Made an appointment for me and my wife, filled out all their forms online including copies of my insurance cards, appointments were confirmed, but the day of the visit we were told they could not verify my wife's insurance, so she would have to pay out of pocket. I told them she was insured, so they suggested I call my carrier and reschedule my wife's appointment. I guess a phone call prior to me arriving would have been too much to ask. We both left and I will not be back. I called my insurance company and they indeed verified my wife is covered. Just another example of people not doing their job properly. Horrible customer experience. read more

First time visit for an eye exam. I loved the establishment location and how clean/organized the inside was for the patients. The eye exam was great and the technicians made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. Although, I went inside for an eye exam. I left out really informed on my eye health and eye glasses recommendations. I recommend to first time patients! read more

Would like to thank Ms Marjon (apologies if spelled incorrectly) for her excellent customer service, and for helping me today with my contact purchase. She also went out of her way to help me save some cash by checking for any rebates. Easily my best experience here as a longtime patient. Thanks again you rock!! read more

Anyone who's not giving Sarah and her team 5 stars is either not accustomed to excellence in products and service or are just plain rude! They are awesome and have been since her Dad ran things back in the day! Keep up the great work! Clif read more

I came here for an annual eye exam, since I hadn't been in a couple of years. Parking was a little hectic being the weekend, but the location was easy to find. I was checked in right away and didn't have to wait too long. I made a prior appointment online. The ladies that assisted me before seeing the doctor were really nice. I had read good reviews on Dr. Naguib, and that is who I saw for my eye exam. He was very professional and went over everything from my visit very thoroughly. My visit was on a Saturday, so it was pretty busy but I was in and out within an hour which wasn't terrible. I'll more than likely go see Dr. Naguib next year for my next eye exam. I didn't have many complaints leaving here. read more

I like going to this location because they're organized and have really great customer service. They also understand the speed at which things need to be done and get new patients processed in quickly before they're ready to be seen by the eye doctor. Once in the eye doctor's chair, the process continues and is still quick. I can be in and out of here in about 30 minutes depending on if I'm getting my eyes dilated. I buy my glasses online but they have a pretty big selection of eyewear for everyone in your family. The prices seem okay but like I said I buy mine online because I like the website I get them from and there is more selection. The one thing I don't like is having to sign and bring paperwork with you that you may or may not need depending on who is working the front desk. You should be able to submit your paperwork electronically or sign on an iPad or something once you arrive. I know they are taking every precaution due to Covid and cleanliness though, so that's just something minor. I also like that you can mark your appointment online. So if you're a busy person like me and don't really want to call to set an appointment, just head online. My old Pearle Vision location used to send appointment reminders via email to let you know when your yearly review is up. I think this location does that as well. read more

Doc and staff very nice on first visit. Exam (covered by insurance)- and they have a special camera, no dilation- So, 39.00 and first cha-ching -and then- post-exam and script: BAMM- High Pressure Sales with Extremely HIGH prices- while holding your script! Hard Lesson Learned: -If you need a script/exam and its covered, Go- OK, BUT- take your script and run for the door before they get their teeth into you! Very nice, all smiles, etc. -after you pay for the glasses, and time for pickup- All smiles are gone. You're just another victim. No assist, smudgy mirror, Moronic reading card, no review of what was ordered- no slip- "here's your glasses, -do you need anything else...NEXT"... GET YOUR GLASSES ELSEWHERE- SAVE MONEY- LOTS of $$$ read more

Pearle Vision - Exam-maybe; glasses- oh no! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Brandon, Florida

My husband and I went to Pearle for our yearly eye exam. The doctor and check in staff were amazing. However when I got to the part of having to pick out the glasses it felt insensitive and as if she was just doing her job. For that reason I decided to get glasses else wear. But we will return next year for eye exams! read more

