Roger got me into a class on a last minute basis... I had been speaking with him over the past year about taking a class but due to medical issues, I had not been able to make it. When I found the time and had a good day he made it work for me. He added a place, understood my needs, and pcshooting went out of their way to accommodate me during the day. The class was very educational, ammusing, and well instructed. Roger and his staff made sure that they met everyone's needs from beginners to seasoned shooters... As someone who falls in between, he still gave me the time I needed to brush up my skills. I had not been to a range since my surgeries and by the time I was done at the range I felt confident again in my abilities. They could have left it at me qualifying which was easy... I plan to take future classes with PCShooting. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with the instructors after and during the course. I'm happy I went with pcshooting. It was above and beyond that Roger and Hunter gave me advice after the class that got me back on track to shooting a decent grouping. Highly recommend them. I am a middle aged female, and I have "learning to shoot a gun" on my bucket list. My husband and I were going to NC to visit family, and when my son & daughter found out I wanted to do this, they signed my husband and I up with Roger from PC Shooting. Believe me when I say it was a TERRIFIC experience!! Rog and his staff were ALL very kind, knowledgeable, and, most of all patient! Rog explained all the safety aspects before we even entered the shooting range. He worked with me, and explained holding the gun, looking thru the sights, never placing your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot, etc. May sound like common sense, but when you have never shot before and your a little intimidated, these aspects are extremely important.! He took his time and was never impatient with me, and spoke to me knowing I was new to this and didn't treat me as though I should already know it!! He has a T-shirt that has a list on the back of the classes they offer, I told my husband our goal should be to take each of the courses. This class was Awesome!! The instructor Roger knows his stuff like the back of his hand, he obviously has the knowledge, skill and experience to back up everything he says. Class wasn't boring, Roger was entertaining in making you understand real life situations. Everything was provided which for the cost of this class was extremely good. I enjoyed hearing real situations, "real" information made things click for me. I'm a woman, the class was very mixed so it was very comfortable. I had very little experience with a gun all of the instructors at the range were very nice and patient. My instructor kinda looked like Jep from Duck Dynasty, lol, made me laugh in my head, he was cool, very helpful. I took the CCH class on Saturday July 12th. 2015 along with my son and it was the best example of showing the difference between an "instructor", who knew the information and a "teacher" who lives it. Roger brings his vast knowledge of North Carolina's gun statutes (He can reference the statute numbers from memory...who can DO THAT?!) and his real life experience to the class. These combine to foster an atmosphere of dialogue and discussion. Roger teaches the "why" of a law or statute and that takes time...time he takes because he is genuinely passionate about gun safety, and you can't "learn" passion...Roger just has it. I completed a PC Shooting defensive shooting class yesterday with my new handgun. Roger and Jay helped me go from zero to hero with a few hours of professional, patient, and customized training based on my shooting style and needs. Roger sets a fun and high energy pace for the class. Jay compliments Roger well with excellent instruction skills and specific suggestions that made all the difference for me. After initially spraying a target with rounds from just a few feet out, I actually won a timed student shooting competition from 10 yards out. I just took the ACCH class. I didn't know what to expect but I do know that Roger and Zack exceeded my expectations. I got personal attention and expert advice and training. I am a 21 year old female and I took the CCH class alone and initially was nervous as to how the class would go. Most of the people in my class were older and no one was near my age. However, as soon as I got there I felt very comfortable and the instructor Roger made the 8 hours of class time before the gun range very interesting through his personal experiences and relating them to the laws he was teaching. This made taking the exam much easier as well. The best place to get your CCH! Roger can explain every law with practical examples that he has personal experience in. We had avid shooters to never fired before and he had tips for all of us. He made sure they new shooters felt comfortable with what they were learning and made sure they were on target. This is a very engaging course. It's very informative, all while being entertaining. Mr. Pettit is very knowledgeable, and brings real experience, and examples to help understand laws. All your questions will be answered. They are also very accommodating. Do not be discouraged if you are new to firearms! I took the CCH class this past Sunday and it was Amazing. I was thinking I was going to need a lot of caffeine to get through the law/test part but Roger made it unforgettable. He had an attention grabber for every paragraph of law we had to go over. I wish he could have been one of my instructors in College. I was also nervous about even handling a gun in the beginning, but after some simple instruction on what to do it felt natural, like I had been doing it for years. I took the After the Concealed Carry Handgun (ACCH)-Defensive Pistol Class October 18, and boy was it a blast. I didn't know what to expect, but Roger created a competitive environment for both new and experienced shooters. This is a well thought-out CCH class. The instructor is VERY knowledgeable and engaging. The class room portion was not at all dull and we were given several breaks. My son and I recently completed the ACCH class with Roger. The class was fast paced and loaded with fine tuning skills that I never learned in the military. My son is a new shooter and scored the highest shooting score Roger had ever given on the final test. Roger's ability to identify and correct mistakes are terrific. Great class! Took the CCH course and was not let down. Roger is great at explaining the laws in way "normal"people can understand.
