As a job seeker, I really appreciated the friendly staff who greeted me at the front desk. The atmosphere of the office was calm and professional, and several people went out of their way to make sure I felt welcome. When you're stressed with looking for work, those types of things are memorable. The registration process was similar to other staffing firms. I liked that the application/paperwork was up-to-date and minimal compared to similar companies I'd visited. The paperwork, interview and testing took me about 1.5 hours to complete. I first met the staff at a Job fair organized by the Texas Workforce Commission. Peak Performers had a table at the event and I introduced myself while providing a resume. Although this was not an IT specific event, I was informed I could work with Renee Holder and that my resume would be passed along. A few days later I got a call from Renee and we discussed the opportunities and requirements of working with Peak Performers. It wasn't long after I completed the paperwork that we had a handful of opportunities to discuss. This led to placement at a month long project with ERS. My experience was excellent at ERS and I was a good fit for the project. Staying busy, I was able to complete the project a week early and I moved on to another assignment right after. The impression this experience left me with was very good. I felt like the opportunities we looked at were a good match in general and a good place to start. I also felt that these were opportunities that I would otherwise not been able to access. I appreciated the fact that personal disability was an advantage, taken into consideration as well as opening the doors to placement. I have since moved to a permanent job with another state agency. For me, the time I spent with Renee at Peak Performers prepared me for this. I'm really appreciative of the service they provide! If I need help again in the future I will be talking to them. I was working with recruiters at three other agencies in the private sector during the same time and had been unemployed for nearly a year. For what it's worth, Peak Performers got me working again. Two years ago, I accepted a position with a state agency for a six month contract. With help from the staff at Peak Performers I was able to get that project extended for 2 years. i moved to austin recently (mid-june) and was overwhelmed by the prospect of finding employment. i saw a listing on the TWC website for a data entry postion that paid pretty good. i was kind of skeptical at first, but proceeded to go to the job fair. two weeks later, i find out that i was selected for the job (along with 64 others) and started a job with the state (after a background check and fingerprinting). when that job was over (5 week job), i called in for three days before i got an offer for another position (two week job) and the the day that THAT job ended, i got an offer to return to the original job. i really like all the staff that i've encountered (esp. Mai) they've all been so helpful and caring and professional. sorry about this review being one huge run-on sentence, but i'm watching tv and doing other stuff, lol) update: it is now 03/08/11 and I was actually hired by the dept that I was placed in, so woohoo, peak performers! thanks so much! read more

Ummm no, they don't like you unless you actually waste time at the job sites which they DO place you at. These ladies hold productivity against the people they actually do place--as in they release you from the company. And then they lie their tail off at the other places which you later DO work at. They'll actually give your employers false information about you. This is above and beyond even what Austin's other 'bad' temp agencies do. They don't just not return calls--or loose the files containing your info at their agency. They'll proactively work to get you fired at subsequent jobs. I already wrote a review. For an agency that claims to want to help people with a disability get jobs they do not make reasonable accommodation. I went there a couple of weeks ago you have to fill out their application in writing instead of being able to download and type it in. My hand writing is not that great because my hand cramps, and I have arthritis in my hands and legs. So, I am not anxious to go back. I find it curous that they say they give priority to individuals with disabilities and yet you have to write out these applications and I nine forms and etc. I was on their rolls years ago but did not get work mainly because I worked in other jobs. Again I find it curious that they do not accommodate to individuals they claim they give priority to, howeverI Goodwill does the same. You would think that a staffing company who deals primarily with clerical workers would have a way for someone to type in their application and ids to get aboard. I know restaurant make you write it out it is just strange. I just do not feel like going back. They may be a good agency. But, I feel I got off on the wrong foot with them. And do not want to go back. I might add even though Peak Performer states they give people with disabilities work. The fact is that most of their jobs are from the state and the state wants workers they considered "job ready" whatever that means to them. And a lot of jobs want workers who can multi-task do two things at once even though I really do not think that happens. But they may wants some who can answered a switchboard and enter data at the same time. The reality is no one can do two things at once they may go from one task to another quickly. But, they really do not do two things at once. The bottom line is the state wants fast workers handicapped or not. read more

Just as Gloria said. If you are actually productive and finish your work ahead of time, you will be disregarded for future employment opportunities. You are also required to swallow your pride and humanity when talking to agents at Peak Performers as they will treat you like third class citizens. When I call any place of business I would never expect to be addressed with a sarcastic, "Oh. It's you...yay...." Not professional at all! Also the job I have now has helped me on the road to get a permanent position with the state. Peak will help you get in the door and give you the opportunities to gain state experience in the area that you are working in. The project that I am working on just got extended and I have no doubt that if it ends before I find a permanent position that Peak will have my back and get me placed again very soon. I actually got 8 months with the State of Texas working with Peak, pay was only $12.00 hr but most of their jobs only pay $10.00 or so. It might be what the State of Texas only wants to pay. They have not had any work for almost 2 years now, I no longer call them. Did check to see if eligible for re-hire and they said yes, but I always hear "Things are slow", could be as the state has cut back on workers. You have to be disabled to work there, I have a bad leg. Would have rated them higher if they had sent me out on another job. read more

Don't bother! They have no grasp of even basic customer service. I wasted three weeks calling in every day with absolutely no response - not even a "check in." This agency has been so great to me. Not only did they find me a job right away but they were actually concerned with what kind of environment would make me the most comfortable in. I say that because I am a mature woman and had a little trepidation on finding a job where I felt like I fit in...well, I am telling you, they found me great jobs with a mixture of age groups in the environment and I felt like family at every one of the jobs I was placed. They weren't just trying to stick me anywhere, they actually cared???