Realized my near sight vision went down the tube a couple days ago. So I decided to try this place out sense my insurance works with them. Honestly after reading the mixed reviews? I don't know what the 4 star under are for? I had a great experience here. Walked in with my mom. The staff was very welcoming n very attentive. Filled up my paperwork n as always froze at the gender check up bump. The nice ladies up front told me i can put what i identify as that their facility is welcoming of all stripes. I always ask this so i can put this in the review for anybody of my community looking for Trans friendly places. Was never miss gendered. No arguments, nada. That's a huge plus for me. Other places expect u to put whats on paper. I literally waited less than 3 minutes after the paperwork. Sat my butt down n i got called in next! Wobbled my way to the test. "Left one or right" lol office was clean, you can tell they throughly clean it after patients. My vision changed a bit. So i went with both glasses n contacts. The doctor Curva I believe was her name, recommended me a special type of contacts that have both the long n close range built into them. Not everybody can use them. I got lucky n they slid in perfectly! I took a refresher on contact wear n learned a nice trick to pick em out by sliding them to a corner n pinch it out. Got sent to the closer who i got Ms. Emely, ya'll 4 star under's call her the tattoo girl lol i had a phenomenal experience with her. She knew what she was doing. Very direct no sales pitch or tricks. I had already picked two frames i liked. A red coach frame that said look at me! "Im up to no good!" And a Dolce Gabbana, decorated in lavish feathers, old cheery oak woods n also red. That pair literally said; "we gonna fuck shit up and rule the world! Break hearts and burn everything with our love! Niahahahwhwhh (cue evil villainess music, pan out cam) So we all know which one i picked lol Emely checked if my insurance could knock the whopping $400 mark n it did. It was like $350 under but with full power package it was in the $395.15 Doesn't sound like much cuz i added everything to it! Or else it be way less, i was satisfied with it. The insurance saved me $734.80, not bad for DG glasses. Ill later buy a cheap set online for work. One has to have a double identity if one gonna be up to shenanigans lol All in all, i had a wonderful time n experience visiting this business and will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place. If ya not intimidated by strong and ambitious women? Come on down! Ps: i cracked up mid visit cuz there's a furry picture on the back. That alone made me want to stay lol Felt like i fit right in. read more

Everyone I came in contact with today at this location were professional and kind. Special shout out to Abbie and Ilze. You gals rock!

if I could give less than one star I would. The staff is rude and always rushed. We bought a pair of glasses less than 60 days ago and piece to place on the ear broke away from the frame when my child opened it to put them on in the morning. My other younger children were being seen and with their grandmother, so the sales person took my oldest 16yr old to pick out his frames and let him acknowledge all documents which he declined the warranty due to being 16, on an already overpriced pair of glasses (+500.00), they will not fix it unless we pay over $200.00. Understood that no warranty it is on us however the glasses are not even 90 days used and all documents were acknowledged while the adult was in an exam room and by a 16 yr old! I feel something could be offered since the glasses came apart when opening them and were not pulled or smashed. Not to mention we were told that since we didn't get a warranty, if we order another pair the warranty can not be added because originally it was declined. Will not be going back and will not be recommending to others. Very unfortunate as the actual eye dr is great. Glass are way overpriced and your poor customer service is unacceptable. read more

I have been a dedicated customer and supporter to Sara at the Brandon FL location (on Route 60 near Chili's) for about 20 years. Her professionalism and customer service skills are amazing! I'm a diabetic so I need to go to a facility thst I can trust. Even though I moved out of town it's worth it to make the road trip to Brandon to visit Sara. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! read more

I ordered my glasses at the tuna $408 for trifocals . I called in 2 weeks and they had come in but were wrong and had to be sent back . Another two weeks went by I finally called them after not hearing from them and picked up my glasses . The girl told me if I have blurred vision looking in the distance to move the glasses down my nose further . Not a way to run a business . The trifocal takes up 75% of the glass making my distant vision blurry . read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this location! They were very attentive to my needs, as I have a high prescription that is basically legally blind. I thought their prices for exams were very reasonable and they offered the basics which my insurance covers. I called various other places and one told me it would be $60 for a basic eye exam which was insane!!! My plan covers basic eye exams and contact exams for $25 each and that's exactly what Pearle offered me! They had a wide variety of glasses which I liked because they had all price points. Everyone that works here is very nice and were helpful when it came to pricing out everything and helping me find what works best for me. I didn't know that I currently had the high index lenses in my glasses and they were able to help me fit my new glasses exactly as needed! I felt like they went above and beyond for me and made sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. They were not pushy at all and didn't act like car salesman, as I have been to many eye doctors that can be that way. They were very attentive and I would 100% recommend giving this location a try! read more

If I could give less then 1 star I would. If you know me, you know I'm a fair an critic. The story goes like this 1 year ago during the "Pandamic" I had an eye exam, at Pearl Vision and new glasses. The glasses came back in 2 weeks and they weren't the correct script, in fact I had a headache everytime I wore them. I took them back they told me I needed to adjust to them. I never got used to them and stopped wearing them altogether. Fast foward to this year, I went back because this is where they accepted my insurance. I had another exam and ordered my new glasses. I was told they would be in in 2 weeks. I had to call them after 17 days after I ordered them, they told me to call back. 20 days after I ordered them I called them spoke to the manager they told me they had made a mistake and they would look into it and call me back. 3 hrs later an employee not the manager called me back, she said they will expedite the order and it could be an additional 2 weeks till I got my prescription glasses. I told them cancel my order and refund my money, they did. Now I have to contact the insurance company to make sure they dont get paid and I receive a credit. What a mess! NEVER AGAIN! read more

