Samantha has been my recruiter since day one. We scheduled an interview in her office about my career goals and what I am looking for in a company. The preliminary interview is great as it's semi-casual and lets the recruiter know more about you. From there, Samantha took what I wanted and soared! She was SO quick to find me opportunities, and what's even better is she genuinely listens to you. Every job position that is offered IS optional and you are in no way obligated to say, "yes" to every opportunity. Working with Samantha was a pleasant experience and the company they linked me with has been EVERYTHING I wanted! However, there was an incident when their Sr Staffing Manager, Jessica, followed up via email to see how I was doing. I had informed her of an employee, who they assigned as my approver, was treating me like her personal assistant and that prevented me from completing my actual job. She was NOT my manager, but due to circumstances, was a temporary hold until my manager was available. It was getting to a point where it felt like she was bullying me, and if I didn't do what she asked, she would hold that over my head and threaten me. When I had informed Jessica, it had taken over a week and half before they got back to me! & the only reason why they got back to me was because I sent 2 emails and had called multiple times, and eventually left a voicemail. In addition, when I told her about the situation, she made me feel as if I was making a bigger deal out of it than it was... What they say about this agency is true. My LinkedIn says I'm open to new opportunities as far as discussions. The recruiter found me. Messaged me. We agreed to a time to discuss his role. He was 5 minutes late calling. We had a great conversation even though it was a tad rushed. The recruiter scheduled a FaceTime meeting with me at 5pm on a Friday, the next day. I already had plans but I pushed them back. Guess who waited and waited to not be contacted? Me. Now it's Tuesday and nothing. Save your time and if this agency contacts you, steer clear. Their communication with regards to following up is terrible. If I had been contacted to explain why the time was missed or rescheduled, this review wouldn't exist. Highly unprofessional. read more

If you ever find yourself needing temp work, or possibly a contract position, don't ever use Office Team. When I first moved to Austin I was out of work, and thought I would try this place out while I was in between jobs. After my first visit I was positive that I would be working within a week......... wrong. I never heard from them after my first visit, I just fell through the cracks of their disorganized business. When I called to ask why I hadn't heard back on any positions, they told me that they couldn't get a hold of my references. After a call to my references I was informed that they never called them. Hmmmmmm, no wonder! Each time I called I had to wait for the newest employee (they seem to have more turnover here than a McDonald's) to get familiar with my file. Eventually, I just stopped calling. To this day I have never received a call, or email from Office Team. Its not because I am unskilled, or don't meet an qualifications, its because they are unprofessional. I sometimes wish Yelp had a zero star rating. If you find yourself needing a temp or contract job then good luck, because Austin does not have any good services.... but Office Team is one of the worst. read more

I'd say the biggest problem with expecting work from an OfficeTeam in Austin is that you're looking for office/admin in a techie town. However, sadly, that's not the case. These people refused to call the 6 references I gave them (I know because after a month of calling OT, I gave up and called my references to ask them) and then freudian slipped that they weren't even paying attention during the interview process! Now, I'm used to dealing with bad customer service from temp agencies since I used to temp in New York, but not using your own company as a reference? That's low. Since "temp agencies are not examples of relevant experience" (mind you, you're applying at a temp agency and are told this), OfficeTeam refuses to acknowledge OfficeTeam, you're left with 11 other agencies in a town with zero work. I waited a year and waded through minimum wage jobs and awful stints at hotels and called them back to set up an interview, this time as a new person since they'd obviously forgotten about me. However, they referred me to the same person who refused to give me work and, this time, she demanded 6-9 outstanding recent references. Ask yourself this: if you have 9 outstanding references, do you really need work or money? Better yet, if you have that many references in a recent time period, do you expect anyone to be confident about your ability to stay at one job for a long time. Granted, in Austin, if you don't want to be buried without ceremony in the world's most expensive shanty town, getting 10 minimum wage jobs in a year is your only option, but eventually you realize how useless and degrading this whole process is and you flip off the OfficeTeam main building on your way to moving out of this town for good. People like this who refuse you the work you need are the no. 1 reason you should never look back, but in a town with nothing but useless agencies, a rude, incompetent staff makes OfficeTeam the worst one by far. read more

