We scheduled Day and Night Plumbing two weeks in advance to handle an urgent repair at our hall rental facility. On the day of the appointment, they called to confirm they were on their way. However, 30 minutes later, they called back to cancel entirely. The reason? They claimed they "just realized" it was too cold and the ground might be frozen. As a professional plumbing company, the weather and ground conditions should have been factored into their schedule long before the actual arrival time. To cancel an urgent job after already being "en route" is unprofessional and left our facility in a difficult position. Very disappointed in their lack of reliability and foresight.

Before I called Jeffrey Plumbing I did a lot of research on what my plumbing issue actually was. I…read morecalled the Town of Amherst Sewer Dept and had them put a camera down the main line and see if they could see what the problem was where my tap came into the main line. It ended up being there was major tree roots imbedded in the clay sewer lines that were originally used when my house was built. Why they would use clay pipes back then is beyond me...they are easily breakable, porous, and almost anything can infiltrate through the joints or breaks in these pipes like tree roots! Thank goodness PVC is used now. Needless to say I got a few estimates and ended up going with Jeffrey Plumbing to do the entire sewer line replacement from the house to the main line which is near the street. They came over and gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done in great detail, they inserted a camera in my line to show me the roots and cracks (basically there was a pen diameter size space of flow that's how many roots were in there), and answered all of my questions (and I ask alot of questions lol). I was highly impressed by the professionalism and honesty of Jeffrey Plumbing from the start. The job was then performed and it was completed in one day! They did a fantastic job! This is a family business and Jeffrey and his sons perform all the work. It's extremely hard to find honest, hardworking, knowledgeable, skilled, competent and straight forward tradesmen these days...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jeffrey Plumbing!

That never happened. They insisted my ductwork was too small and came and put bigger ductwork in. It did not solve the problem as the temperature went up outside. The temperature went up in the house. The air-conditioning was running all day long never shut off. After seven years, the air-conditioning blew the oil i'll cover which I was told by a reputable company because it was too small. That's why that happened. I fought with them. They refused to put a bigger one in. I would never hire them ever again. They do what they wanna do and want you to pay for it. Air conditioner lasted 7 years and I had a 5-year warranty and I paid good money for it and I received junk. They need to listen to the customer and give the customer what they're paying for and what they want and stop arguing with the customer

Of course, we considered some different options, but thankfully, we didn't look any further and decided to stick with Horbett's. After the first experience our feedback was very positive, so why not? The day we called, the person handling our case put us on a waiting list. It sounded serious, but she called us back the next day, and within 30 minutes, a repairman was at our door to take care of the problem. They do a great job with scheduling, so the technicians don't waste their time. The repairman explained everything thoroughly that he was doing, including showing test results etc. during the whole process. Definitely, it was an honest and professional approach to customers. He really checked everything to be sure what the exact issue is with the air conditioning unit. After about an hour, he left. Our house started to feel like a happy place again. "Happy wife, happy life," right? ;) Another heatwave is coming this weekend. Horbett Heating & Cooling did a great job, and thanks for that.

But wanted the whole $250 for the job...asked for $200. I get that he could not do it and maybe a $75-100 "stop" charge was required but double that? For nothing done? Had a sewer line failure in 2023. I wanted to compare quotes but Kevin's said they couldn't come…read moreback for 2 months in that case. No working sewer so I needed it fixed. Kevin's dug it up and 'repaired' it for a lot of money. Now 2 years later it needs to be dug up again. Saw picture of pipe now. They installed the trap backwards and part they 'fixed' is disconnected from the house causing backup again. Called and they didn't call back. Found another company, T-Mark, who will warrant work for 10 years, will pull permits, and have work inspected by town at 2/3 the 'Kevin's' price which included none of that. I'm a fool parted with his money for using Kevin's. 11/18/25 - contacted Kevin's per his response. He says he does warranty his work and is coming out to inspect the issue. If his work is the cause, he says he'll fix it at no charge. He noted they're doing some office reorganizing and apologized for earlier call to them being dropped. 12/1/2025 - updating review to 5 stars. Kevin came out, inspected the area, pointed out on camera how the problem was in a different area than the one he had worked on (I could see on the camera he was correct), but he still agreed to resolve issue at his cost which was about half of the T-Mark quote. They just wrapped up the work and inspection. His warranty on the quote states: "Kevin's Plumbing provides a 10 year warranty on the pipe that we install. The warranty is transferable through the change of ownership of a home and only the remaining portion of the warranty period transfers-the warranty period does not reset in any way upon transfer, and the warranty period begins at the date of work completion and only when paid in full. This warranty may be transferred to future homeowners provided Kevin's Plumbing is notified within 30days of the real estate transfer. There are no other warranties, either expressed or implied, beyond this agreement."

Plumbing gets a 5, cement work 3…read more For the plumbing service I dealt with Ed P. and the work was done by Leo and Joe, who did the complete job in a day. They dug from back downspot to street, laid new piping, added stone by street and backfilled the dirt. Excellent. The cement side was a different issue. I dealt with Ed R. The cement work is subed. When the crew came to dig up the sidewalk I saw on ring camera that they did not remove one of the contracted pads (they were supposed to do 4 pads but only did 3). I contacted Ed R. while they were still at my house. Later that day the three pads were cemented in. That part of sidewalk was well done (even if not all pads were done). A month later a new crew came to dig up the fourth pad, they did mine and the neighbors. Horrible job. They stomped all over my new grass, The new pad near my other ones was too high so they leveled it down the last three inches but you can notice that it's not level, the pads by the grass are sloped down (maybe they didn't pour enough cement), not very smooth surface, and when they cleaned up they did it by my decorative curb (leaving stains on it). Communicaton with Ed R. was lacking.
