When a retailer lists an item on their site as a backorder costumers have a right to assume they're stocking it. When the costumer emails them, and follows up with a phone call that should indicate interest. I did all of this. When I called Jordan said he'd reach out to his boss to see if they could get 2 of the internal LG Blu-Ray drives I wanted. Jordan also assured me their boss would reply to my email. No email reply, no call back and now the item link, which I know is right since I saved it to my wishlist on their site, shows that the item can't be found. employees were nice. but I don't pay people for nice conversation. I pay them for a service, which PC Station failed to provide. At all. like......not even a little bit. Brought my old sony vaio laptop in for data recovery or to see if someone had a power cord to try turning on the really old laptop. They didn't have a power cord, so i took the laptop apart to take the hard drive out. I also brought in a 2011 iOmega external hard drive. the iomega hard drive powered on, but was not mounting. they took $40 from me , up front, and said that they could recover the files so long as it had not been reformatted or wiped, etc. No one said much beyond that. i have to wait several days for them to "finish" the data recovery, and when I go to pick it up, they say "we got bad news. the hard drive is completely dead." i then ask why they took my 40 bucks. they actually, with a straight face, told me it was because they had to open up the plastic box the external hard drive is encased in. something my 8 year old cousin would do for free. In fact, I had removed the hard drive from my sony vaio laptop quite easily...for free. so not only did they take 40 bucks for no services provided, they then told me they can't recover my sony vaio hard drive because the PC station equipment was faulty and not reliable. Not even joking. at least they were honest, thus preventing the sony hard drive from being damaged. I ended up taking the sony vaio hard drive to a nearby repair shop and for 20 bucks . read more

I just went into this business this afternoon. My laptop kept giving me a message saying I needed to shut down as the fan wasn't working. After they spent at least 15 minutes and couldn't duplicate the problem, there was no charge. We ended up getting a universal laptop power charger since our cord was severely frayed in one area. They did not suggest the purchase. I specifically asked myself. Their suggestion as to why I was getting the error message was spot on, and I no longer have it popping up on my screen. I did read some of the other reviews just now, and they may or may not be true, as is true of any reviews. My input is that we won't go to Best Buy or similar stores for any sort of computer repair. We tried that once and it was a fiasco. I did not wait in line at this store and we were greeted as soon as we entered the store. We will come back when the need arises again. read more

This place is awesome, they sold me a newly made custom gaming PC! It was their competition Series PC, Great fair deal! The receipt even shows every part that the PC is made of, so it's also a good learning experience! DMacDonald answered all my questions with great customer service and to a level I can understand. Heck even after doing the math on the receipt showing every part my PC is made of and researching the price of every part, I still feel it was a great deal for what it's worth! Went to PC station today to get a second opinion (on recovering computer files/ repair after dropping my laptop) after visiting a nearby competitor, and was so happy with the service I received from the two employees I encountered. They provided a simple solution which enabled me to recover my files immediately for no cost while the competitor was going to charge me $80 at a minimum to "try" to recover my files. I definitely appreciate the honest business practices PC station has, and will return to them for any future tech repairs. read more

This is sad and unfortunate, but I guess it had to be done. I spent over $2k having a system built. I was looking for a high performance machine that could handle not just graduate level school work, but also when I play my occasional video game. Initially I spoke with a young gentleman who said he was an intern there. This guy was great! I told him what I was wanting to do, what all I was looking for, etc. He had some wonderful recommendations, and I was pretty excited. He pointed to another gentleman that worked there - Chris. Chris was helping another customer, but the intern said Chris would be the guy to actually build that machine, and we could start looking at components and cost. Here comes Chris, who his customer service was less than that of the intern. He asked what I was wanting to do, and started making suggestions for a lower performance machine. I argued (Wait, why would a customer have to argue for better components? Wouldn't you want to go ahead and sell me what I am asking for instead of continually telling me that I don't need that much RAM? Or that I don't need a larger processor?) for more RAM, a bigger processor, and that I had the money to spend on these higher performance components. He just kept shaking his head and saying I would not need that much power, speed, performance. FINALLY, we settled (I actually just settled - but still trusted his advice) on a build. I go to pick up the machine. I open the box, and it was packaged upside down - that is pure laziness! Why not pack it right? Then, there was a small dent on the side of the new tower, and the paint had even been chipped away. With that, I tried very hard to keep my money in the local economy, and support local businesses - that was a mistake...maybe in this instance, I should have settled for the lesser of 2 evils and just bought a Dell. Needless to say, we've relocated to Washington state, I took my machine to a local shop here, and we're working on fixing what PC Station couldn't do in the first place. read more

