The best place to get inexpensive booze and wine! Other stores don't always have this large of a liquor store, which is an entirely separate cashier and space. You really can't go wrong and one might say this is sometimes better than even the "popular" liquor store on colfax. Smaller space, sure, so less variety, but the prices and variety they do have is good! Their TJ Garden of the Gods vodka can't be beat. It wasn't present on the shelf last time I went, though! Hmmm? They have a blended scotch whiskey that's a decent deal. The wines, they seemed to have scaled back my last visit... hmmm? I don't do the Charles Shaw, but they have other great deals beyond that brand. So, sometimes stuff might be out, but that happens at TJs, sometimes. Great location with a bonus because they have the liquor store next door! I shopped at this location for years since I lived in Mayfair but even after moving 4 years ago I still drive to shop at this location. Parking can be tough but be patient and a space always opens up. This location always has a great selection of seasonal items, plants and has friendly service. I typically visit on off hours or days to avoid the crowds and long lines. Sometimes I'll power shop at 8:30p, 30 min before closing, or avoid weekends because they are restocking and I can be in and out with the items I need in 15 minutes. read more

Moving from Miami, it's been hard getting used to Trader Joe's not having wine alongside the groceries. That being said, I was happy to stumble upon the Trader Joe's with the wine shop next door. I was able to pay for my food and mosey on over to grab my wine without having to unload my cart in the car. Win-win! Calling it a "wine shop" is a bit deceiving because there's also liquor and beer. I had no idea Trader Joe's had its own whiskey but I do now! Besides that, I found the layout of the store easy to navigate and thought they had an impressive selection of everything, despite the store not being big at all. TJ's is limiting the amount of people inside but this particular shop wasn't restricted because there weren't too many people. Apparently this is like one of the only Trader Joe's liquor stores around Denver. When I heard about the $3 wine they sell I had to come down and buy some!! The $3 wine is actually really good, what an absolute bargain. 10 bottles for less than $40, now that's amazing. The store itself is really intimate and has a nice selection of wines, beers and liquors. It has a separate entrance from the regular Trader Joe's situated next door. After years of taking a cooler with me on trips to Santa Fe, I was thrilled when this TJ's opened within walking distance of my house. The stoke continues to this day. Most TJ's locations vary by the amount/convenience of parking and space to maneuver inside while shopping. Selection doesn't change much within a metro area. This store carries what I expect. However, this location stands out for their professional, efficient, and consistent approach to social distancing and limiting the spread of Covid. I feel safe shopping here and don't mind waiting a few minutes outside in exchange for more space to shop and fewer gapers moping in the aisles or blocking access to large sections of goods while they perserverate on which pack of chicken thighs or bag of rice to take home. Visits to other Denver Metro TJ's proved that these guys are head and shoulders above their local counterparts for responsible pandemic shopping. Tip: It's taken me an average of 18 minutes' wait when the line snakes around back to the dumpster area. It's rarely that long. read more

IE Tipsy's and Mollys in the same situation. You can enter the alcohol portion of Joe's through the main checkout or directly from the street. About one aisle for hard alcohol. All the typical types but with more organic local vibes. Wine is definitely the highlight here. Maybe 60% of the store includes various wines. All price points and house varieties too. Great to grab a bottle or two but not a sole place to shop. Really adds up even with their deals. More of a beer person anyway and THIS IS a Colorado location! Great local variety along with some Trader Joe specialties. The same on the wine and liquor previously mentioned. You can get an empty six pack to mix and match. Cans but mostly bottles. At any rate the staff is knowledgeable. Tell them your tastes or the special occasion and they'll point you in the right direction. read more

Best TJs in Denver because why? Because this TJs actually carries adult beverages so you can buy your two buck chuck. It was to our dismay when we realized that the grocery stores here do not carry booze.. some carry beer.. but not all the adult beverages. Which was weird to us because we're from California and they have booze. I know I sound like a drinker but I'm really not lol. Anywho, best TJs in Denver. It's a fairly large space and they have pretty decent size isles for the crowds. Only complaint I have here is that they don't carry the TJs French bread (not the baguette). With this location being walking distance from work, it's my go-to pit stop for lunch, groceries, or a cheap bottle of wine - 3 buck chuck anyone?! Staff is always friendly, helpful and showcasing new items, which makes for a fun and unique experience. Parking here is a bit tricky, as it's a hugely populated area and located on the corner of 8th and Colorado Blvd. However, they do open at 7am, so come early to beat the crowds! They discontinued the Boatswain Chocolate Stout that I have grown to love and first said it would be seasonal but now they haven't any idea if or when it will be available. I'm very disappointed. The best thing about this Trader Joe's?? They sell "3 Buck Chuck" Charles Shaw wine that is award-winning, cheap, and fantastic. It's unfortunate with the Colorado liquor laws that they can't sell alcohol in all Trader Joe's locations, and this is quite a trek from Colorado Springs to pick up wine, especially on that awful drive on Colorado Boulevard, but it's soooo worth it to stock up. read more

