My favorite wine shop... I live about 3 blocks from this shop and my favorite thing to do is bring the family down to get some sweet cow while mommy picks up a lovely bottle of wine. Prices are great. They have a good selections from affordable to high end. My husband went in to buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate a big accomplishment and the owner Dustin helped him pick one that changed our life! Haha ok maybe not life changing but it definitely was the BEST. I have gotten some help picking wines, I have gotten suggestion for food/wine pairing. Walking into pearl wine company is like walking to your super cool friends house that know everything about wine! Take a second and stop in! Stopped in here the other day and it's a beautiful shop and has a very nice selection. Only downside of this shop is almost every bottle is marked up higher than almost any other store I've been to. For example I saw they had a Volpaia Chianti Classico for 28 bucks and at Argonaut that same bottle is 17. Another of my favorite bottles Chateau De Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape is 95 dollars here vs 85 other places. One more of my favorite bottles Domaine Faury Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah is 33 here and 25 other places. I'm all for supporting small business, but you're paying anywhere from a 12% to 55% up charge on bottles of wine here. Unfortunately this place is way way too expensive to be a regular stop for me. read more

It's alright. I'm specifically writing a review for their Fitzsimmons location. The exterior is nice and they have decent charcuterie ingredients, but their service is bizarre! I wish I had a better word to use, but their employees truly act as if you're doing a disservice by shopping in their establishment. I guess because it's a hipster bike/liquor shop they can ignore you as part of their brand? Their wine selection is decent, nothing too spectacular, I'd go there in an absolute pinch but otherwise, avoid. Just meh overall. read more

Crazy up charge on their liquor. Do yourself a favor and do price comparison before buying. I purchased three bottles of liquor and every one was heavily marked up, one bottle I bought here for $46 and the same size bottle is in other stores for $28!!!! Went here cause of the reputation. Two employees asked me if I had questions. I declined; I think I know enough about most wines to make a good decision. I bought a Barola for $18. It wasn't the most expensive one I ever bought by a wide margin - but definately the worst. I expected this shop to sort through the wines they sell; shocked I bought one which was sooooo bad. (and it wasn't oxidized, it was just awful). Doubtful I will ever return. read more

Driving home from work a different route, I saw this shop for the first time. Parking is tough on this block, but I drove around the block and parked across the street. It is laid out well and nicely presented, but the staff person in the shop made no effort to assist or sell to me. I asked if they had organic wines. His answer was really perplexing. He said "95% of the wines in the shop are organic or bio-dynamic." Yet, not one was labeled as organic, nor did he bother to show me or point me to anything organic. He also said that most certified organic wines "throw anything they can on their vines to yield as much as possible" inferring that organic wines aren't actually organic. What? I saw exactly one bottle under $15, so this shop is not for the price conscious shopper. I also asked about organic beers, and he had no input on that at all. For the price, one would expect a more knowledgeable assist and someone who actually enjoys making a sale. :-( Oh, well. I'll stick to the options that stock and separate organic wines and beers. read more

The red head woman that was there was very disrespectful and didn't want to sell my friend liquor because I didn't have my ID. When I told her I had it on my phone she said ok then told me to go get it because I said I lived up stairs and when I said I didn't want to go upstairs she said she wouldn't sell it to us. This had nothing to do with me and my friend wasn't able to buy the alcohol because she was in her feelings. Like she shouldn't work there if she can't control her feelings. She's awful and I'm going to tell The Fremont, where I live, about their rude employee and tell my friends to not come to pearl because that lady was awful for no reason. Trash service! read more