My only regret regarding this review is that I can't rate it a 0. The company found me a temp to perm position quickly, thus we both started making money within a week. Problem is, I made it very clear that I wanted temp to perm, as I need benefits. When it turned out the position was not in fact temp to perm, but temp, they refused to look for a temp to perm, which is what I was initially clear about. I was clear about this for a reason - I was making almost as much on unemployment as the new position was paying me. Thus I could have sat there and did nothing, and had the same check. My purpose in finding employment was not for the check, but for the future. If there was no future there, I needed to find a place that would have one. Nonetheless, I stuck it out at the employer hoping for the best. Several months later, the company decided to lay off all of their employees including myself and move the positions out of state. Knowing this, I contacted the agency again, and was stonewalled AGAIN - they won't look until my assignment is over. OR, I can put in a weeks notice and they'll look. of course, if I put in notice, and they don't find anything, then I can't even file for unemployment. I explained that my current employer, if it were there choice, they'd lay us off now. they were giving some advanced notice as courtesy. Nothing - no cooperation. Fast forward - my assignment ends on a Friday. They send me to an interview on Monday. During the interview, I ask the new employer what their intent is with the temp to perm position, as I don't want to go through what I went through again, and also wanted to see if the agency was lying to me. Logical, right? After the interview, they contact officeteam, ask them about my last assignment, and inform them of my questions regarding the temp to perm status of the position. Office team then calls me and tells me that they're not going to look for positions for me, and i'm not a good "fit" for them. After making them a TON of money over the year, they basically fired me because I asked the employer about their intent to hire. Officeteam is a joke. Their internal employees changed completely 3 times in the past 12 months - I see why. They have made it clear to me that they have no intention on being honest with their employees, and actually filling the employees needs. I don't know if this is the company as a whole, or their lack of proper guidance locally, but the Austin office location is to be avoided at all costs. You're much better off going to Volt, Express, or any other agency out there. There's good reason that every one of their reviews here are 1 star. read more

I can't even find the words to describe Meredith Parker (my recruiter). This woman is beyond AMAZING!!! I was interested in relocating to the Austin/Round Rock area, so I started looking one day for jobs and literally a couple of days later, I was doing a Skype interview with Meredith. I am a recent Accounting graduate, with little experience working in the Accounting field (less than 1 year). There was a client that Meredith was working with who needed an Accounting clerk with 3-5 years of experience. Meredith assured me that she would do everything that she possibly could to get me in front of this client, even though I didn't have all of the experience they were looking for. Meredith sent me two Accounting skills assessments to take; being that I was an honor graduate from my college, she knew that I knew accounting, but she wanted to prove this to her client. So basically, she let them know that, though I didn't have all the experience that they were looking for, I DID have all of the knowledge. I passed all the assessments with "flying colors" (as Meredith said), and she submitted the results to the client and used this to make up for my lack of 3 years experience. Sure enough, the client wanted to interview me (face to face) that next week on a Tuesday, along with 5 other potential candidates. Of course I was very nervous, being that I was certain that someone else would most likely have more experience than I. To my surprise Meredith called me back stating that the client wanted a second interview, but this time, with the COO of the company! TWO DAYS LATER, Meredith called me and informed me that the client chose me!!! How often in life, do you look for a career change while relocating to a new city, and land a job within TWO WEEKS of looking?? Never!!! Meredith went above and beyond my expectations to assist me in finding a job, and I cannot thank her or Robert Half enough! To begin with, OfficeTeam is no longer conveniently located in Downtown Austin. It is located very far to the north, almost to Cedar Park. There is so much to write about OfficeTeam, all of which is negative. I thought it would be best to let folks looking for work to NEVER use this agency. Like the other reviews stated, you will NOT be put into an admin spot (even though they post lots of open admin positions). You will be stuck in a call center making sales calls, but not making any commission from the calls. Don't fall into their trap! The OfficeTeam staff has changed 3 times since 2/10, but they fail to notify you about that. So, again, just like the other reviews the staff has no idea who you are. They are also quite rude, very incompetent, and ignore you almost completely unless they receive a blitzkrieg-style bombarding of calls & emails. Simply do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVEN BOTHER using this supposed staffing agency. You can find a job faster, and one that you will actually want, on your own. If there was a negative rating, I'd have given that. read more

