Brian and his team installed a paver patio for us, replacing a dilapidated wood deck. My only regret is that we didn't do it sooner! The team was very conscientious during the whole process, boarding up neighboring trees to protect them. Cleaning up after the installation, so you can't even tell that they were there. I'm writing this after spending a lot of money with Peak Landscaping a few years ago. Their name popped up when I was looking for a company to fix the irrigation they installed. It has been nothing but trouble since installation. Overall, the hardscape work Peak did looks great. Now thinking about it, it was terribly expensive (2x what I should have paid), and Brian was not a nice guy to deal with. I felt like it was such a money grab. Yes, he did threaten not to finish the job when we questioned the costs. Go else where. read more

Have gone through many landscaping companies since we bought in Tahoe and all have disappointed, whether it be communication, timing, or quality of work. No such problems with Peak. Great service. I have been trying to get Brian to give me an estimate for a pretty straight forward job in Truckee since June 2019. It's now early August and I have yet to see him. When we discussed the job over the phone in June I thought end of June was unlikely, but from our conversation I though mid-July was possible. July came and went. More phone calls and the date kept slipping further and further back. In our last conversation we were looking at some time in September. What happened? Am I being bumped for other projects that came up, or is this just really bad time management? I don't know. What do know is that if a professional does not have the time to do something, he says so, and does not string people along. I've lost 2 months of time on this project and am now scrambling to find someone else who will either commit or tell me they can't do it read more

I can't comment on their work or value, just their customer service. I called for an estimate the 2nd week of July and a lady answered the phone (A+). She took down my contact information, location for requested work and description of work I wanted done. She said her husband would have to contact me for the estimate and scheduling. Great, I thought. 6 weeks later and nothing, no calls, texts or site visit (F-). If you're too busy to do a small job (defensible space work and a small flagstone patio) or you're booked solid, I get it. However just tell me if the job is too small or if you're booked for the season, I totally respect that (in-fact I gave a roofer a 5 star rating because he called me on a Saturday during 4th of July weekend to tell me he was booked for the season and to look for someone else.) Don't waste time my time by either not calling back or stringing me along knowing you can't get to me unless you get a cancelation or a late snow/freeze. Unfortunately, failure to call back or regularly communicate with customers seems to be the norm for contractors in Truckee. Fortunately, I have learned to call several contractors until I get one. In this case another landscaper gave me a bid and completed my defensible space work 5 days after I called him (6 days after I had called Peak). His patio estimate ended up outside of my budget. read more

Always come back to Brian and Peak. Redid my patio and walkway last year, fixed a drainage problem promptly, installed lawns in front and back with irrigation. This crew is professional, clean, easy to communicate with, and on time and budget. I am hiring them again for a patio extension and hot tub addition. read more

We hired Peak Landscaping to build a fence for your property. We put down a deposit in the fall and agreed on a timeline. In the spring, after requesting some minor changes to the positioning of the fence (on our neighbor's request), Brian threatened to pull out of the job entirely. His crew constructed the fence only after we agreed to pay quite a bit extra for what amounted to an extra hour of their time to change the layout. While the fence construction was excellent, the staining was sloppy as they stained our neighbor's plants. He then competent ghosted on a previously discussed plan to stain our deck. Overall I'm disappointed in his lack of professionalism and cannot recommend his company. read more

Just a short review to give my experience. After having a landscape installed by another contractor (they are the biggest in town, used them based on a slightly lower price and promises of fast completion....unkept promises btw!), I had Peak complete the job. Unfortunately, much of what the other contractor installed had to be redone. Peak obviously knew how to properly install all of the irrigation, pavers, lighting, and plants. Unlike the overcharges by the other company (on stuff I never requested!), Peak stuck to the estimate and finished promptly. They even returned when I called for a plant warranty a year later. They were not the cheapest on the original bid but since there were no extras and the warranty is great I really wish I had used them to begin with (would have saved considerable money). Trust your instincts and use the contractor you feel the most comfortable with. read more

Our overall experience with Peak Landscaping was great from beginning to end with our back yard project. We already had a nice backyard but lacked usable living space.. Brian from Peak walked us thru the proposal giving us great ideas on how to maximize usable space. His knowledge was an asset and he created a flow in our backyard that we hadn't even considered He made an extra suggestion to add a privacy fence and new gate up front, again, this is something we never even thought of and we are so happy with it. We got the estimate and a timeline which both proved to be on the mark, Work was started and finished when promised and there were no surprises when we received the invoice. All of the workers were very professional and courteous. At the end of each day the yard was put back to normal as much as it could be. We have a fenced yard and that had to be removed for the excavator to come in, But each day after they finished a temporary fence was put up to keep our dogs and cats in the yard. The finished patio is awesome, we are able to enjoy our yard so much more and we could not be more pleased with the results!! read more

I needed some trees removed for defensible space ( fire prevention ) . Brian happened to across the street working on another yard , came over and gave me a quote on the spot . Terrible landscaping. Looked ok the first year but after that, the plants and lawn began to deteriorate due to poor soil preparation and the inferior sprinkler system they installed. Many of the plants and the lawn have failed to thrive and grow even though I have religiously watered and fertilized per recommendations of the local nursery. I would certainly recommend staying away for these amateurs if you are needing real landscaping done. read more
