Nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Jacobsen and Toothbar so far- and I've been coming…read morehere for 5 years. Facilities are great- new with modern technology and always clean. They have TVs in each station with headphones so you can watch Netflix during your cleaning and procedures- it makes a difference! They also have weighted blankets and pillows so you are comfortable. The lobby also features sparkling water, cold brew on tap, and espresso pods- too bad Im never kept waiting long at this practice! They are great at sticking to appointment times. They also offer 2 hours of free parking validation which Ive never gone over during a visit. My first experience was with Invisalign. I had done 18 months of Invisalign with another dentist and was not happy with the final result. Dr.Jacobsen helped me fix my bite and smile with an additional round of retainers AND was able to get my insurance to cover the fix-it treatment! It was amazing! Cleanings are always painless, and recently had my first cavity filling here (boo) but it was incredibly painless. I also like how they had identified problem areas in prior visits but didn't drill - I was able to correct my flossing and add in a fluoride toothpaste and not have to get any fillings. Overall have been super happy coming here!

I've been coming to Toothbar for the past few years and have had mostly great experiences!…read more The office is nice, modern, and centrally located. I love that they have noise cancelling headphones, overhead TVs, and are very mindful of people with dental anxiety. All of the hygienists I've seen have been excellent, and Dr. Barclay is great! I have not had any issues that others have mentioned (upselling, misdiagnosed cavities, etc) In fact, I haven't gotten a cavity since I started coming here! I needed to get some extensive dental work done recently (implants) and Dr. Barclay made me feel confident in the process. My only complaint is that it is really hard to schedule a cleaning here. You must schedule your next appointment 6 months in advance, otherwise, it's almost impossible to get on the schedule without a last minute cancellation. Luckily, for other visits I'm usually able to get in pretty quickly. I have had a mis-scheduled appointment here on accident, and feel that the visits can sometimes be rushed as there are so many patients at a given time

One of my biggest regrets is choosing to go to swish dental to get my Invisalign. I had an awful…read moreexperience at a place that I thought was a well oiled machine for Invisalign My final appointment was horrifically painful AND started 50 mins late and I had to stay an extra hour. Yes, my appointment was from 10-11, but it got started at 10:50 The teeth whitening was one of the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. I was actually wondering if it was suppose to feel like torture. Apparently, my mouth guard wasn't in place and while I was left to my own device, I was also suffering away as my gums burned and burned. I wish someone, anyone had just preface - that BURNING is not normal. I was almost in tears by the time I jump out of my seat and nearly ripped off the mouth guard, and whimpering before the tech came to check on me. My bottom gums were all either bleached white or burned. Invisalign is a huge investment - my invoice 7k or over from Swish and I really think that your local dentist could do it for cheaper (the discounts/deal isn't great bc they have such a high mark up), and you probably won't be tortured and left with WHITE GUMS after a simple whitening.

Review for Swish Dental - Bee Cave, Austin, TX…read more I've been a patient at Swish Dental, but my recent experience has been disappointing. Some of the front office staff come across as rude and act as if they run the place. I was promised that my order would be ready on 3/27, and while I understand delays can happen, the real issue was the complete lack of follow up. I specifically asked to be contacted--whether the order arrived or not and that never happened. I've been dealing with Edna at the front desk, and even after paying half of the total cost upfront, I still received no update. This is not acceptable customer service. These young office staff members would benefit from proper customer service training. Patients deserve clear communication, respect, and professionalism, especially when they've already paid and are simply waiting for the office to keep its word. Mathews

Just a warning if you choose to have your teeth whitened with We Whiten:…read more Initially, it seemed like a professional place. Easy to secure an appointment via text, multiple text reminders about the appointment. Probably received six or eight texts from them. The ad I saw that led to my booking guaranteed up to eight shades lighter and a treatment plan for $199. So I made an appointment at the Austin facility on Guadalupe for last Saturday 10/3. Arrived 10 to 15 minutes early and they were able to take me right in. The initial tech that set me up in my room was lovely and very professional. He knew what he was doing. And then the fun started. You're stuck in a chair with an apparatus on your mouth for 60 to 90 minutes, which is part of the deal. Understandable. Music was great. It was very peaceful and comfortable - until a couple with a toddler came in for a double appointment - and was allowed the let the little guy play phone video games in their lap at full volume. Despite multiple requests, little to no attempt was made to resolve that - so we were all held hostage for over half an hour with this repetitive screaming video game. Then a young girl comes in to remove the blue shield that was adhered to my gums for protection. She kept jabbing a pointed metal instrument into my gum line, trying to get the shield off and couldn't - and ended up poking a hole in my gum and never noticed. I had to stop her and remove the top shield by myself, because she was attempting to do the same thing up there. She did not seem to be very well trained, nor understand/care that I had a puncture. I also asked her if she could address the kid's game volume issue, because it was really bothersome to the rest of us, and she just looked at me and walked away. In all the multiple times that I texted back-and-forth for appointments and verification, not once was it ever mentioned to me what the immediate and 72 hour follow up needs would be. No aftercare or treatment plan was ever offered or presented. A simple PDF or print out of the information would've been very handy. After everything was done, I was surprisingly told I would need to return in a few weeks, because "you're never lightened more than 4 shades in just one visit" - although that was never mentioned anywhere, and the ad stated something very different. Then I was told only "don't have anything red for the next 24 hours." A quick Google search showed a great deal more information on post care with high grade peroxide teeth whitening. And it's much more extensive than that, but no handout was available to text or email or hand you as you walk out the door. Which pretty much guarantees that you have to come back in the next three weeks and spend another 250+ dollars to try again. I did have some noticeable lightning of my teeth, maybe 2-3 shades, but not nearly what was promised in the ad. And they automatically sign you up for the second visit, without you asking and without telling you ahead of time that that's going to be needed, as mentioned above. I canceled that via text - told them that I wouldn't be back because it was an unprofessional place and that they had punctured a hole in my gum line. Not surprisingly, the only response I got to that was a .
