridiculous. Sure, the $130 polo shirts in the gift shop are laughable. Sure, paying almost $650 to play a round of golf seems crazy. But I think this experience was worth it and I hope that some day I can go back. read more