Charlatans like this post jobs - when I respond that I am interested in a certain job, I never get an interview or job offer. Shame on them. What will they do when they have major family obligations and need to choose between family or work? I chose to leave employment for awhile while my husband was in the military and I had special needs children and elderly mother who couldn't care for herself. I moved to the Austin area in 2004 and started to "use" Robert Half in 2005. I have tried using them off and on ever since, but not one time have they ever said they have a position they want me to interview for. When I moved here I carried two Top Secret clearances. Did it help? No. I have an MBA. Does it help? No. I am over 40. Does it help? It probably is considered a liability. I submitted an application to the Dayton RH office for a position to try to move there, and in the two weeks that I submitted it, I have not been contacted even though I was highly qualified for the position. There was not even an acknowledgment of receipt of my resume. In the mean time, I have had a half dozen agencies get me positions, including agencies that even called me up when I didn't apply. Avoid Robert Half and save yourself some aggravation. read more

I applied online and submitted my paperwork, but the position was already filled. I went through the interview and evaluation process online and through Skype. I never even went into the office. Two weeks later on a Friday afternoon, I get a phone call from Lindsay Kedy. There is a job that they would like to send me out to interview on. Phone interview on Monday...working in-house interview on Tuesday...meet with the owner on Wednesday...started my temp work on Thursday. OUTSTANDING! In fact...the process went so fast that I never got the chance to meet with them to finish my "employee paperwork." Angela Dildine worked with me to get that set up quickly...then she, Lindsay and Claudia Carrasco have kept in touch with me to ensure that the process was going well, and to see if I had an questions or concerns. They have always been right there...professional, and prompt. Now...I'm going to be a permanent employee at my temp assignment. They will bring you in, interview you, test you, and put you in the back of the pile. When I got to my assignment, the office manager described a job that was much different than what the agency told me. I concur, they don't seem to read your file or know who you are before they call you. When it came down to making my final decision for positions, my best two offers, once all the interviewing was said and done, were from a start up company in Austin and a larger tech company out of San Antonio that Robert Half presented to me. I was surprised because I thought that I would definitely choose an Austin position over commuting out of the city, but it turns out I am really happy with the position that Robert Half brought to me because it was the best overall choice for my career; I am growing a lot in my field, I have great coworkers, and I am very happy with the compensation. Now I don't think that I would have even considered the position if it weren't for the work that John Henry, my Robert Half recruiter, put into getting me in front of hiring managers for interviews. When it came down to it, I just wanted to be able to get in front of other developers who were hiring and show them what I could do and convince them that I was the best person for the role, and John Henry did just that for me. Throughout the process he was very attentive and comfortable to speak to and I felt like he was working hard to get me in for interviews. Overall feedback for people thinking about working with Robert Half: You still have to keep looking for a job on your own, but Robert Half is a great resource that can help you find a position with a great company that you might not have access to otherwise. I set up the appointment and met with Tate, who is a doll. Not literally, she's just super sweet. After that, my online assessments were sent to me for completion. The same day, I got offered a position elsewhere, which I took. I didn't finish my assessment. So, I leave this other job because it wasn't a good fit for me. Called Kaye, asked her to send me the assessments I didn't finish. After completing them, I was called the next day by Kaye who had a long-term temp contract awaiting me!
