Okay, I have never graded a restaurant on their cleanliness but here we go…read more Yes, we did eat here today and it was frightening honestly. We walked in and over to a booth... the table appeared clean but the seats had food left in them for ... well I'm not sure how long. Moved to another booth that the guy way "wiping down" with a wet dirty rag and no cleaner. Yes, I am aware that some restaurants soak towels for this purpose, but I promise this was not the case. He did not wipe down the seats, but the food on the seat was to my right and there really was no other option, since all the chairs at the tables had hand prints on the top of the chairs and black dirt on the legs of the chairs. I informed the waitress that she might want to remind her bus boy that he should wipe down the seats. She apologized and I hope she passed on the information. While sitting there, I became more uncomfortable. Food on the walls. Air vents were black, like the AC filter has never been changed. I observed people behind the counter on an "ice rink of grease" sliding all around. The floors in the restaurant haven't been cleaned in days. It was 10 am, no way could they look like that from just a few hours. The grill has not been cleaned in well, it's been a while.... See photos, the aluminum wall guard was swiped at. But the controls on the grill were just nasty Waitresses were eating and drinking behind the counter, in front of customers. I didn't get to the restrooms, but if they are anything like the rest of the restaurant..... Coffee was as far as I wanted to go here. But my mom wanted to eat. So we ordered a burger and a steak sandwich. 40.00 plus tip. Food was subpar. Does were cold. Burger was not great. Mom liked her steak sandwich. Would I recommend this place. Absolutely NOT. We will not be going back. A giant waste of money.

Another great breakfast, thank you Peacocks!! Best place in town…read more Food and Service A++++

Cooking pits didn't seem to be very active and the incinerator (burns mesquite down to coals) didn't either. Made me wonder if they haven't switched over to covert rotisserie pits like Cooper's. Sure hope not. Anyhow, I got half lb lean brisket and 2 pork ribs. I grew up eating this style of q and this had that same 'fat dripping into the fire' flavor that all Llano-style q has. I used to love it. I mean, really love it. Now, to me, it's just ok. H8 did a very good job executing this style of q, but I believe the direct cooking flavor is inferior to a well run, clean burning offset. The fat sizzle flavor hit me more as an off note than 'Ah yeah, Llano q'. Also, Llano-style q is heavy on the salt. I guess my taste buds have grown up. Also, the H8 sauce is NOT traditional Llano thin ketchup vinegar style dip. On 2nd thought, if the meat was cooked direct over coals, the better option might have been to go for the pulled pork, ala North Carolina style. But, this is Texas, after all.

Wings were raw, disgusting, slimy. The batter they use was still raw. 3:05 Bartender (not my waitress) delivers tab explaining the waitress was getting off shift. Tab was wrong. Was charged for 3 16 oz beers and boneless wings. I paid it just to end the fiasco. Beer empty for 30 mins, bartender ignores me like the plague. I ask for new beer and bring up my wings to show that they were raw. Bartender cuts me off. No more beer. Been there for 3 hours. Paid for 8oz more beer than I was served and a plate of inedible food. Who is the looser here. The best way to describe this establishment is ignorant and self entitled. That bartender has no business being behind the bar let alone serving customers. It was actually pretty pathetic. P.S. I have a speech impediment, (I stutter really bad) maybe you should have got to know me before you judged me. I was there to enjoy myself, instead I was treated like garbage while giving your establishment my money. Fix yourself, it's pathetic.

They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice but we chose to sit inside because it was pretty chilly out side. When you go in there is a menu board directly in front of you and you place your order at the register. I placed our order for crab, shrimp, and crawfish for me and my husband, and chicken strips for our daughter. We took a seat and waited. When our order came out we were slightly underwhelmed by the crab clusters. They were $12.99 each and extremely small. Unfortunately they were also overcooked and the shells wouldn't crack, just bend. We moved on to the crawfish and the first impression was that they were okayish. Most of them were cold and overcooked as well. There was a good spice level but not a lot of flavor in the crawfish themselves. We realized that they forgot to give us our shrimp so my husband asked the girl at the register and they brought them out super quick. The shrimp were the best thing we had! They were hot when they came out and cooked perfectly! We had other items as well; corn, boiled potatoes, and sausage. The corn and potatoes were okay, just overcooked and the sausage wasn't anything special. Just sausage. My daughter did say that she enjoyed the chicken and fries that she had and she would order them again. All in all it was a disappointing experience. Our meal was $120 and not worth it. Like I told my husband, if it had been half the price it might have been easier to swallow. Right before we left an employee asked my husband how things were and he explained what the main issues were, she received the complaint and offered to bring out more crawfish but my husband declined as we were about to leave. I hope this was just an off night and not a common occurrence.

The ribeye was perfectly cooked, tender and perfectly seasoned. My wife always gets the chicken fried steak. It's a huge meal and a heck of a deal. I can honestly say that Newton's bread pudding is the best bread pudding I have ever had and is one of my favorite desserts. I follow their social media and I always see their burger Tuesday's. We happened to be passing through and decided to stop in. Carlos was our server and he was on top of things and he offered great customer service. I got the triple meat smash burger with grilled jalapeños and bacon added. My wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich. They were both tasty. I would definitely stop by again for their burgers but their steaks are still my go to. And of course we had to finish our meals with a bread pudding!!
