I starting with Peak Performers back in Jan 2017 just looking for a job! (was unemployed) I knew that they where the only ones that would hire you if you had a disability which I do with State jobs which I had been trying to get for the past 20 years! (No luck!) I got a call for one State temp job that was only going to be about three weeks, had to decline that one because my sister was having surgery that week. But true to form that same week on a Friday, they asked would I be interesting doing interview with The State of Texas Comptroller job. I interviewed the following on a Monday afternoon and before I could literally get down the block after the interview, Dahila from the agency was calling me to tell me I had the assignment!!!! (whootie who!) I worked for Peak's for eight months and the nine-month I got hired permanently on with the State of Texas Comptroller Office. I have just made my two year anniversary. Multi-million dollar business masquerading as a non-profit agency with a monopoly on state contracts that are used for labor arbitrage. The recruiters are both biased towards and against those with disabilities. To maximize their profit center, their PR campaign invites the world to join their workforce under a long list of disabilities ranging from varicose veins to insomnia to headaches. To get a temp job they ask that you fill out a medical form listing your condition and then ask you to get a doctor to confirm your diagnosis. they also give you a typing speed test. Based on a combination of your medical diagnosis and your ability to type fast a recruiter without medical training or compassion will place you in a temp role at a wage that brings in the most profit for the agency if they like you, if not you don't hear from them at all. Where to begin! This has truly been an genuine experience. I knew from the first initial phone call, Peak Performers was where I wanted to be. Will was my first point of contact, his high energy definitely set the tone for this journey. My second point of contact was Shelby, and she made me feel so comfortable during our interview I forgot I was even interviewing. Although the final in-person interview was extensive and nothing like I had ever experienced in my career history, it was well respected. Bree is an amazing Co-CEO. Her credentials do not give her in-person drive, passion and ambition any justice. I contacted Peak Performers at the beginning of 2014 when I was looking for a new job. I was looking for a permanent job but knew temporary work could pay the bills while I was interviewing. I spoke to Mary Louise, the Recruiter and she had me make an appointment. I had a great experience with everyone including Delia at the front desk and especially Mai. They let me know they couldn't guarantee me a job but a few weeks later they called me about a job, I interviewed and I went to work that week! I worked for this agency , and I didn't have any problems at all. All the staff specially Mrs. Elizabeth are very nice and helpful. I had two accounting contracts with them. The last contract was an amazing one because it gave me a chance for a permanent job in a field different than accounting , this is what I really love.
