They were nice when I bought the glasses but not so much when I had to return them. After a while, I realized that my vision wasn't corrected sufficiently. At first I thought it was a matter of getting used to the progressive lenses but it never improved. I went to my own eye doctor and sure enough the script (written by the Pearle optometrist) was way wrong. Not even close. I brought the glasses back (albeit about 3-4 months after I bought them), with my new and correct script, and they refused to do anything for me. Told me it's my fault for not bringing them back sooner. I paid top dollar for the lenses and frames (sunglasses and regular glasses) and they refused to don anything for me. read more

Note: This review is for a very specific interaction w/ this store. No diagnostic or sales were part of my interaction at this store. A few days ago, my daughter's eyeglasses were coming apart. It looked like a tiny screw had come out (lost). We did not get the glasses here, but b/c they're close, I popped in to see if they could help. The woman up front said they could take a look, a technician from the back found a screw that could work and fixed them. I'm doubled-down on my luck and asked if they could fix a pair of sunglasses I had that were also missing a screw. They fixed them too. Both no charge. Yes- two small instances of good customer service- but worth calling out. read more

I have gotten every eye exam and glasses here for the last 5 years. The staff is super friendly, and they're always on time. I recently had to have my glasses adjusted and the person helping me was awesome - completely readjusted them so that they got my face perfectly and when I asked to pay, "oh, we aren't charging you for this." The most poorly run office ever encountered! Their records, electronic and paper, are completely erroneous. Their staff needs training and the franchisee is arrogant. I only trust my eyesight to Dr. Michele Scherz. She is very thorough, knowledgeable and, most of all, patient. She takes the time during the exam to explain the tests she is performing and why. Dr. Scherz has taught me the importance of having eye exams in order to check on my eye health and my vision. When it comes time to pick out frames, she and her staff are very helpful and know the fashion trends for eyewear. They steer me towards frames that compliment my face shape and make sure that the glasses and sunglasses fit properly for my eyes. We came to Pearle Vision to obtain eye exams and purchase glasses and contact lenses. The variety of glasses they have to offer is okay - could be better, but we were able to find what we needed from both the men and women sections. The optometrist is okay. I used to go to a much more expensive place for my glasses, which require lenses that can be a little tricky to get right. The rest of my family has gone to Pearle for a long time. I give Pearle very high marks. My glasses came out absolutely right the first time, but then it turned out there was a defect in the lenses that showed up shortly after I got them. They replaced the lenses without complaint, and totally handled dealing with the manufacturer. The replacement lenses showed the same defect after a while. Once again, Pearle made it totally right, without a hassle and without any resistance. I judge a place by how well it responds to a problem, and Pearle could not have been better. And the staff is really great. Very, very high marks! A good selection and lots of patience when you are looking for frames too! read more

My license was about to expire on 1-21-18 so on 1-17-18 I went to renew my license and I didn't pass the vision test, I called up a few places for an eye exam but none took walk ins. I got really nervous i then call Pearle Vision in Scarsdale I explained to Wendy my problem and she was very helpful fit me right in. I met Dr Scherz and I told her I have Keratoconus and my vision has gotten worse, as we did the eye exam we talked about my condition. she made me feel very comfortable, all went well and on 1-18-18 in less than 24hrs I had my new glasses i passed the dmv vision test and on 1-19-18 I got my license so a huge Thank you to Dr. Michele Scherz and her staff Wendy,Candida and the tech (sorry forgot his name) for an awesome experience see you next year. I had been having terrible problems trying to wear contact lenses for years until I was recommended by a friend to Dr. Scherz and her wonderful staff. They are the most PATIENT people on the planet!!! They never made me feel stupid and I am now wearing my contact lenses successfully and feeling great! They ALL took their time with me and never made me feel rushed. Her staff practiced putting them in and out with me until I felt confident. Absolutely horrible customer service. When I made the appointment I made it very clear the type of insurance I had. I left work early to get to the office only to be told I needed specific paperwork from the insurance company; my insurance card was not enough. They refused to see me. I said I wished they had explained that when I made the appointment. Their response was "oh well". Never going back. read more

The people in this place are absolutely wonderful!!! I have been a customer there for about 3 years. I called last weekend to see if the doctor could see me because I had an eye irritation. They made sure I could see the doctor immediately. I thought since I was there I should look for new glasses. The doctor herself helped me choose the right frame and checked to see if they can use my insurance. They didn't have exactly the frame I wanted so she checked online and found the exact frame I wanted. She ordered it and then they gave me a 30% discount. About a month ago, my daughter's glasses broke during school. I took my daughter to the store in the afternoon. The lens specialist who is a wonderful person went above and beyond to help us so that my daughter had glasses to wear immediately. He spent about an hour trying to find frames that could fit the old lenses since the frames broke but not the lenses. We couldn't find an exact fit that my daughter liked the style so we ordered new frames. The lens specialist gave us lenses for free that were close enough to her prescription so that my daughter could have glasses for the next day until her own lenses came. In addition he gave us a huge discount on the new lenses and frames. I love these people. I will never go anywhere else. read more

WARNING: If you go here, check your Explanation of Benefits! I stupidly went here instead of my usual mom and pop shop. When I went to pick up my glasses, they did them incorrectly and put the wrong lenses in them which made me see double. So I had to come back a week later. Then, they overcharged me (I was charged $530, and my insurance EOB said my responsibility was $438), and the people in there didn't know anything about insurance so she was talking out of her ass making up excuses. The doctor said they would call the insurance to find out what the problem was...I found out they called and did overcharge me, but it took ME calling the place back to find out! Then she said they won't correct the claim and will just give me a refund. That sounded fishy to me, so I called the insurance company back and they said that's not how it worked. They called Pearle Vision and told them they have to send a corrected claim. I will never go there again. read more
