They replaced my broken pair of glasses and got me on my way fast with a very small co pay I was very pleased with there service.

PearlVision Collegeville deserves a 5 star rating. From start to finish the staff was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My eye exam by Dr Lisa Buraks was very thorough. She took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I never felt rushed. They have a large selection of frames. I am so disappointed. I received my new bi-focal glasses last week. I absolutely love the frames, but the lenses make me look like I am wearing very thick bottles. I haven't seen lenses like this since the 70s. I returned to the store yesterday, spoke with an associate, and he explained that there is nothing they can do to correct that. This is just the way my prescription is. I find it hard to believe as my prescription is not that strong. I called and asked for a refund as I had spent +$300 and was told that they don't offer a money back guarantee. I will NEVER use Pearle Vision again. How sad that they are willing to let their customer spend that much money and leave unhappy. Even sadder that I'm embarrassed to wear them in public. read more

Was able to walk in and immediately get my glasses adjusted for free. Very friendly employees.

This was my first visit to Pearl Vision. I already had a prescription for glasses so I didn't need an eye exam. I was greeted when I walked in & they took my temp. A gentleman assisted me & was awesome. I know he told me but sadly I forget his name. He directed me to the frames, and told me to have fun!! He gave me 2 trays to place my maybe's" and for "no's." Plus, they disinfect all the frames before they get returned to the wall. Nice! I was so happy to do my thing without anyone up my arse. Some people want help picking out frames, and some don't but help was just an Ask away. Trying on frames while wearing a mask sucks. So I made sure I was away from anyone, turned my back for safe measure and quickly pulled my mask down to get a quick look with the different frames on. As long as you're not obnoxious or act entitled about it it's fine. While I was movin & groovin the frames, gentlemen was getting my insurance coverage for me. And boy did he!! I brought him the frames I selected (cute pair of Michael Kors around $265) praying my insurance would cover most of it, and it did! Frames, plus some add ones like shade & glare my total was $115! Holla!! Ya gotta take the wins whenever & wherever! read more

My wife and I are seniors. My wife called Pearle Vision, Collegeville, to make and appointment. She asked, did they take United Healthcare insurance. She was told yes. I kept the appointment and signed a form that I would be responsible for a $39 eye scan that was not covered by insurance. After the exam and selecting frames I went to the payment desk and was told they could not bill United Healthcare for the $90 exam but would furnish a receipt that I could use to try and collect from United Healthcare. This is a deceptive and dishonest way to do business. Apparently reading reviews about many different Pearle Vision locations this is standard practice for many or maybe all Pearle Vision locations. read more

The examination seems too quick & the doctor didn't explain much or so. The sales tactics was a little bit too pushy too, and they charged me over $133 just to get the lenses replaced with the new prescripmy old frames. read more

A very clean and friendly environment. Not only did they make the trying on and picking out frames fun and easy, but she actually helped me pick frames that looked good on me! My favorite though was the pick up experience. A gentleman greeted me as soon as I walked in. Sat me down. Asked if I had ever worn glasses before. When I said no he went step by step on how to wear and adjust to my new progressive lenses. Every step he made fun and easy. I left being able to see and smiling! I saw Dr Hajduk over the summer; my previous optometrist relocated to a practice in center City and it just wasn't convenient. In hindsight,I this was a MAJOR misstep -- a little over a week ago, I scratched my cornea attempting to take out a RIDICULOUSLY DRY contact lens (which was prescriped by Dr. Hajduk). I called the office immediately the following morning. It WAS before they were open, but I left a message, stressing my urgency that this was an optical emergency and that I needed to be seen as soon as possible; the time was approximately 7:30 am. I've done this before (not in YEARS because I've been around the block and am finally compliant with my CL wear) and knew I was going to need something stronger than your basic artificial tears. I was at work and left them the number; I ended up leaving early because I was so uncomfortable without hearing from them. They called me after 2 pm. So more than seven hours later; for an emergency. Here's the best part--when they called my job, one of my employees told them I'd left early and they asked her for my cell phone number BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT. I'm an ESTABLISHED PATIENT. Why, praytell, do you NOT have my contact information?! What are you ACTUALLY DOING in that building??!?? They call me (Ken? Keith? Kurt? Don't remember) and I say "I called before 8 am and left a message saying I needed to be seen as soon as possible. I described my symptoms on the voicemail." I got "I know." "It's seven hours later." Again "I know." "Seriously." And AGAIN "I know." And I finally had it: "Yeah, I KNOW something too. I know that if this is how you treat patients with obvious EMERGENCIES, I'll never come back. I'll be following up to let you know where you can send my records." Not even an apology, explanation, SOMETHING?! Even better? I definitely scratched my cornea, as confirmed by another optometrist; it was nearly a corneal ulcer which can get REALLY NASTY and lead to ophthalmologist/specialist visits if left untreated. Go with your gut; you get what you pay for and sometimes the extra drive time is worth it in the end if you escape the hassle -- and discomfort! **Side note--if an optometrist is prescribing new contacts from a brand you're not currently wearing, they should, ideally, bring you back in for some type of follow-up to check said lenses on your eyes. Ideally three hours is a good minimum for them then to look at the movement, vision, and variable dryness. At that time they can tweak the prescription or CATCH ANY ISSUES if necessary. Had she done that, she would have been able to see that these new lenses were drying the bejesus out of my eyes. read more