I had to consult at length with boyfriend to discuss our mutual experience at the Pearl Wine Company. With so many five star reviews, I had to really check my experiences with another person to validate to myself this place deserves a three star rating. We each have been in the store probably a half a dozen times individually, but never together. In our experience has been the same. Not so great... First, the shop is literally 40 paces from my house. It should be a weekly stop for me (if not daily). They have newly remodeled the shop and it is slick and clean and full of a nice variety of wines in a very reasonable range of prices.. This should be a five star destination that I go to very often, however I don't. I choose to drive to friendlier wine shops all over town rather than to step foot in here. What blows it? Simply, they are not friendly. In fact, one could go so far as to say that they are slightly rude and offhand. I have never experienced a friendly greeting or had a positive human interaction experience in the store, and the proprietor acts though he doesn't really care for my business. It's hard to plunk down money when they don't really want it. Boyfriend went in one time after we had purchased a bad bottle of wine, it had turned to vinegar, and the proprietor shrugged his shoulders and said oh well. Anyway, after realizing how I really feel about this shop, I probably will make great strides to go elsewhere where I'm treated civilly, if not nicely! read more

I have been shopping at Pearl Wine for a year now and I love their selection. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Austin has been trying to remember my name for the wine club the past few months and at one point had it, but I'll probably have to remind him next time I go in. He's still a cool dude though. In non-COVID times Pearl Wine offers tastings which is really neat. Lots of tasty beers and ciders. We love Haykin Family Cider and Pearl Wine carries a lot of their bottles. Also, check out their cheese and crackers. Such a good idea and seriously delicious. I have seen reviews about prices being high but you can rest easy knowing the wine selections they are bringing to the table are bar none. A honestly good local shop. 10/10. Would recommend. Cute shop, in a cute location. Despite the small size, the variety of wines available was impressive. Not a great selection of chilled wines, however. Maybe adding one more cooler would remedy this. Anyway, the reason I was prompted to write this review: the terrible customer service. I know some people do not necessarily want to work during the super bowl, so maybe that was the reason for this staff member's unwelcome demeanor and abrasiveness? However, when I come to a smaller wine shop like this, I expect it to be somewhat more expensive than alternative stores, but this is typically paired with knowledgeable staff who are open to helping with my wine selection. It becomes an experience and it's how I've found most of my favorite wines. Needless to say, this is not that type of wine shop, and you may even be verbally insulted by the cashier as you purchase your overpriced bottle of vino like I was. I love this store! They are super knowledgable and happy to help you find a bottle of wine in your price range that will go well with whatever food you might be having or that will suit your mood. There are wines in different price ranges and plenty of great ones for under $20. My wife and I stop in at the Pearl Wine Company probably too often, but that's because of the wonderful selection and amazing staff (and we love wine)!! This is our favorite wine, beer, and liquor shop in Denver - we rarely shop anywhere else. Dustin, the owner, is always welcoming and has some of the best suggestions for wines, liquor, and beer, and their new charcuterie alcove and selection of mixers is awesome! My go-to-guy for craft beer is Jared - after just a few interactions, he knows my palette and always recommends the perfect brew for grilling, mowing the lawn, or just hanging out. Kristin has become our wine guru - she knows what we like, at what price point, and never fails to make wonderful recommendations that we would have never thought about or considered. They also have a very nice selection of liquors including vodka, whiskey, bourbon, gin, and things you may have never heard of! Also, they are sandwiched between Sweet Cow ice cream and Park Burger, and right across the street from Platt Park Brewery and Quiero Arepas - so you can get food, drinks, and desert all in one location. Wine Not Wednesday, Craft Beer Friday, and Spirit Saturday are always a fun way to taste new wines, beer, and liquor, sometimes seasonal or paired with wine, cheese, crackers, or ice cream! A great neighborhood wine (and charcuterie!) shop where the selection is extensive and well thought out, the staff are universally knowledgeable, and prices are reasonable. On numerous occasions I've gone in with only a vague description of what I wanted (a whiskey for sipping neat and as Old Fashionds, a red blend with a lot of Zin, a gift for a backyard barbeque) and have walked out with the perfect thing! Great new wine store! We went in to find wines for our Thanksgiving meal. The owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He took the time to walk through the store with us, selected a variety of wines and described each one in detail.
