The only decent place to get a good breakfast in the Ville. This location is much nicer than the other location on the south loop. The south loop location is where all the drunk college kids go after parties since it's open 24/7. This location is not. This location has the same menu as the other one though. As for breakfast, you will get your normal eggs, meat, and carbs. Nothing special like stuffed French toast just the basics. It is more of a old diner style where they call you babe and sweetie. Stopped in late night for a breakfast craving and got a very basic breakfast platter. I'm a bit of a breakfast nerd so I tend to be picky about things like texture of eggs and hash browns. This is not a bad restaurant if you are just looking for breakfast or a burger. Nothing exceptional, but for cheap eats, they do a good job. The coffee is usually fresh and good and the refills keep on coming. Definitely a "locals" kind of hangout. If you go there for lunch, you are likely to see the same people over and over. Standard American breakfast and hot coffee with free refills. What else do you need? Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but I like the Kibbles-n-Bits. They also have free WiFi, so this makes a great study spot. There are two locations - one on the north side of town and one on the south side. The one on the south side is open 24 hours. read more

Great little diner! We stopped for lunch on our way back to Oklahoma. (About 2:00pm) I had the taco salad and my husband had the BLT. Both we very good. Service was good. Was nice to see they serve breakfast all day. We will definitely return. read more

Usually not a fan of small town restaurants....But my boyfriend dragged me in early one cold Sunday morning. Sat at the "counter" and drank coffee while waiting on our to go order. Staff was uber friendly atmosphere was delightful. Best of all the grits here are....well they were almost as good as my grandma's! read more

I loved coming here while I was a TSU student. It is one of the better places to eat when you are in town. They are open 24 hrs which is great for a college town. The food is pretty good no matter what time of the day it is. It was an especially great place to eat when you are getting of work at 11 at night. I miss this place. read more

we live in Weatherford and drive to eat there maybe 2 times a week. The service is GREAT and everyone is very friendly. The staff are very hard workers and they work their backends off but I hope the owners of Peacocks show appreciation for the great staff they have. This was the 3rd time I've eaten at this restaurant, the first two occasions the food was fine and the service very good. My 3rd visit was nothing like the first two. From the time we sat down until the time we left was an hour and fifteen minute ordeal. After a 10 minute sit and wait, the server brought the coffee. It was 20 more minutes until she returned for a re-top and then waited another 5 minutes before taking our order. I ordered pancakes and biscuits and gravy. I ordered the pancakes brown, and when they arrived they were not anywhere near cooked adequately, in fact there was still goo in the middle from lack of cooking. The gravy was bland and tasteless, and the buscuits were cold. To make matters worse, the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible, and it was kind of a nerve racking experience just sitting there waiting for the food, or the coffee or even for the ticket to pay. It was very busy, since it was a weekend, but found a booth for our party right away. Coffee was weak, but breakfast was good ( but we were starving!). The waitress brought our food, and refilled our coffee, but knocked over my cup and spilled hot coffee on my lap! Was painful, she apologized, and gave me a wet rag. I went to the restroom to try to stop the burning, and came back to eat my cold breakfast. Nobody else from the restaurant seemed to care, still had to pay for my cold breakfast, and coffee! read more

The food is fresh and excellent. I've tried nearly every style egg and they've never screwed it up. The pancakes are excellent. Try the kibbles and bits. My only criticism is that it's a bit expensive. Great place if you've got the cash. read more

My family and I used to frequent this diner, they do have good affordable food. But our last visit will be our last ever. My 6yr old son has food allergy to dairy, we asked if they could make his hashbrowns w/o butter and they flat out refused! After the waitress took our order she was gone about 15 minutes then came back and said they were too busy to accommodate us. She didn't say we could wait a bit till they could squeeze us in, she didn't offer any other solution. Just, we can't fix his food w/o butter cuz we are too busy.. Found this place on yelp while working off lingleville. Wow, great find! Service was excellent & food was great! Best thing they serve breakfast all day. Evidently have 2 locations here & other location is open 24 hrs. Our server said this location had recently started staying open for dinner. We were passing through on one of our weekend meanders and decided to stop in. What a wonderful surprise! We were greeted by a personable brunette who took our order, saw to our needs, and made sure we felt at home. I ordered the chicken fried steak, my wife ordered the chicken tenders. A potato, toast, and salad were included with both. We chose the fries. The tenders lived up to their name in grand style, the fries were perfect, and the gravy was a true delight. Often, gravy is a thin mix with minimum flavor. This was a thick gravy with a delicate taste. It added a dimension to the meal. The entire meal was a delight, made better by attentive service. The atmosphere was also a bonus. No blaring music, and a minimum of noise in general. We'll definitely eat here whenever we're in town. read more

Who doesn't love peacocks in stephenville? Easily the best breakfast available. I've never ordered anything that wasn't absolutely delicious there, love the kibbles and bits (sounds gross, but you'll be glad you tried it). The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the fact that they charge for every little thing. When it comes right down to it, I'm willing to pay a little extra for excellent food. I can't say enough food things about this place. We were in Stephenville for a track meet at Tarleton,and this place for us off to GREAT day! Very clean,excellent wait staff and the FOOD...just like eating the best homecooked breakfast you can imagine-without the cleanup afterward! Breakfast specials are awesome-we are a family of 3 and ate for less than $20(that includes out coffee and the 5 yr old's juice) you can't go to Stephenville without checking this place out!!! read more

You have to try the pecan waffles they are awesome. And the eggs are perfect. Sometime they don't give you enough hash browns.

It's not the food that I dislike about Peacocks. It's the service. My nephew has several food allergies and finding food at restaurants he can eat often takes a little help from the kitchen. Peacocks however, said they were 'too busy' to make a 6 year old some egg yolk scrambled eggs this morning. My nephew could have waited a little longer for his food and my family wouldn't have minded paying extra. We've never ever had a restaurant refuse to make simple accommodations for a little boy who already feels disadvantaged because there are so many things he can't eat that other children can. Would it have really taken that much longer to make the eggs with out the whites? I am seriously disappointed in Peacocks. read more