I went there and I just felt so not welcome. Everyone was really quiet, the optometrist was not really that friendly. Didn't really explain a whole lot. Rushed the eye exam. They also didn't know how to read my insurance coverage and tried to charge me even more than what they shouldn't have charged me, which was what my insurance was supposed to pay for. Just an unpleasant experience all around. Will be sticking with my Coventry Mall Pearl vision even though they are further for me. They have an excellent staff, and can understand insurance a whole lot better than the Collegeville location. read more

The eye doctor I went to for years finally retired, so after I tried one other privately-owned eye practice that sucked so bad I'm not even going to review it, I came here. The exam was done quickly, yet it was thorough--retinal imaging, glaucoma test, dilation, the whole nine yards. I even tried their Transitions lenses for the first time in my life--they're the ones that automatically turn dark when you go outdoors or into bright light, which eliminates the need for sunglasses for most people. To my pleasant surprise, the last time I went there for an exam, the doc told me I did NOT need new glasses this time. (Luckily I'm not enrolled in a FSA or I'd have been screwed, because their rules are use it or lose it.) That tells me they're not trying to exploit me, and that's important. ' Yes, it's a chain store, but this location is OK if it's convenient for you. You can get your exam done before, after, or even during your shopping at the Providence Town Center. There are several places here where you can take a break and eat too. read more

The store failed to mention they are not offering dilation ahead of time and then told me they offer a digital version which I had already refused as it would cost $39 additionally. They failed to properly schedule my appointment, this was an appointment for first time contact user and they never mentioned they required any class for new contact users until I was standing in the store. They failed to assist me in finding a solution so I would be able to take the required course, they only offered me a time where I would have to take off time from work, as an essential employee this is hard to do at this time. And told me they would not give me my prescription so I could go elsewhere to get contacts if I still had the exam. I had already not only wasted my time but that of my families due to the fact they drove me because, as previously stated, they failed to inform me that they are not dilating at this time. read more

I will never go back to Pearl Vision's Collegeville, PA location. The ophthalmologist was very good; the admin staff was completely unhelpful and unknowledgeable about insurance and/or product rebates. I purchased contacts and an associate handed me flier about a rebate, which she nor any other associate understood or cared to investigate. I was denied the $75 rebate, because my order did not meet rebate requirements. The staff was flippant with my request for more information about the rebate at the time of my visit, which now makes sense, because they neither understand nor care about ways to help their customers save money. Don't waste your time or money at this location. read more

Beware! I will not go back. The optometrist rushes the eye exam. The owner overcharged me $160 for a pair of glasses. Luckily I checked with my insurance company for what the glasses should have cost before paying the remainder. I asked the Optician to go over the pricing with me and they had no clue how to read an invoice. They had an invoice and a price list. The owner and opticians are incompetent or thieves, or maybe both. The owner actually said to me "Insurance is complicated". This is her business, pricing isn't rocket science. read more