All I can say is WOW! Customer service was amazing, the doctor and staff were extremely knowledgeable. I was very impressed. Although it was a busy day, the doctor didn't rush our appointment. Took his time thoroughly explaining every single thing. Highly recommend. read more

terribly disappointed. not only did we find out our regular optometrist left, but the issues of communications between the doctors and front staff is terrible. we decided to stay at pearle vision center, despite our optometrist's departure because we always felt comfortable with the front staff, until today. we had 2 appointments, 1 for my husband an i. upon entering, the woman at the desk told us that in addition to our $10 co-pay we had to pay for a retinal scan, that our insurance doesn't pay for, for an additional $39. we both said that was never a must do before, she said that well, the doctor insists on it & that she could see if they'd just do a dilation instead. i told her we had our eyes dilated last year and that the Dr. had told us every other year was adequate. she said you HAVE to do the retinal scan and maybe the Dr. might let you just do the dilation instead. my husband just went along with it.....i for sure WAS NOT. i thought, I AM THE PATIENT, I HAVE A SAY IN MY OWN CARE....if you're trying to scam me into paying for something i do not want then why stay. i told her to just cancel my appt. and that i was leaving, she tried to change my mind but i was having none of it......after i left, come to find out that the Dr. DOESN'T require that i do either test, and the front desk woman told my husband she "didn't know that". so now, i am going to have to find a new optometrist. i refuse to go back. i wonder how many other people they SCAMMED into HAVING to pay extra for a test they may not want! read more

I got my eyes examined last year from that. When I got my glasses my prescription was not corrected. I told them and they tried to convince me that I had to get used to them. I went back in they retested my eyes and still ended up with the wrong prescription. I changed my review from a 2 star to 4 star because Pearle Vision told me to contact them and I went in today and Sara said she would do right by me and change the prescription in my glasses to the current prescription. Happy for that since I love my glasses. Thank you for making things right. read more

My husband had a scratch on a lens of his glasses he bought at Pearle Vision last year. We went in to see if they could fix it. They said he needs new lens, so we made an appt to make sure prescription was updated. As the receptionist made the appt, I put it on my calendar at the same time, it was for 11am 01/25/23. We arrive 20 mins early for the appt. They took walk-ins and people that arrived late for their appt before my husband. He waited 50 mins after his scheduled appt and walked out. I called to complain, they said "oh, we was going to be called next". Then they called back and said his appt was at 11:20, which is bullshit because I was there when the receptionist said 11am and I put it on my calendar as she said it. Since the original doctors left, the place isn't the same. read more

I can't speak for the optometrist portion of the business, as I came with a prescription from my ophthalmologist. Although a little busy, I was quickly waited on, and had the good fortune to be helped by Lisa. At the time I was there Lisa was the only licensed optician, and it showed that she was very knowledgeable and personable. The selection of frames is much better than many of the smaller places in town. I chose to get two pairs of glasses, one progressive lense for normal use, and another fixed focal length for computer work. This turned out to be a good decision, as my computer screen is decidedly sharper with the second pair. Before going I measured the distance from the bridge of my nose to the center of my computer monitor so that they could craft lenses for me that were the precise focal length that would be optimal for me. Lisa took extra care in doing the eye distance measurements and writing up the order. My glasses were ready when promised in about 1 week's time. I made sure to see Lisa again when I came in for the fitting, and she really worked hard to form the frames to my face. I will return for future pairs of glasses when needed. read more

I haven't had to wear glasses since high school. I decided to get my eyes checked and sure enough its time to start wearing them again. The people at Pearl did it all! From the eye exam to choosing the frames. Things have advanced since the last time I've had my eyes examined and the equipment shows how much things have changed. They told me it would take 2 weeks to get my glasses in. They ended up having them in 1 week sooner. Very professional and super clean! Even during a pandemic! If you tried on a pair of glasses they were cleaned and sanitized before anyone else tried them on. I had an awesome experience here and would recommend everyone to come here in the future. Thank you for helping me out! The staff and everyone I came in contact with were amazing and explained everything they were doing. read more

Nowadays buying a pair of prescription glasses feels a lot like buying a used car. They have basic cost and then work on selling upgrades. If you are close to the Brandon Mall area, just a bit east on Hey 60, is Pearl Vision. I would like to take a few moments to acknowledge Emily at the Brandon, Fla location. When I arrived, she immediately greeted me, as I just had a disappointing experience with a "competitor." Without boring everyone with blow-by-blow details, she promptly determined what I had, what I needed & what I wanted. Her knowledge base is without question, however, her willingness to go over and beyond is what I value the most. Despite it being a holiday weekend, she still was able to get my glasses expedited. Lets, be honest- I or anyone can go anywhere to purchase glasses. It's not the product, but the presentation & the experience that goes along with it that counts. Her personality, to include her supreme sense of humor & wit is tantamount to none other, hands down. I am appreciative to have met her.