Everything about this experience is crowded. The parking lot, the aisles, the shopping lines. I like to come here for spices which are reasonably priced. I never drive if I can help it, but this is rarely an easy store to "run in and grab something" if you're on your way home from work, because everyone else had the same idea. Their organic vodka beats the price on a lot of name brand vodkas you find in a liquor store! Great selection and quality frozen food options (esp Indian, which typically is bland when frozen but not the Trader Joe's brand). Check out Petite Basque cheese, $8 for half a round ($15 at While Foods). Chocolate selections are the best here, esp 45% cocoa milk cholesterol bar and smores. Grapefruit that is ruby red can be hard to find in other groceries but a Trader Joe's has it, and an organic section for organic apples & potatoes. The flowers and tulips are fresh and an amazing deal $6 for 10 blooms. One unique option here I haven't found anywhere else is buying Gerolsteiner sparkling water (my fave) by the case instead of singles. Great customer service. Best of all - the produce plastic bags are biodegradable and even better quality (thicker and silky) than regular plastic still in all other grocery stores inc Whole Foods. Why is everyone that works at Trader Joe's so damn chipper? There was like 5 employees singing to the songs they probably play on repeat every day. Am I weird or they? There was one day during peak-rona where they were all deathly terrified and you could see it in their eyes. Now that was a great Trader Joe's experience that day. They seemed human finally. The best staff I have EVER encountered! I went in on Tuesday right before close (after getting a few bottles of wine from next door). The ladies helping w the carts started my journey. So nice and polite. I rushed to hurry out before close but got excited from where I was. In my excitement I forgot what I came for (salmon and artichoke). I found myself in the frozen food isle. Where I randomly asked a worker "what's your favorite thing in this store?" He said, without a moment of hesitation "strawberry licorice!" And followed up with a new item. Cheesecakes cones!!! OMG!!! Thank you to all of the staff that helped me that night. I wish I had your names. But to the sweet sweet man (hopefully a manager reads this at preshift and you know who you are!) I love TJs! Where else can you get non-gmo, preservative-free, organic foods for under $5? I seriously get out of this place for less than $100 for two week's worth of staples. As a general rule in my routine, fresh fruits, veggies,and meats, I get at Sprouts. Frozen foods and snacks come from TJs! My recent faves are the corn and quinoa salad, the organic tomato soup, and Toscano cheese. Don't miss out on the frozen pizzas and mini tacos. The cranberry oatmeal white fudge dunkers are to die for. Bottom line, I'm a huge believer of TJs. On days I'm too lazy to cook from scratch, a frozen TJ's meal is the way to go. read more

Up front - I am a big Trader Joe's fan and have been ever since I went to the original one in L.A. I frequent the Trader Joe's in Colorado Springs; however, they do not yet sell wine and spirits. In order to get a fantastic deal on wine and spirits, I must use the Denver location. They have a terrific selection of wines for inexpensive prices. There is nothing I could say remotely constructive for TJs. They do everything they should be for their customers. They come up with new products all of the time, always thinking of what customers would like. Broccoli Cheese soup like Panera? They do it better and it's cheaper. Pre-made spinach dip? They've got one that is made with Greek yogurt and healthier (my fav, extremely delicious), they've got one traditional one, they've got the one that has jalepeno artichokes like brand name GoodFoods except TJs is tastier. Need goldfish crackers? TJs version is sooo much better. Need nuts or nut butter? TJs version is cheaper and available with or without salt, and with or without added sweetness. NEED CHEESE? Don't know if you know this but TJs has the absolute best selection of cheese, tastier cheese than anywhere else, and for cheaper than anywhere else. Need ice cream? So many fun creative options. Need some freezer food? You won't find anything that rivals their options. Need fruits and veggies? Always the best selection and price. Salad mix? A new option to try practically every time I go. Salad dressings. Green Goddess done healthy and tasty. Asian jalepeno dressing with broccoli slaw. Best Everything Bagels and Chive Onion Cream Cheese around. We make the 20 min drive just to re-load my husbands breakfast staple. Bread - gluten free raisin bread is bomb. Sprouted wheat bread. Seedy grainy bread. Plain bread. Cereal. Dried fruit. Pretzels. Rosemary Marcona Almonds. Cold pressed juices. You will literally never find another grocery store with the variety, thoughtfulness, and price as this store. Hands down. Regrettably, must write about a terrible experience which had at this store. This took place last Fri. 2/12/21. The temperature was near zero outside. I am 66 yrs old and disabled. The line waiting to get in stretched around the bldg. I was unable to stand/or walk around the bldg. I asked to speak with the store mgr. He was not available. Another manager told me would help me.. I explained my situation asking what he could do to help me?  The only thing he could offer was"I could go to the end of the line and wait".  I have never been treated so rudely or disrespectfully in my life.  I would not treat my dog this way. I will never patronize any of their stores again.  Would you want your senior relatives treated this way?  I think not.  In my a my ADA rights were violated. This should be investigated to determine if this is a  company wide problem that needs to be addressed. read more
