We took an overnight trip from FTW to stay at the Interstate Inn and dine here at Chef Pyle's new…read morerestaurant. The restaurant is lovely as you can see from my pics. We were seated at one the booths for two along the wall overlooking the open kitchen. I intended to order a Manhattan but upon discovering they're pouring Gallo vermouth decided on a Maker's Old Fashioned which was nicely done. Anne went with a glass of an Italian Pinot Grigio. I ordered that as well with my entree. We started with the shrimp ceviche. This is a unique rendering of the dish and quite enjoyable. The portion, however, was surprisingly and remarkably small for $17 even by upscale FTW/Dallas restaurant comparisons. The Caesar salad presentation here is so creative. See my pic. The dressed whole Romaine leaves are arranged in a toasted Parmesan cylinder which you crush up, slicing the leaves yourself to mix. The dressing is excellent. Again the portion is small, especially to share. But the price point is reasonable at just $10. We both opted for the grilled quail. This was the star of the show. The quail were nicely seasoned and perfectly grilled. The mound of crisp, fresh Arugula sang with the most perfect Arugula enhancing vinaigrette we have ever tasted. The poached pear, compressed beets, and seasoned walnuts all complimented so perfectly these grilled birds. So good. If we were locals this would become a regular destination for.

The CFS that I saw on other tables did look really good, ngl. The decor is really cool. There's a 70s/Once Upon A Time in Hollywood vibe going on for sure. Would recommend and will return.

The experience starts with the hostesses who seem to think they are working in a Michelin starred establishment. Then the disappointment moves into the dining experience. Poorly cut steaks, and items you'd find in a Cotton Patch cafe. All at a price point that screams "we are in a hotel in Granbury who thinks it is the Beverly Hilton, just minus the money, service, and accoutrements." The difference being that the restaurants in Beverly Hills actually live up to the expectations, and even they aren't so full of themselves. The experience does not even come close to living up to its price and value proposition. Save yourself the time and drive into Fort Worth or Dallas to dine at a nicer establishment that's worth the money and more in-line with the advertised expectation. Christina's: "A little restaurant trying so hard to be something it's not capable of being."

I'm always expected to be let down because it is soooo good every time coke here. Everything is still great. Talked my friend into meeting here and he was blown away with how great it was. I forgot to take a picture this time. My friend is not a leftover person, but he took his leftover steak fingers with him and also ordered slice of buttermilk pie to go. Our waitress was a sweetheart. I forgot her name, believe short young lady with black hair. Forgive me for not remembering her name, but she was wonderful and very helpful for any questions my friend had. Did notice someone ordered I believe cheese curds and did not know they had these. I will try to remember this next time I'm here. I will always update this place every-time I come here. Thanks for the greasy food.

I travel to Abilene somewhat often for business, in and out same day. I'm usually coming through…read morethe area of this restaurant in the morning, and back by again around lunchtime. And I usually stop at the place across the highway. Today I decided to check out New York Hill and I was glad I did. The ambience is like being in a house that had its living room converted to a dining room- which it may very well have been. I'm not sure. Regardless, there are booths and tables, and a nice view to the north. All good. I was greeted by a nice young lady who took my drink order (coffee) and brought a menu. I liked they served the coffee in a thermal mug as it stayed hot! The menu was extensive, plate lunches, burgers, sandwiches, salads... a bit of everything. The dishes were typical of what we call "home cooking" around these parts. I ordered the Texas Sizzler- a chop steak with onions and jalapeños, smothered in melted cheese. It was quite delicious, and since we just had our first cold snap for the fall, it really hit the spot as a dish that will warm you up. The salad that came with the meal was very good, and had a nice chunky blue cheese dressing. Crinkle cut sweet potato's fries were good, as was the pinto beans. There are lots of other sides to choose from. Overall, everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and they. Checked on me often. Bottom line is I will be back to try some of their other offerings.
