Came here recently with the fam since I'm visiting them from Hawaii. We don't have many bbq places. I definitely prefer hard 8 near by. This place has young ones that have that typical i don't wanna be here attitude. No greeting, just glares. Meat was good, corn bread salad was gross. Sopapilla cheesecake was pretty good. The counter staff are extremely pleasant and polite. The ribs don't fall off the bone, but come away easily as the should. The chicken is moist and well seasoned, and the brisket is tender and tasty. This is my go to bbq place. The Owners are the nicest people who are genuine people that truly love BBQ and their customers. Their employees are all so nice and accommodating. I have never had a bad thing from this place. I love a chopped beef sandwich and it's always spot on. My boyfriend loves the Bean Bowl which I sneak some bites of, and it's everything that you crave when you want BBQ in one bowl. The salad bar is so nice to have and love their desserts. read more

We visited R&R over the weekend I have to say this was WAY better than the Pit up the road. My Daughter and I had the brisket and my wife had ribs. The brisket was a little dry I thought, but good flavor. My wife liked the ribs, meat fell off the bone. The bbq sauce was a little vinegary The potato salad was very good. If I could give this place NO stars I would! They say that they make their potato salad fresh, which they may very well do, but it sure doesn't taste like it, plus, they put WAY to much mustard in it. Don't even get me started on the crap they want to call BBQ! It was dry and even my 13 year old daughter who will literally eat anything, (loves chocolate covered crickets) and even she spit it out! Had for the first time tonight. Was actually on the way to Hard Eight when R&R caught my eye and I remembered that I had promised myself that I'd try it sometime. I got the 2 meat plate (basket) with brisket and ribs and beans/potato salad for sides. With a small drink, the total was $10.50 which was fair. Brisket looked very lean and dry until I actually put a fork on it and it totally came apart. VERY tender and even moist -- excellent! The sauce is a sweet variety and very traditional tasting. Ribs were a tad dry but tasted great. Meat came right off the bone and was cooked perfectly. I could taste a bit of smoke on them but it wasn't too bad. One thing I did notice about the meats is that they don't have the char crust that most places have. They must cook them covered up which isn't bad - just another take. Potato salad was good and traditional. The beans were amazing. Usually sides don't blow your skirt up, but these were some of the best. They have a sweetness to them that blends in perfectly with the pepper/salty seasoning and makes for a unique taste. R&R was very good and I do believe I will be coming here again! If you are a real BBQ connoisseur that enjoys real BBQ like Black's, Pecan Lodge, Lockharts, Kruez, then do not go to this place. This place is average, not the best I ever had. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I order the ribs with beans and potato salad. Both were very bland and the potato salad had a weird flavor that I could not figure out what it was. The ribs were tender, but eh...nothing special. (It's like they boil or bake them first) They did not have any smoke flavor and they do not remove the membrane. R&R BBQ is a great place to eat, walk in and the host was real friendly as I was ordering my food she help out a lot on what to get and the food was just awesome, man it would be nice to have a place like this to enjoy at home. I have only went once, so maybe I am missing something, but I enjoyed it and would definitely return. It was probably not the best BBQ I have ever had in my life, but I think it was definitely one of the best I have had in this area hands down. I got the ribs which were very tender and I really enjoyed the smokiness BBQ sauce. I also tried the jalapeño sausage and it had good flavor. I loved the potato salad as well since I like a mustard based version. The coleslaw was not one of my favorites, but I enjoy a more creamy version as opposed to their tangy. Last thing I tried was the chocolate pie which was very decadent and I would try again. read more

Not enough parking. Had to park at Dollar Store parking lot. They have moved into new/permanent location across from the original stand. Lately tried several times to eat here but wait was too long (Fri evening and new restaurant, understandable). Was able to eat here for dinner tonight (Wed evening). Order is placed at order window. Friendly cashier and order ready quickly (chicken plates). Chicken was pretty bland. Sides served in styrofoam (ala Hard Eight). Sauce is very ordinary. The cook shouldn't touch anything apart from food and clean plates with gloves. I saw him touch the phone, touch something else and on and on with the same gloves. Wearing gloves gives customers sense of cleanliness but in this case that's spreading germs. Those gloves are NOT for protecting your hands from dirt, they're for preventing FOOD CONTAMINATION. read more

Stopped here as I was passing through for lunch around 1 pm on a Wednesday. Ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. I had the potato salad coleslaw for sides. The brisket was tender but had no smoke at all. It tasted like it was done in the oven. The ribs had a hint of the fire starting material in the flavor. I like a lot of mustard in my potato salad but this was saturated in it. So much so that the salad was a very bright yellow color. The coleslaw was a vinegar based slaw and was decent. Our favorite BBQ is pulled pork that has almost no fats. Highly recommend to stop there for BBQ.

This is the cleanest place we have ever eaten in. The people are friendly, and the food is just great. We will eat here often.

Hands down the best BBQ in town. I highly recommend stopping here for BBQ instead of hard eight if you are craving a brisket sandwhich!
