The HT Group Really Helped Me This Past Year! What can I say, I am grateful for having been employed during this last year in a tough, employer's market, but I know that it would not be possible without the help of the HT Group. Before I received their help, I was wasting my time trying to go directly through to the employer when I figured out that most corporate entry level jobs, when one does not have any network contacts or experience, use staffing agencies to help filter applicant pools. They really helped me get my foot in the door, and I know that there are no guarantees in life (big shock, I know), I've met a lot of new professional people who I know now to make network connections with. At the very least, I've managed to rack up some office work experience, that I hope will help me in the future should my current, potential opportunity does not work out. In my particular case I was fortunate to stay on my assignment for a almost a year and have built great rep ore with a lot of employees who now confuse me with being a regular. Again, I know there are no guarantees, but I did meet some wonderful people in the process. The only downfall is the deduction in pay. I would suggest that there be some kind of merit raises in the event that an assignment lasts longer and the host company cannot find a permanent position for an temp to be based on host reviews. The staff at the Austin HT Group are amazing! Some of the constants are of course, Krystal Matthews, who deserves a fruit & wine basket or some kind of credit! She's very professional, very kind & sweet. And she's always on top of contacting you back ( and she gets busy quite often). She just recently showed up at my assignment to bring us donuts and kolaches, which may not seem much for some, but its the gesture that counts for me. It reminded me of how much she & the HT Group helped me out, otherwise I'd probably be living out of my car! Yikes! HT Group (formally HT Staffing) is/was my only experience working with a placement agency. I responded to a blind ad and when I learned it was for a staffing agency I was reluctant to attend the initial interview. Although I had my reservations I kept my appointment and it turned out to be the best decision ever! Everyone at the HT office were extremely welcoming and professional! As a recent graduate from UT, I began using all my resources and ended up looking for jobs on craigslist. I found a post about an Executive Assistant position and it sounded interesting so I applied. It turned out to be a post from the HT Group and they immediately got in contact with me about setting up an interview. The interview was a great way for them to see how my personality is and it definitely helped them find a place for me. I just moved to Austin from California and was able to land a job within a week after contacting HT Staffing. I submitted my resume and then received a phone call the next day to set up an interview. They had me take some online tests, to gauge my abilities, and then I was scheduled to meet with Chrystal. She was so sweet from the get go. We had a short chat as to what I was looking for in a job, and then she said she might already have a position for me. After our talk I was on in interview with a company within a couple of days. This is my first experience with a temp staffing agency. I was at one of those points in life where you apply for anything and everything, typing "temp agency" into Google and shooting off your resume to each and every one down the list.
