Normally I defer to Apple direct for issues like this, I took the recommendation from Apple's site as a solid endorsement and scheduled my visit. I was pleased to find a same-day appointment available and dropped off around noon. I was pleasantly greeted and hung out while they performed a basic diagnostic. When it confirmed only the battery replacement was necessary I took my receipt and headed home. How pleased was I to have a call the next day at 2:00 telling me my computer was ready for pick up! All in all a great experience though I know I can't count on parts always arriving next day. In any case, I'll definitely check here first should I require any more Apple product service. P. S. Yet, somehow I accepted an upfront charge of $533.37 for a new screen at Paradigm. After several days I called to check on the status of my laptop and was told that the new screen was coming from China and it wasn't in yet. This went on for weeks. Finally, in mid January I was told my computer was ready. Yes, the screen was now intact, but new problems arose... Remember in the old days of computers when they told you not to leave a certain picture on your screen too long or it would get etched in? Apparently, someone in China was into anime. Most of my $2,000+ laptop has a screen with barely distinguishable images all over it. The bottom left looks like a phantom cartoon person with astonished eyes and a mouth open in shock. Plus, every so often the screen separates from the backing at the top revealing the lights within. I am able to press it back together. I contacted them in January. No response. I have considered following through with more action, but I really don't want to deal with this company anymore. I have purchased a new laptop and let children use the old one.