After my initial experience I went back to buy a few more things for the computer I was building, but I didn't have as good of an experience the second time around. I bought a few things based on their recommendation that ended up not working out, upon returning it one of the other sales guys said "why the hell did he sell you that?" Don't get me wrong, they took everything back no questions and let me exchange it for what I needed, but it ended up taking a lot more time than I would have liked, having to drive back and forth. While I was there the last time, a third different sales guy came up to me and asked what I was building, and then proceeded to tell me that I was buying the wrong computer case, and that I should get a far more expensive case for a home theatre pc, because a regular computer case "just won't work the way you want it, TRUST me!" (Funny, the regular computer case fits all of the parts in it just fine with room to spare.) It was aggravating for someone to try and upsell me on an item that they don't even carry in their own store. Lastly I was looking for some a higher grade video card, and all they have is either one good top of the line card, and the rest all appeared to be cards made by the same low-level manufacturer. That struck me as odd since they do seem to carry good components when it comes to motherboards. I dunno, I am thinking that I probably won't be back again after my last experience. I really wanted to like the place, but after the bum advice I got it sort of soured me on them a little bit. Everyone was friendly enough, but I dunno, they rubbed me the wrong way. read more

I was waiting for almost two months for my return check and the first check did not arrive and I told them, so they changed the schedule for the second check. After the misunderstanding they sent the second check to the store and they said they were going to call me when the check arrives and they did but they did not tell me they were going to charge me a fucking fee for the first check so if I were you I would not buy from this store. I was looking for a place to purchase a new computer and was willing to drop a serious penny on it. I have heard of this place before because I had a heat sink fan problem once where somehow both of the fans flat out died. Took it to these guys and they put beautiful set of fans on it and the case now glows like Las Vegas! That alone has won me over, but I did put them to a test a second time, this time, with an investment that cost me over $3500. Here is where I don't understand all these negative Yelp reviews. Granted, everyone is subject to their own opinion but I disagree with all the haters out there. These guys are pros! I say it not as just a customer but as someone who could build a full blown computer from ground up in my sleep, however my time is better spent at my job and leisure time. I am well versed in all areas of computer, networking, hardware, and software, so I would detect right away if I am being taken in for a ride. After a lengthy conversation about what kind of a system I was looking for, I can tell you this folks, these people listen! They care, they want to help you. They know what they are talking about and they are upfront about it. After one of the guys there went over my entire list, he gave me a quote that rivaled a cost of building this system with my own blood sweat and tears. Their prices blew away any online PC builder out there, and that is remarkable! So how can they compete with prices like that and still make profit? Easy! OEMs, they buy in bulks, etc, take your pick. Point is, you will not get screwed on price Today my machine was assembled and I came in for an inspection. My god, you guys should of seen this thing! It was GORGEOUS! I don't think the pictures are uploaded yet but this machine is a beauty! I custom picked most of the parts and what I didn't pick my self was because I either stood corrected or it was simply a better deal (i.e. could of had a 1600 Mhz Kingston ram that was blue, which was the color I wanted, but for the same price, I got 2100 Mhz ram, same brand, it was just something they got a discount for which was passed onto me). If you want custom, they got custom! I hand-picked my fans for this case and as far as I know there are only two manufacturers in the world that make them. They STILL got them! Now if that's not some serious dedication I don't know what is. Anyway, the machine runs beautifully; it's a dream machine for a pretty penny but I expect this baby to last me a very long time. I strongly recommend these PC Station Inc, and no that's not a sales pitch or something they gave me kick backs on for posting. My computer was not turning on when I took it into PC Station on a Sunday afternoon. Within 30 minutes, the tech had diagnosed and repaired the problem and I was out the door with a new power supply. Originally I really liked this place. I had a processor installed here after dropping one (pro tip, get a protection plan on processors-especially if you're going to install them yourself. One false move and the thing is bricked.) I wanted a quote to install Puppy Linux on an old laptop and they wanted $200 for that. It's a super easy job so I passed. Eventually a family member's computer wouldn't turn on after I had replaced the power supply. I tested the power supply in another machine, ran just fine. So I took the desktop in because I wanted to get the motherboard tested. Replacing the motherboard is a pain and I wasn't going to do it on a hunch. The associate told me the power supply was bad. I told him it worked on another machine and was also brand new. Repeat same line about the power supply. I asked if I could use their promotion for a checkup just to see if the motherboard was shot. Guy goes into a spiel about how it's only for software and not hardware. Leave a lil bit miffed. Got home, removed a faulty video card, PC runs fine again. read more

Paid $160 for them to diagnose and let me know within 24 hours. Then paid $180 for them to backup my files, re-download Windows 8, and put my files back on the computer, which was done in another 24 hours. So in the end, I paid almost $350 for them do a task that doesn't seem to me to be too complicated. If you are on a college kids budget and time, this may not be the place for you. Miscommunication seemed to be an issue for me as well. Computer does work for now though, which makes me almost want to give the third star. Money is the main issue. read more

Have a decent amount of pc parts for builders. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Not a lot of local places that have this stuff. Wish we had a Fry's. Prices are a little pricy. They want about $100 for something you can get at Best Buys for $75. They are 10 to 25 percent more. They got you when its an uncommon part that you would have to order but need it now. That's why I went here. If you can wait...order it...its much cheaper online. Otherwise still nice to have a store like this.
